《The Sacred Sorceress》04|| To Sacred Grove

"Oh Mira, look how much you've grown. You have become such a strong woman."
Mira opened her eyes to face the source of the voice. Minara, the great sorceress of legend stood before her, dressed in the very clothes Mira thought she was wearing herself.
"Come with me child, don't be afraid. I would never lead my descendant astray."
Mira grabbed Minara's outstretched hand and blindly followed the woman into the darkness.
Images began to appear before them, a story began to unfold.
A young Link wandered into the bare chamber. Suddenly there was a sword deep within a stone pedestal sitting in front of them. He grasped the hilt with both hands and lifted the sword.
A flash of blue consumed everything.
Now stood a much older Link, but he looked different than the Link she knew.
Minara stood next to him, they spoke then ran together from the room. Mira ran after them.
Now they stood in front of Hyrule Castle, but it looked different. Everything around them was partly destroyed and deserted.
A dark man rode out on a dark steed, filling the eerie silence with endless laughter.
The scene changed again. The evil man, none other than Ganondorf stood before them. In front of him stood three people; Link, Zelda, and Minara.
The heroes of the legend.
Swords clanking, arrows flying, Magic whooshing. Each hero brought something to the table.
Ganon was destroyed.
Minara turned to her. "Ganondorf, holder of the triforce piece Power. Zelda, holder of the piece wisdom. Link, holder of the piece courage. You, holder of the piece enchantment."
A triforce appeared before her. The top triangle burned red. Flaming orange words scrawled across saying "power." The bottom left turned blue. Neat cursive words appeared saying "wisdom." The right triangle began to glow green. The word "courage" appeared as if carved with a sword. The upside down empty triangle in the center of the triforce turned purple. "Enchantment" appeared.
"Without us, Hyrule would be nothing. Without you, Hyrule will be gone." Minara said gravely.
Mira bolted upright in bed. The dream replayed in her mind multiple times.
She thought back to when the triforce appeared on her and Link's hand. The triangle representing Courage glowed brighter on his hand and Enchantment was brighter on hers.
Minara said that Link held the triforce of courage. Was she talking about the Hero of Time, or this Link? Or both?
A loud knocking pulled her from her thoughts. The small door creaked open. "Mira?" Link whispered from the doorway.
"I'm awake." She responded simply. The door opened fully. "We're heading out soon." He informed her.
"Okay." She said with a yawn. Reluctantly she got out of the small wooden bed and headed outside. Link was a few feet away loading some new bags into the wagon. A Kokiri child gave him the bags to put in.
"Your ox has been fed and watered." The child told Link after handing him the last bag.
"Thank you." Link smiled gratefully as he hopped down from the wagon.
"Thank you for your hospitality." Mira added as she joined the two.
The child nodded and wished them luck on their journey before heading off to do whatever he normally did.
Zani fluttered around them anxiously. "We should head out as soon as possible."
"Conan isn't awake yet, will you go get him? He's in that house, I think." Link told Mira, pointing to a hut.
"Sure." Mira chirped then headed towards the hut.

