《Bloodthirsty(KNJ)》31. Who Are You?

For the first time in a while, Nari was in a good mood. She was even humming a song when she left Namjoon's room. He was finally being discharged, and she was on her way to fill in the paperwork. She was over the moon!

She was so caught up in her happiness that she didn't pay attention to what was going on around her. She ended up bumping into someone, so she quickly bowed and apologized. The young man touched her on the arm and asked her if she was okay. He looked genuinely worried.

"Are you sure you're okay?" He insisted.

"I'm fine, thank you," she reassured him with a smile.

He smiled back and she walked away. He watched her go and his smile widened.

"It's good to finally meet you, Park Nari." He mumbled before walking away as well.

Nari felt like she was being watched, so she turned around and scanned the hospital halls, but no one seemed suspicious. She shrugged it off and kept walking.

Later on, she and Namjoon were finally leaving the hospital and she was so excited to have him back home! As soon as they arrived, she fed him and made sure he was showered before sending him off to bed. She boarded him just like a baby and she was about to leave when he stopped her.

"Please stay?" He said with puppy eyes.

She laughed and kissed him.

"You need to rest, baby."

"We can rest together, after some workout of course." He retorted with a smirk.

"Workout? What are you-"

He pulled her on the bed and kissed her. Apparently, he had something else in mind...

Later that night, she had woken up alone in bed, sore and hurting. She frowned and sat up. What was happening to her? She left the bed and went to the bathroom. She was completely naked and when she saw her reflection in the mirror, she gasped and looked down at her body. There were bite marks all over her chest, stomach, and thighs. How did this happen?

Did Namjoon do this? Why? He had never bit her so much before! What was going on? She turned around and saw more bite marks on her back. When did this happen?

Damn it, Namjoon! What the f*** is wrong with you?

She went back into the bedroom and wore an oversized shirt, then went after him downstairs. She found him in his studio, working on his computer. He was so focused that he didn't hear her coming. At least that's what she thought. But then, he spoke and she froze for a few seconds. She didn't even know why. Or maybe she did but she refused to admit it. The fact that his voice was different...

"Babe?"

She was still not reacting, so he turned around.

"What's wrong?"

She finally came to her senses and shook her head.

"It's nothing, what are you doing here so late? You should be resting."

"I don't need to rest, I'm fine," he said as he pulled her towards him.

She sat on his laps and looked him in the eyes.

"Are you sure you're okay?" She asked him.

"Yes, I am."

He smiled and kissed her. When he let her go, Nari watched him, then made up her mind. She wasn't going to mention it at first, but she couldn't get over it. She needed to know what was going on with him.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Why did you..." She hesitated, then continued, "why did you bite me ?"

His eyes widened and he looked down at her tighs. He saw the marks there and he touched them.

"Aww, I'm sorry. Did I hurt you?"

He didn't sound sorry at all. What the heck was going on? Since she wasn't answering, he looked up at her again and there was no guilt in his eyes either. If anything, he looked proud of what he did. She frowned and pulled her shirt over the bite marks.

"You've never done that before." She said, watching his reaction.

"And I won't do it again if you don't like it."

Now he was giving her puppy eyes? What did this mean?! He hadn't even caught up on her little trap... wait a minute!

"If I don't like it? Because you like it so much?"

He didn't answer and stared at her instead for a moment, then kissed her again on the lips, then in the neck, before biting her right where he had kissed her. She screamed and jumped away from him. She was looking at him, horrified.

"That hurt, you freak!"

He stood up and took a few steps closer to her. She took a few steps back as well.

"Stay away!"

"Why? Do you really hate it? You did cum earlier when I bit you."

She blushed but kept stepping back.

"Stay away from me, Namjoon, or I swear–"

"Oh come on, Nari. You enjoyed it, just admit it."

Then he smirked and his eyes turned gray. Nari felt like her heart had stopped. She fell down and screamed her lungs out.

And that's when she finally woke up.

Her breathing was short and she was sweating profusely. She looked around and she was in their bedroom, but Namjoon wasn't in bed. She looked down at her body and she was naked.

She ran to the bathroom and checked herself in the mirror. She saw bite marks, of course.

Wait. Again?!?!?

But fortunately, she only had one on her breast and two on her thighs. She still left in panic and wore a bathrobe before hurrying downstairs. Namjoon was in the kitchen this time and when he saw her, he smiled.

"Hey baby, did you sleep well?"

She didn't answer. She was watching him carefully, in case his eyes changed like in her nightmare. But they didn't change and his smile wavered. Now he looked worried.

"What is it? Are you okay?"

