《Super Smash Bros Brawl University》Chapter Twenty-Four: The Final Battle Part One

DL chuckled at their astonished expressions. "Terrified yet? You should be."
Marth gulped harshly, but stepped forward. "You should be terrified. After all, you're the one that's going to die. Right here. Right now." His friends nodded in agreement behind him, stepping forward as well to show their support.
"I admire your courage, Prince of Altea, but I don't fear you. I'm half dead already." DL countered. Marth's short statement didn't scare him in the least. His signature smirk played on his lips as his empty eyes stared at the small gathering of people before him.
"What do you mean, 'half dead'?" Zelda asked. Her voice was quiet, but it was audible. "I have no soul." He said darkly adding a short chuckle to the end. This was definitely news to the group of heroes and heroines, but it wasn't surprising.
"Well, then I guess once we destroy your outer shell there won't even be a soul left to go to hell. Lucky for you." Pit replied snarkily.
"Enough chit chat!" A voice boomed suddenly. It was deep and magical. It also held power and authority. DL turned around and tilted his head up to face his master. "My apologies master. We can get on with it now."
DL bowed his head and crouched down on one knee. A few moments later he quickly turned and once again faced the silent spectors.
"Let it begin. The final battle. The last one. The one that determines who wins, good or evil. Though I'm pretty sure I can already predict the outcome." The short speech ended with the famous spine chilling smirk that seemed to be permanently stuck on DL's dark face.
He drew his sword and began taking slow steps forward. The others quickly drew their weapons as well. Tabuu, the master behind it all, observed from the sky. "This ends now." Link said quietly before he ran forward at the dark clone of himself. He swung his sword with such speed and strength that it seemed impossible for him not to land a blow, but DL blocked every single one. Link's friends waited in the background, unsure how to assist.
DL let out a short scream as he swung his sword forward harshly. Link blocked the blow just in time, but the blow was powerful enough that it forced him to the ground. DL was just about to bring down his sword and finish Link for good when Ike intervened. He blocked the strike with his sword then forced DL to stumble away from where Link was laying. Zelda of course rushed over to Link and kneeled by his side checking him for major injuries.
"I'm fine. I just got the wind knocked out of me." Link promised the concerned Zelda. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure." He repeated. She smiled softly. "Good." He smiled back as she helped him stand up. Their attention turned to DL who was now in a heated sword duel with both Ike and Marth. He was some how managing not to get hit by either of them.
Pit took flight impatiently. He didn't want to stand around any longer. A shower of arrows rained down on DL. He was sure to avoid hitting Ike and Marth. DL saw it coming and quickly held up his shield. The arrows bounced off uselessly. The act wasn't completely useless though. While DL protected himself from the arrows, Ike knocked his sword from his hand and quickly retrieved it.

DL's menacing eyes found Ike. "It's over DL. You're finished." Ike said. Without another word he lunged the sword forward, stabbing DL in the stomach. The evil man fell to his knees, though he wasn't dead yet. Ike was about to finish him when someone yelled, "Wait!" All eyes turned to face the source of the voice. Link ran forward. "Let me finish him." He said sternly. Ike just nodded and backed away. Link held up his own sword.
"Just remember, this is for everthing you have done. Everything you've done to my friends, and especially what you did to Zelda." Link said bitterly. His eyes were full of dark hatred towards this man. "Last words?" He asked. "Yes, actually. Kill me. It doesn't matter. My master has more powers then you could ever imagine and he will avenge me. The plan will not fail. Soon enough the precious world you all know and love will be under his rule. Be prepared." Link kept an angry mask to cover his real emotion of slight fear. They could beat this Tabuu guy. Couldn't they?
He just shook his head. "You're wrong." With those last words to the monster, he spat on him right in the face then sliced off his head. With surprisingly great satisfaction, he rolled the body off the bridge then picked up the head. DL's red eyes remained open. He quickly chucked the ugly thing off with the body.
A loud thunderous chuckle boomed behind the group. Everyones attention was directed toward the sky where the blue mystical creature still resided. Tabuu was laughing. Laughing. "Well done. Don't get too excited yet. This war is far from over. DL was just a simple pawn. A weakling compared to what I can do." Tabuu announced cockily. "Say your last goodbyes young heroes because your lives end now. Unless," He paused for effect. "You'd like to surrender and join me. Then and only then, will you lives be spared." He smiled down at the group.
"We will never join you!" Zelda yelled without hesitation. Everyone shouted forms of agreement.
Tabuu's smile fell. "Very well then. I hope you've enjoyed the life you've lived because it ends today." He said darkly.
They all grouped together, weapons drawn, and ready to fight. Tabuu's wings disappeared. He remained hovering in the air as the group waited. They had no idea what they were up against or what powers Tabuu held. Perhaps DL talked him up higher than her really was? They could only hope.
A weapon, slightly transparent like Tabuu himself, appeared in his outstretched hand. The group waited.
The air was heavy with tension. Dark clouds lingered in the sky, waiting to rain, thunder, and flash. Waiting to be heard.
A small smile stretched on Tabuu's face as his eyes shot open. He made the first move. Quickly he lunged at the group in a steep dive, his sword outstretched before him.
They split into two, diving into opposite directions so that he sliced through the middle, harming no one. Ike was first to recover. Tabuu still floated slightly in the air, but just in reach.

