《Bloodthirsty》Seth's World

Seth sat there at his secluded camp site a few days after meeting Bri's family. Her father Cassius seemed like a good honorable man, Cullum her best friend seemed well intentioned enough about keeping Bri safe, and little Basil was was an innocent little girl full of laughter and hugs. He truly enjoyed meeting her family and getting to know them in person rather than just from Brianna's quiet cute little stories about them, she wasn't shy by no means but she was extremely protective of her family, which Seth truly loved about her.
He could tell with his powers that Brianna and Cullum didn't know what he truly was, they just thought he was a Were-bear. He was unsure if Cassius could sense he was a God, he was much older than either Bri or Cullum and Seth didn't want to try and read into his thoughts fearing it might cause some problems. He didn't read Brianna or Cullum's thoughts either, just because they were so young their thoughts were almost like an open book. He would always block Brianna's thoughts when they were together but it was such a busy stressful evening he couldn't help but to hear and read their thoughts.
Sitting by the fire Seth's mind raced as he thought of what to do he had fallen hard and quick for that quirky beautiful deadly Vampire. It was so hard for him to open up to other mythological creatures, humans were easy, he just let them see the laid back Bar owner no biggie. But beings like him it was so difficult he didn't ask to be what he was or have the Genealogy he had. He knew he needed to tell Brianna who he truly was and never being one to shy away from the moment using his powers Seth flashed Bri to his camp. Seeing her appear before him as she was doing a jumping heel kick before slicing though the air with her silver daggers. He thought to himself "Yes so stunningly beautiful and so very deadly."

Just before his eyes went wide hearing Brianna's screaming voice.
Brianna
"What in the fuck just happened to me where the hell am I?
SETH WHAT DID YOU DO, SON OF A BITCH BEAR I WAS ON A MISSION FOR MY FATHER. ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME DAMN IT HELLO ANSWER ME NOW ARE I SWEAR ON RUFUS DOG BOWL I WILL KICK YOUR ASS."
Brianna stopped and looked around Seth could tell she had no clue where on earth she was at.
"AND WHERE THE HELL AM I."
Yelling and Screaming even louder
"FUCK BEAR FUCK DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE ANSWER ME.-"
Taking a few steps back from him she squeezed the handles of her daggers as she glared at him.
*Clearing his throat as he stood up walking towards Brianna.
"Ok baby please calm down I brought you here because I need to tell you some things now I can see your extremely upset so you just sit right over there and I will sit back down over here."
Brianna
*Huffing and grunting as she sat down.*
"Fine but make it quick maybe I can still kill that fucking piece of shit."
Taking a deep breath as he sat back down rubbing his palms back and forth over his jeans drying them off.
" Ok I'm so very sorry I pulled you away from a job but honestly this couldn't wait I couldn't wait any longer and truthfully it has a little to do with you being an Assassin for your clan. You know how you always nudge or poke me in the ribs asking me what's wrong when you catch my eyes dropping or I try to turn away and I always blow it off or just out right avoid it all together."

