Zelda paced. She was waiting for her friends to arrive. She'd just told her father about the new information. At first he didn't believe her, but after some convincing, he finally agreed to prepare their soldiers. Now, as she paced, Hyrule's soldiers were making last minute preparations. Many were posted outside Castle Town and Hyrule Castle. They hadn't made an announcement to the people just yet. Her father didn't want the people to panic over false information, though Zelda knew it was true.

Minutes passed, but it felt like hours. Finally, a servant approached her. "There's a large group of people that would like to see you outside." She said after she had bowed. "Lead me to them." Zelda responded. "Please." She added. "Of course My Lady." The servant said bowing once again and leading Zelda outside.

Link wasn't kidding. Dozens of soldiers she didn't recognize waited in cars. More people that she didn't recognize stepped out of cars. Then, Pit landed with a beautiful girl at his side. Many centurions landed behind them. Finally, she saw her friends. They piled out of a car.

Immediately she ran up to them engulfing them in hugs. She felt tears brim her eyes. "I can't believe you guys did all of this to protect me." She said addressing all of them. She couldn't help the smile on her face or the tears the slipped down her cheeks.

They all talked at once. Saying things like, "Of course we would!" "Don't be silly! What are friends for!" "Why wouldn't we?" "You're our friend." They returned small smiles before they all gathered in a large group hug.

When they all separated and Zelda collected herself, she made an announcement. "Thank you everyone that has selflessly come here to fight for me and my kingdom. If we can win this war, which I'm confident we can, Hyrule will be in your debt." She spoke loudly and confidentally, like a true leader.

The crowd cheered, though it was still tense. "Please, come inside where we will treat you to refreshments, rest, and a place to prepare." She said. The huge crowd followed her into the entry way of the castle. Of course it was gigantic.

Her father greeted everyone. "Hello! Thank you everyone for coming. It is nice to see such kind hearted people that are willing to risk their lives for others gather in my kingdom. In the dining hall, I've had refreshments set out, there are rooms for everyone to rest, and their are practice grounds just outside. Thank you again for coming." He bellowed, his voice echoing through the large, stone, room.

Servants were sent to lead people to their desired destinations and find them rooms to rest in. Only Link, Marth, Ike, Roy, Pit, Nyssa, Peach, Samus, and Malon remained. Zelda stood by their side as her father came to greet them. "I assume you are Zelda's friends that are responsible for all of this?" He asked. They nodded. "Thank you." He said simply. "It's our honor." Marth replied bowing. His friends caught on and did the same.

"I recognize that symbol." The king said pointing to the symbol on Marth's chest plate armor. Marth stood up straight. "Why, you're Prince Marth of Altea!" The king exclaimed in realization. Marth nodded. "My, the honors all mine." The king said bowing. "Thank you Your Majesty. These are some of my best knights, Roy and Ike. This is Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom. This is Samus Aran, she used to be in the galactic army, this is Pit, a noble knight to Lady Palutena and his girlfriend Nyssa. Here we have Link, he's a skilled fighter and basically organized this alliance to come here, and this is Malon. She's the one who informed us about the army Hyrule will face." Marth introduced the group.

The king looked slightly bewildered. He then looked at Zelda who gave him a small smile. "I didn't realize that you had so many important and powerful friends Zel." He said quietly. She just nodded. "Welcome to Hyrule! Right this way." He finally said putting on a huge grin and leading the group into the dining hall.

Most everyone was gathered there eating. They found some seats and sat down. They grabbed some food and placed in on their plates to begin the meal.

"Thanks again guys. This means a lot to me and my father." Zelda said again giving her friends grateful looks. They all smiled so sincerely, she knew that she could trust these people with her life. "Let's eat." Ike said grabbing a bunch of chicken wings and putting them on his plate. Everyone chuckled. "I second that motion." Roy said stuffing his face with food. Peach swatted his arm, but smiled at him. The mood seemed to lighten a great deal and the group began to discuss their Thanks Giving breaks previous finding out about the battle they'd soon face.

"I think her parents actually like me." Roy said finishing his story about his dinner with Peach and her parents. She smiled at him and gave his hand a squeeze. Samus told a story about the arcade. Marth smiled at her as she told her story and when she caught him she blushed, but smiled back. It was obvious to the group that they liked eachother. Zelda found herself longing to hold Link's hand who was sitting next to her. She longed to lean into him and lay on his shoulder, but she held back. She couldn't be with him. That thought filled her heart with dread and sadness, but she knew it was true. Her father wouldn't allow it. Maybe, if they could just win this battle, it will prove to her father how good of a guy Link is. It'll prove that it doesn't matter that he isn't a prince. It'll prove that he is definitely good enough to be with Zelda. She felt hope. She just needed that proof.