Ike lunged toward Tabuu, but just as he reached him, he disappeared. Ike landed roughly. He was not expecting that.
Tabuu reappeared close to Marth who shot up. Before he even got close, Tabuu once again disappeared into thin air. In seconds, he was in a different spot. Nyssa and Pit fired multiple arrows at once. Tabuu simply floated out of reach.
Tabuu began to laugh again. His evil chuckle began to irritate everyone. "JUST WHAT'S SO FUNNY?!" Samus screamed. Not even attempting to hide her frustration. "No need to get worked up doll. It's hysterical really." Tabuu said calmly chuckling to himself.
"What's so hysterical?" Samus snapped. "I have to admit, I thought you guys would put up much more of a fight than this. You truly are just pathetic humans like Ganon and DL said you'd be." Tabuu said nonchalantly.
Samus was so angry you could almost visibly see steam blowing from her ears. "Who said this was over?" She growled. In seconds her gun was in action firing special laser beams at him like a mad man. Tabuu barely reacted in time. "C'mon you bastards! Get off your asses and help me!" Samus yelled behind her at the gawking group.
They snapped out of their daze. "PIT, NYSSA! TAKE THE SKY! LINK, MARTH, IKE, ROY CHARGE WITH YOUR SWORDS! ZELDA, YOU'RE WITH ME!!" Samus bellowed orders like she was born to do it. Immediately everyone obeyed. Pit and Nyssa took off showering arrows at Tabuu.
He disappeared, but had to reappear seconds later and they were ready. They were everywhere.
Samus was first to land a blow, hitting Tabuu in the leg. The blow didn't seem to really faze him, but he was starting to get angry. Or nervous. Or perhaps both. He threw some kind of whipping wind thing that he developed from his hands. It looked like a giant throwing star.
Just like that Nyssa and Pit were wiped out of the sky. The two landed side by side a little ways down the bridge. The other's didn't have time to feel their pain or even check if they were okay. They had to finish this.
Tabuu disappeared and reappeared immediately launching more whipping wind things at Roy. Quickly Roy held up his shield protecting himself. The blow still forced him to his knees. Marth, Ike, and Link charged together, forming a triangle around Tabuu.
They jumped in the air ready to penetrate their swords into him, but once again he was gone. The three clumsily crashed into each other instead, falling to a heap on the ground.
Their enemy turned to face the two left standing. Samus shot without hesitation. Tabuu quickly dodged side to side, avoiding the harmful beams.
Zelda had been studying the art of witch craft for a few years now. She knew only simple spells that would hardly be considered harmful, but they would have to do. She launched a few fire balls at Tabuu, one hit his leg. He let out a small groan, but didn't seem to be effected much.
By now, Link, Ike, and Roy were back on their feet. Marth stayed down. The hilt of Link's sword hit his head, knocking him unconcious.
Link ran forward swinging his sword. He had to jump to reach Tabuu's height and slashed his back twice before being pulled to the ground once again by gravity. Tabuu's back arched. To him it was more like being scraped with a tree branch. Still, he turned around.
A powerful laser shot from his hands, wide enough to hit Link, Roy, and Ike all at once. Link and Roy rolled to the side where the laser couldn't reach, but Ike wasn't so fortunate. He held up his shield to no prevail. The metal did little to block the powerful laser. Ike skidded some ways down the bridge like a rag doll.
Zelda loaded the bow of Light. In a single motion she shot two arrows. She hit Tabuu straight on causing his laser to cease and for him to whip around.
Ike eventually skid to a stop, unmoving.
Tabuu's wings opened once again; a bad sign. Three red shock waves released from his body stunning both Zelda and Samus, who he was facing, to the ground. Their bodies shook with electric waves then finally came to a still rest.
Tabuu turned around once again facing the recovering two left. He smirked with newfound confidence. They were exhausted like they had just ran two miles, but Tabuu felt as if he'd just jogged maybe half a mile at most.
"One.. two...three!" Link murmured quietly. As the last number fell from his lips, the red head and blonde ran with what energy they had left and launched themselves in the air. They managed a few slashes against Tabuu's legs before he disappeared.
As soon as they landed they quickly whipped around to where Tabuu was waiting. Tabuu held up two fingers then swiped them across the air in a horizontal motion. A red blade hit them causing them to fall to their sides.
Before the two could even struggle to stand, Tabuu teleported to a higher location. Magical bullets rained down. They didn't penetrate the skin, but they felt like a heavy hail storm.
"You think you could beat me." Tabuu said laughing. "Now you see just how weak you all are. You guys put up a good fight. I'll give that to you, but now that you're out of the way, the plan shall commence. Bit by bit, the world shall be mine and there's nothing you can do about it."
After that, everything went black for Link. The last one concious.
(A/N) THE STORY IS NOT OVER!!! Hence the part one. I decided to break this into two parts. After part two there will be an epilogue/extra ending type thing! I hope you guys enjoyed! Please vote and comment as usual. ILYSM!!