She knocked on the door then opened it a crack. "Conan, we're leaving." She called softly.
No response.
She opened the door wider. "Conan." She whispered more sharply.
"Hmm..?" The lump on the bed groaned sleepily.
"We're leaving." Mira informed him.
The dark lump on the bed sat up slowly. She saw his legs swing over the edge of the bed. He shuffled past her, stretching his arms and yawning.
She followed the tired boy back to the wagon where Link was waiting in the driver seat.
"When do I get a turn up front?" Conan asked his two companions.
"Right now." Mira offered. Link gave her a slightly objecting look. "Link should drive though, it seems like you're still half asleep." She added.
Conan agreed with a shrug. He let Mira climb into the back of the wagon then sat beside Link.
They headed down the narrow path in the small hidden village. Like before, two Kokiri children held the bushes apart so the wagon could exit.
"Anyone up for breakfast?" Mira asked rummaging through their preservatives.
"Yes, I'm starving." Conan said turning around to face her in the back.
She found some bread and goat cheese. She made three sandwiches for breakfast and handed one to each of them.
"Not the best breakfast, but you take what you can get." Conan said happily with a mouth full of bread and cheese.
"Mmhmm." Mira hummed, munching on her own breakfast.
Zani landed on Link's shoulder and whispered in his ear.
"LINK WATCH OUTTTT!" Conan screamed slapping his hand down on Link's shoulder immediately.
Zani shot off of Link's shoulder and flew out of the way just in time.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?" Link exclaimed punching Conan's shoulder for payback.
"I saw a bug on you!" Conan shot back. "The least you could say is thanks."
"Hey, I'm no bug!" Zani squeaked defensively.
"Aah! It can talk!" Conan jumped in to the back of the wagon taking cover behind a barrel.
"That's not a bug, you asshat." Link sighed rolling his eyes in frustration.
"Hey I'm not an asshat." Conan growled. His face softened into confusion. "What is it then?"
"It's a fairy." Mira explained between giggles.
"I'm not an 'it' you know. I have a name and it's Zani." The red fairy told them.
"Sorry, Zani." Mira apologized, still amused by Conan's gullibility.
Conan folded his arms and sulked in the back of the wagon for a good hour or so after that. Mira took his place in the front with Link.
"I think we're getting close." Mira commented. "I have this good feeling."
"Me too." Link agreed quietly.
"We're definitely getting close." Zani informed them.
A small clearing came into view with a clear water spring.
"We should stop and let the ox rest. Plus it's about lunch time anyway." Mira suggested.
Link nodded in agreement and pulled the wagon to a halt off to the side of the spring. He hopped down from the driver seat and unhooked the wagon from their ox. The large animal lumbered over to the spring and drank gratefully.
Mira hopped down and stretched her legs. She scooped some water from the spring and splashed it on her face.
Conan hopped out of the back, yawning and stretching. "Who's up for some lunch? I sure am."
Mira walked back to the wagon and pulled out a blanket which she laid on the ground. She grabbed some fruit and bread.