Some people that had volunteered to battle from the university introduced themselves to Zelda. She found the Italian brothers, Mario and Luigi, quite amusing. A fox, a wolf, and a bird, seemed very serious, but she could tell they were kind hearted underneath. They were named Fox, Wolf, and Falco. She was surprised to find two little boys, Lucas and Ness, had volunteered, but immediately new they were ready for a thing like this after they demonstrated some of their skills. A pokemon trainer showed her the three pokemons he had volunteered. She was very impressed. He showed her an orange dragon named Charizard, and green creature with a flower on it's back named Ivysaur, and a blue turtle name Squirtle. There were also three other pokemons, though they weren't with that trainer. One reminded her of a little yellow cat, called Pikachu. He had electricity powers. The other one was a big pink ball. Her name was Jiggly Puff. Her powers were singing. She also could do a few other moves. The last one also had a cat like appearence though it was blue and stood on two legs. It could summon blue balls of power. It's name was Lucario. A very buff man named Captain Falcon, proved he was kind and a good edition to the team. Another seemingly little boy in an astronaut suit told her about his creatures. His name was Olimar and his creatures were called Pikmin. There was also an animated looking guy named Mr. Game and Watch, as well as a little green dinosaur named Yoshi. There was a gorilla named Donkey Kong and a monkey named Diddy Kong. There was also a blue hedgehog named Sonic. He was unbelievably fast. The absolute nicest one she met was another pink ball, though it was a boy, and he was smaller than Jiggly Puff. Plus, he didn't have her ears, and wasn't a pokemon. He was named Kirby. He was about the sweetest little guy she'd ever met. He was very courageous and like-able. He also told tales of his delicious cooking and baking skills.

Everyone was talking and even showing off their powers and skills. They were having a pretty good time. The fact that they had to go to battle seemed forgotten as they laughed at each others' stories and past experiences.

A messenger ran in and up to Zelda. "My Lady." He said with a bow. "The watch men have spotted a disturbance on Hyrule Field. They believe it's the army. They're coming." He informed her quietly. "Thank you." She responded quietly. "Go inform my father please." The messenger nodded, bowed, then ran off to find the king. Her friends could tell by the way all humor had left her expression that something was wrong. As if they had suddenly remembered the battle that was still to be faced, they lost all humor too.

Zelda stood up. "Everyone, if I may have your attention please." She announced. People continued to talk, unaware of the announcement she was trying to make. "Everyone!" She tried again this time louder. Still, people remained completely oblivious.

"EVERYONE SHUT THE HELL UP!" Roy yelled. The room went completely silent and all attention turned to the head of the table where Zelda stood. She gave Roy a small, thankful, nod before turning her attention back to the waiting crowd.

"I have been informed that the army we're to face has been spotted on Hyrule Field coming our way." Gasps could be heard. She had no idea why. They knew this was coming. "If everyone will quickly and orderly gather their things, we will head out to face them. Thank you." She said. Once she finished, everyone scurried this way and that to get what they needed. The aura in the room changed from fun and laid back to anxious and tense.

Within a few minutes, everyone was gathered by the front doors of the castle. Most dressed in armor, some just with weapons. Others only had armor, because they were planning on relying on their powers.

Zelda changed into her war dress and put armor on. She loaded her quiver with arrows, and slung the bow of light over her shoulder. She also had her sword sheathed at her waist.

Soon they were marching down the streets of Hyrule to Hyrule field. Zelda and her father led their army on horses. After the Hylian army, Marth rode on a horse leading the portion of forces from Altea. After them, Pit and Nyssa marched leading the centurions. They didn't want to give everyone away by flying in the sky. Next, Peach rode on a horse. (She got one because she was a Princess.) All the volunteers from the University marched behind her.

Once everyone was outside the wall around Castle Town and Hyrule Castle, some soldiers that stayed behind to protect the kingdom if necessary, let down the big Iron gates to protect the entrance.

The formation of allies marched forward. They wanted the battle to take place as far away from the kingdom as possible. Soon the dark army came into view. Leading it was DL, on a black horse with red eyes. Everyone seemed to be dressed in black except a few people. The army was full of the army from the Twilight Realm, and many monsters. Mostly skeletons, but there were also what seemed like hundreds of moblins, bulblins, bokoblins, phantoms, even poes. There were a few other people that got the privelege of riding on a horse. These would be later recognized as Wario, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Snake, Bowser, and their very own headmaster of Super Smash Bros Brawl University, Ganondorf.

Soon the dark forces stopped proceeding, so the defenders of Hyrule stopped too. There was silence for a moment. "CHARGE!!" Dark Link yelled. "CHARGE!!!" the Hylian King, Marth, Pit, and Link joined in addressing their forces. Everyone ran forward weapons out, except the centurions who took off into the sky.
