《Three's a Charm》Chapter 14

"You and I are going on a date. We'll get to know each other so next time I claim your mouth, you won't be pulling away with the excuse that you're kissing a stranger."
For a moment there I didn't know how to react to Sebastian's statement.
I hadn't recovered fully from his kiss yet, my body humming with desire as if I hadn't climaxed less than an hour ago. My tigress was pacing restlessly in my mind, demanding that I return to the virile tiger's side to see what else he had to offer. My thoughts were a scattered mass, alternating between sticking to the lie about me needing time and space, and going with the flow to see what might come out of this true-mate-multiplied-by-three stuff.
The fact that I was even considering giving it a try was proof of how I wasn't thinking straight. After what had happened with Bruce, I must be losing my mind – or being too horny – to be contemplating getting involved not with one but two dominant shifters–
"I'll come pick you up at 7," Sebastian declared next.
I pursed my lips. Time to get it together and do the rational thing. Thankfully, Sebastian was as good at getting me hot and bothered as he was at pissing me off.
"So you're ordering me out on a date, is that it? Please, feel free to also order what clothes I should be wearing for you."
He had the nerve to ogle me from head to toe, one hand stroking his beard. "Anything but this abomination will do."
"Agh, you're impossible! You don't even realize how full of yourself you are, you–"
"I'm simply telling you what I want, loud and clear."
I leveled my eyes at him. "You sure? Because that's not how your words sounded, General. And what if I want something different? What if I decline this kind offer of yours?"

He shrugged. "You'll have Dean for company again."
I frowned. "Again?"
A grin split his lips.
Oh, no. The few times I had seen Sebastian smile, it had always preceded him saying something that would get me flustered. The jerk apparently enjoyed doing that to me.
"You're having brunch with Dean in about," he glanced at his watch, "twenty-eight minutes."
The. Jerk.
My glare only made his grin grow. "The idea was his, not mine. When I talked to him on the phone before coming up here, I promised to pass his invitation along. He wanted to come in an hour and a half, but I assured him it shouldn't take you that long to choose what to wear from that small travel bag of yours."
I forgot how to breathe at his last words.
"And don't worry about going to your car to get the bag. I'll bring it to you before I head off to work. I'll leave once Dean has arrived, of course."
Of course. Sebastian would not leave me on my own even for a minute, not now that he knew about my escape plan.
There was going to be no escape. I was trapped.
The look I gave Sebastian was murderous, but did that faze him? Nope.
"You have time for a shower, to wash off the Omega's scent. I promise not to 'barge in' while you're at it, wet and dripping."
"Agh!"
I grabbed one of the cushions from the couch and threw it at Sebastian with a snarl.
It hit him in the chest and bounced right off.
I should have aimed higher, to wipe that calm expression off his face.
"See you at 7, darlin'."
The next cushion flew his way, only to hit him in the broad back on his way to the door.

"I'll take you to a place I think you'll love," he added from the door. "You might even purr."
I growled as I threw the last available cushion at him, but he had already left.
I collapsed onto the couch, face in my hands.
Clearly, I was going on a date. First with Dean, second with Sebastian. And then what?
I could only hope that they would discover I wasn't their type. They found me physically appealing but my personality could turn them off. They might realize the fated mate bit about our souls matching, was overrated and choose to remain single.
The question was, what would happen if they liked me as a person?
And what if... I liked them?