The trio sat down on the blanket and began to eat some of the small meal.
"How long do you think until we reach Kakariko?" Conan asked looking at the surrounding woods around them. "It seems like we should at least be in Hyrule Field by now. Are you guys sure we're heading in the right direction?"
Link gave Mira a quick glance. She felt bad that Conan didn't know what was really going on, but they couldn't tell him. Not yet at least.
"We'll be there soon enough." Link answered vaguely.
Conan looked between the two for a moment, but just shrugged and accepted the answer.
"Hey, look, listen!" Zani suddenly sputtered, fluttering around their heads in an antsy matter.
"What is it?" Mira asked the anxious fairy.
"Look, listen." Zani repeated.
"What the hell is up with this fairy?" Conan asked, trying to swat Zani away from his head.
"Shhh" Link shushed him. Everyone fell silent, even Zani.
The silence was eerie. A few birds chirped somewhere in the tree tops. A bush rustled nearby. Then a twig snapped.
Their long Hylian ears twitched. Hylian's hearing was more advanced than most species in Hyrule.
Link stood up slowly, facing the source of the noise. He quietly unsheathed his sword and stood in a ready stance.
The bush rustled some more, Link looked ready to pounce. Suddenly a single rabbit hopped from the bush.
Conan burst out laughing, causing the bunny to hop away. Link lowered his sword.
"What a--" Conan was cut off as a horde of Bokoblins, Moblins, and Goblins of all shapes and sizes burst through the bushes, weapons drawn.
Mira sprang up unsheathing her own sword. Link had already charged, Mira and Conan followed close behind.
Link quickly took down a bokoblin with two slashes of his sword. Conan faced a giant Moblin, slashing it incessantly and rolling to the side just in time to avoid a blow from the giant creature.
The three advanced students began taking down the creatures. Mira had plenty of hope that they could do this. Her confidence was soon dampened when Bokoblins began shooting lit arrows from the tree tops.
"The wagon!" Link yelled, running and diving behind it for cover. Mira and Conan got the hint and quickly ran after him.
Their ox had long run away. "It's not gonna be long before this thing goes up in flames." Conan told them gesturing to the wagon they crouched behind.
"The bow." Mira muttered. And quickly she crawled into the back of the wagon.
"Save your stuff!" She called out behind her. Link and Conan soon crawled in behind her. She opened her bag and threw out some of the unnecessary objects she had packed like clothes. She then quickly replaced it with food and what weapons she could fit inside.
Link and Conan copied her actions. Suddenly the canvas that covered the wagon caught fire. "We need to get out!" Link yelled.
Conan crawled out first, his bag slung over his shoulder and a new shield in hand. Next went Link, who had also grabbed his bag and shield.
Mira followed last, choking on the smoke that now filled the air. She quickly grabbed the quiver of arrows and the bow.
She jumped out of the wagon, rolling roughly on the ground. Link crouched beside her. "You okay?"
"I'm fine." She croaked with a cough. She quickly sat up. "Cover me."
He ran out with her, Conan was already out there fighting with the goblins. Link held up his shield, blocking the flying arrows as Mira loaded an arrow in the bow.
It took her a second to locate one of the archers in the trees. She finally spotted one and quickly shot him down.
She wasn't too bad at archery, and luckily the shot nailed the creature.
"Nice shot." Link complimented her as she got another arrow ready and searched the tree tops once again.
She found another one and shot it quickly. "One more, I think." Link told her. She nodded, thinking the same thing.
Another arrow was loaded and she was just about to shoot.
"Mira!" A voice yelled behind her. Mira was about to turn when a sharp pain erupted in her back. She fell to her knees, then toppled to her side.
Conan ran up and knelt beside her, Link knelt on the other side. Mira's vision was hazy, but she could tell they were surrounded.
More and more goblins of all types showed up and surrounded them. They didn't attempt to kill any of them though, instead they just pointed their weapons at them.
A man, not human, but not a goblin either, walked up to the trio.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" He asked rhetorically, examining them.
"Looks like a bunch of little heroes. That one wears the heroes garb, and that one Minara's old clothes. What a joke." The man mocked.
Mira's vision was getting blurrier, she couldn't even see what the man looked like. He looked like he was wearing dark clothes and had light silver hair.
"Put your weapons down, or you will all die." The man ordered sternly. She could hear Link and Conan's swords clash to the ground.
"Take them away." The man ordered some Moblins.
Mira felt herself get lifted from the ground. She was tossed over one of the Moblin's shoulders. The impact burned through her back.
She was carried off and thrown into the back of a wooden wagon. Link and Conan were thrown in soon afterward.
Bokoblins crawled in and snapped shackles around their wrists and ankles, leaving them barely any ability to move.
The last bokoblin hopped out and slammed the wooden door behind him. A small window in the door with bars through it was the only source of light.
She heard the door being locked and then the rumbling of the wagon beginning to move.
"Mira, stay with us." Link said from somewhere nearby. "Mira."
His voice got fainter and fainter.
"Mira."
And just like that, everything went black.

A crow fluttered through the open window, and into the dimly lit chamber. A woman sat at the vanity, brushing her blonde hair.
The crow landed on the vanity beside her and transformed into a man, sitting at the edge of the table.
"They've been captured, my lady." He informed her. The woman smiled, menacingly.
"Good work. My master will be most pleased by this news." Her voice was smooth, but carried a dark tone. "You're dismissed, for now."
"Thank you, your greatness." The man said. He transformed into a crow once again and flew out the window. She walked over to the window and watched as the bird disappeared among the stormy clouds.
Hyrule Kingdom was gloomier than ever and she couldn't have been more pleased.

Fair warning I don't understand the rating system but I'll say M-rated just in case. This is my first story, I accept criticism but I would like the critic to explain the reasoning behind it. 8 124Liana in between Worlds
17 year old Liana is not as surprised as most people would be when she meets Inaya, coming from another world searching for a mysterious danger that could be disastrous for both worlds. She's always seen things others could not see, and she often finds it easier to befriend strange creatures from dreamworlds than her classmates. But now she's involved in a possible plot to eradicate our whole species, which makes her travel through a dead alien city and the oak wood of the Nummerfa who believe that our species are dangerous demons from hell, and other places in several different worlds. All she actually wanted was read her Tolkien book, or sit and watch the stars without being bothered by the existential problems of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And how is she going to even explain her absence at school? 'Liana in Between Words' is a weird genre-defying mix of portal fantasy and scifi in a tale of friendship, loneliness, and the role of humans in the multiverse. This one contains absolutely no romance and no serious trigger warnings for sex, excessive violence, bad words or heavily traumatising content if you can handle the idea that there are people somewhere who think -maybe not completely without reason- that our species are destructive demons that should be eradicated.