Brianna
She was still so very pissed as she tapped her foot into the dirt glaring a hole through him.
"Yes! And what does this have to do with you pulling ME OFF MY ASSIGNMENT."
Seth hung his head breathing deeply.
"How many do you think you've killed two three hundred maybe four hundred? I've killed thousands, I've wiped out Villages and tribes, all in the name of my Father Itzamna. He never even told her his father's name so the - OK WHO THE FUCK IS THAT AND WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ME BEING HERE."- look Brianna gave him was not a shocker.
"Itzamma is the Mayan creator God, you know the Maya blood sacrifices? yeah my Father is their eldest and was their most powerful God until the Spanish arrived. My mother is the Goddess Artio, she is the Celtic Goddess of wild life. Neither of them were what you would call warm loving parents, mother preferred her Animals and the wilderness and my Father had started training me to fight for his glory before I was ten. So what I am trying to tell you is that I am a God, I don't want to be but I am. I need you to know this and also to know you're the only person alive who knows this besides other Gods. I do not share this secret, this curse easily. Creatures from our world would love to know I am a god to try and curry favor with me or to take my powers. Now I hope you understand why I've been so very reluctant to just give you my blood. I have a millennia of knowledge hell from just roaming the earth not to mention literally the blood of my father's enemies. I don't know what it would do to you if I gave you more than taste of my blood Brianna. The knowledge and experience in my blood could literally drive you insane Dropping his head brushing a tear from his eye. it might even kill you. Not to mention if others found out you could become a target to get to use my powers or me in a war or even worse my Bear."
The memories of his Bear wreaking havoc shook Seth to his bones then the thought of his beautiful Brianna being someone's target to get to him made him so angry he started to tremble at what he would do to protect her and keep her safe, he was frozen with fear and for the first time in his life he was truly terrified of what was to come.
Brianna
She didn't know what to say or what to think, she had met and knew some very old powerful Vampires but none were an actual God. The only thing she knew for sure was she had to do her best to protect her Bear. She slowly crawled over to him pushing her knees over the outside of his hips curling his head into her chest.
"I love you Bear, if bad things come we will face them together and we will kill them all."
Seth kissed her neck nuzzling into her body.
"You once asked me how did a little Vampire catch my eye, do you remember
Brianna shook her head yes.
that's why my Vampire, your strong nature and your strength of will not to mention you have the sexiest lips I've ever seen."

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

Party Leveling
{A new notification has arrived.} In front of a few people, these hologram-looking messages appeared and changed their lives in entirely different forms. Things such as growing stronger, becoming smarter, feeling more agile, became possible within short periods of time from that point onwards. The one who regretted his weak healing abilities for years began to chase after the magic powers that could turn reason and sense upside down while keeping his goal, this duty to the wrongs he committed. The other one, who complained about his lack of strength, strove towards the path of an unbeatable champion to protect those he held dear. When the person who had everything found a path to desire for more, not fearing the consequences and the obstacles, he also began to walk onwards to a new life. And among them, the one who walked aimlessly but also never stepped down on the choices he made along the way, was the one who couldn’t be ignored nor disrespected by anyone. The “Player” system that they all obtained, and which granted them several abilities, knowledge and directions, was also the beginning of an entire new era in this world where monsters, magic and technology, were already common and wide-spread. There’s not a single hero, but after committing mistakes after mistakes, learning from the painful and thorny path that they take, and growing as people with the people that surround them, then someday... there will certainly be saviors. [Quick reminder that this novel is also being published in Webnovel(dot)com and ScribbleHub(dot)com]

Today was a great day. I died. It wasn't a great day because I died. No, it was a great day and I died. One has nothing to do with the other. Enough nonsense. Let's continue with the topic we're all curious about. Why was it a great day? I achieved my dream to transform my real life into an MMORPG. Grinding skills, leveling up, collecting coins, going on an adventure, and making progress on my main quest. The dream of every gamer. And no, I'm not mad. Let me give you some context before we continue. I'll keep it short, for we have more urgent matters to discuss. Art by: Roland Deaconu

"Most people say their first words when they're one or two years old. The grown-ups would get all excited and they'd tell stories about that day years later. The Devil's Bride
"I am not sleepy so why don't we tell each other a story?" Her voice was low and raspy and fuck, I'd been lying if I say I wasn't turned the fuck on. "Like what?" I ask swallowing my pride and probably my sense of direction. Her skin was on top of mine, in contact, burning. "I don't know." She says taking her time to adjust herself on my lap. I had to grip the chair for support feeling all my breath vanish from my lungs. "Maybe a short bio about yourself." She advocates placing one of her hands on my chest. I feel the contact through my shirt, my eyes trained on every movement of hers. The worst of it all was that she is unaware of what she was doing to me. "Uh-" I feel my words shorten. On impulse, I grab her by her waist for support instead. Leaning back painfully on the single chair. "You're so cute when you're confused!" She giggles going ahead to move slightly on my lap. I blow out a groan feeling my erection harden.
