《Three's a Charm》Chapter 21

"You're home early," Dean said calmly, as if he hadn't just been caught with his hand in my panties.
What was it with Sebastian's timing, to interrupt two of my intimate moments in one day?
Then again, said moments wouldn't have happened at all if Sebastian hadn't made sure I stayed in town. So I guess I couldn't blame him for raining on my orgasmic parade.
He certainly didn't look apologetic for walking in on us. He remained silent and kept drinking me in, blushing furiously as I was. His nostrils flared as he took in the smells in the living room.
"We expected you in an hour or so, pal," Dean spoke again. His gaze shifted to me before he added with a smug tone, "But no worries: you weren't too early."
I sighed inwardly. Males.
Then I sucked in a breath because Dean brought his fingers to his mouth. The fingers glistering with my wetness.
He intended to lick them clean. I could see the intention clearly in his eyes.
I was mortified and enraptured at the same time.
He stuck his tongue out and–
Sebastian moved at shifter speed and grabbed Dean's wrist. He leaned down and sniffed at Dean's fingers. A groan escaped him, as if he had smelled the most amazing perfume. He locked eyes with me... and licked those fingers clean.
Holy. Hell.
Just like that, the throbbing between my thighs returned with a vengeance.
"Urgh, Bas! That was gross!" Dean tugged his hand out of Sebastian's hold. "Sorry but I don't swing that way."
Sebastian licked his lips, eyes still on me, before turning around. At the door to the corridor, he said over his shoulder, "Be ready in ten, darlin'."
What? Like I was supposed to go out on a date with him right after he had caught me and Dean sticky-handed? I needed more than ten minutes to compose myself, thank you very much.

Before I could go after Sebastian to give him a piece of my mind, Dean got up from the sofa and called out, "Enjoy your nice cold shower, Bas!"
"You, too," was the reply from outside the room.
Dean chuckled then grinned when he saw I was looking at his crotch.
Yep, that impressively long hard-on wasn't going anywhere without a cold shower.
Agh, this was all my fault. Sticking around was only making things worse for everyone, if only they had let me leave...
"Hey," Dean came to stand beside me, "what's with the face? Did I disappoint my sweetie?"
I gave him a look. He knew exactly what delicious havoc he had wrecked on my girlie bits. "Fishing for compliments?"
"Always." He winked at me. When that won him a smile, he extended a hand to me. "Let's go introduce you to the best bathroom in the building: mine."
I put my hand in his big one, much to my tigress' delight at the contact. "A shower sounds good but I don't have any fresh clothes here."
"I'll give you one of my T-shirts. I will never wash it afterwards, so it would forever smell like you."
"Dean."
He snickered and gave my hand a squeeze. "I mean it about the T-shirt. Think of it this way: it will be a constant reminder for Bas tonight that you're my mate, too."
That was when we entered what had to be Dean's bedroom.
There were clothes and socks basically everywhere: the floor, the desk, the window sill... The bed sheets looked as though Dean had been practicing rolling around as an Olympic sport in there. And the potted plant in the corner was so dried-up it was completely ready to be added to a herbarium.

"Umm..." He stopped in the middle of the room, his hand scratching at his chest while his eyes took in the mess.
I bit my lip to stifle a giggle. The look on his face was priceless. He must have forgotten about the state of things in here. And he probably hadn't planned for me to see his bedroom today.
"Let me guess," I nudged him in the shoulder to wake him up from the stupor. "Sebastian planted a bomb in your wardrobe?"
Dean gave me a relieved smile. "I knew you'd understand. He is such a slob that he can't stand my room being so tidy all the time."
This time I giggled. "It figures... Think there's a clean T-shirt for me that isn't on the floor?"
He shot me an offended look. "Of course, sweetie. What kind of mate do you take me for, to offer you something less than the best?"
While he rummaged in his wardrobe, I used the limited time we had left with Sebastian still in the shower to ask about a serious matter.
"Dean, it's been nearly an entire day and Eric is yet to call. Will you do what you promised me? Reach out to your contacts in nearby settlements?"
He turned to looked at me and nodded, a serious look on his face. "I was planning on doing it after you and Bas went out. It's better not to raise the issue in front of him right now. In fact," he handed me a red T-shirt, "I was going to suggest you leave your phone with me. Because if Eric calls you while you're with Bas... Let's not pull the tiger's tail during his long-awaited date with you, shall we? I'll have a discussion on the matter with him tomorrow, when my pal will be a happier camper."
I sighed. Dean had a point, and I believed he would do right by Eric if he called. But it still sucked that without my phone, I would have to wait until tomorrow for news.
Dean gently took my hand in his. "Trust me, sweetie. I'll tell you if Eric has contacted me - and what I have learned from my contacts in case he hasn't – first thing in the morning."
"In the morning?"
"When I come to take Bas' place at your side." His eyes danced with amusement at my raised brows. "Resistance is futile. He is going to spend the night at your place and that's that. On the couch, of course. And in animal form, just like Eric. You're safe with him, I guarantee it."
I sighed again. The comparison with Eric was supposed to reassure me but it didn't. Not just because Sebastian wasn't an Omega but also because after today's mistakes on my part, I didn't trust my horny self around any of the males.
Even Sebastian.

A Girl and Her Food
When a lost girl wakes up without a name, she quickly finds herself alone in a way that people around her can’t fix. Without a real plan and desperate to find what’s wrong with her, she thrashes and bites to stay alive. But human beings are weak things, that band together for strength, no matter who we are. Now if only she could work up the courage to ask one question... It’s normal to get stronger when you drink the blood of monsters. Right? Things to expect: - A powerful but kinda neurotic and emotional protagonist, with some degree of weak to strong. Or maybe strong to stronger, honestly. She's pretty rational and practical about things but won't always make the best decisions, so be warned if you super-dislike characters doing dumb stuff for emotional reasons sometimes. - Lots of dialogue and characterization, especially as we get more into it. It's focused on a single POV, but there might be some sections of other POVs later on, I'm not sure right now. - Magic is on the softer side, but I'll try to keep things fleshed out enough to avoid any obvious "well-established magic could have seemingly instantly solved this problem" moments. - I didn't add the mystery tag because I feel like it implies that this is a detective novel or something, but the story is absolutely incredibly opaque at times. So you'll have the most fun if you go into it trying to puzzle out the nature of events before they're explicitly explained!😇 - Also, I added the genre for completion, but it's gonna take a while to get to the romance. Please wait warmly and have some tea. Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!