He approached her and touched her face gently.

"Baby?"

"Did you bite me?"

He blushed and let his hands fall to his side.

"Oh, I got carried away. I'm sorry baby."

"Why? You never did this before-"

"What do you mean? It did happen before, it just wasn't as many. You didn't seem to care at the time– babe are you okay?"

She closed her eyes and ran her fingers through her hair. Of course, it wasn't the first time, but the Namjoon in her nightmare didn't know that. Well, it wasn't Namjoon, it was Hyun Soo. She needed to calm down. That monster was dead, she had killed him herself.

She felt Namjoon's arms around her and she opened her eyes. He was looking down at her with worry all over his face.

"I'm sorry, I should've controlled myself. It won't happen again, I promise."

"No, it's okay. I had a nightmare, so I freaked out for nothing. Don't worry about it."

"A nightmare? Was it about... him?"

She nodded and he hugged her. Now she realized that they hadn't talked about what happened in that old mansion. He knew she killed Hyun Soo, he knew he was drugged for a few days and that she had saved him, but they hadn't talked about how they felt about everything that went down that night. Well, he did wake up only two days earlier...

"I'm so sorry about everything. Do you maybe need some time away from me?"

She stepped back and looked at him with surprise. Why would he ask her that? Did she give off the impression that she wanted to get away from him?

"Why?"

"I mean I have the same face as him–"

"So what? You're different from him, you feel different!"

"Feel?"

She blushed and looked away. She remembered kissing him and almost puked. She felt embarrassed to even think about it, but she didn't have a choice at the time. She had to do it to survive, to save them.

"You are two different people. Why would I want to get away from you?"

"So I don't remind you of him in any way?"

She looked him in the eyes again. Did Namjoon remind her of Hyun Soo? She did just have a nightmare about him, but that didn't mean anything. Namjoon was her husband and the love of her life, he would never hurt her. He had the most beautiful soul, how could he?

"No, you don't. Can we go back to bed now?"

He smiled and nodded. As they went back to bed, Nari was still thinking about her nightmare. Would he haunt her like that for the rest of her life? Did his death affect her after all? One thing was clear, though, she didn't regret killing him. She would do it over again if she could. She just wished to never dream about him anymore, that nightmare was terrifying. It was strange because she wasn't that afraid of him when he was alive and in front of her.

Namjoon put his arm over her as soon as they laid in bed, then he pulled her closer and kissed her neck.

"No biting," she warned.

She heard him laugh, then he turned her around to face him.

"I want you." He said as his eyes were darkening.

"Are you not tired?"

"I've rested enough, don't you think?"

"Riiiight, come here."

She pulled him closer and kissed him, then they both laughed. She had missed him so much. Even though he wasn't kidnapped for a long time, it felt like years to her. She could have lost him forever, and she didn't want to experience anything like that ever again. She would do what she had to in order to prevent another situation like this. She would do anything.

"Noona are you okay?"

Nari glared at Jungkook but didn't react. Then she looked down at his arm and gasped. She grabbed it and gave him a horrified look.

"When did you do this?!"

He grinned and shrugged.

"Answer my question!"

"It took three days to cover my whole arm.

"What the f** ?! Doesn't it hurt?"

"It wasn't too bad. Anyway, what's up with you?"

Nari sighed and leaned on her desk. She wasn't sure if she should talk about it yet. Maybe she was overreacting, maybe it was the hormones. The morning sickness had subdued and she was happy about it. However, the mood swings, not so much. Namjoon always knew what to say or do to put her at ease, so that was fine. But he was acting a bit differently lately and she didn't know what to do about that. They still hadn't talked about what had happened at the mansion and it had been a month already.

"It's nothing," she finally answered.

"Her hormones are going crazy right now, that's probably why she is acting weird."

Nari rolled her eyes at Soha but didn't comment. The other woman sat next to her and gave her a smile. Nari noticed her expression and smirked. She looked flustered and her lips were swollen. Her shirt was unbuttoned by one more button than when she was at her desk earlier and there was a mark on her neck. It was getting darker and despite her dark complexion, it was hard to miss.

"Talking about hormones, how was your makeout session with our dear boss?"

Soha's eyes widened and she looked like someone who had been caught red-handed doing something horrible. She was also blushing hard. Nari laughed.

"What are you talking about-"

"Oh, please, it's so obvious. Look at that hickey, awww."

Soha covered her neck and swore at her friend. Jungkook laughed and asked "did you guys ever have sex in his office? That would be so ho- ouch! Noona?!"

Soha had punched his arm and poor Jungkook was hurting like hell. How was such a petite woman so strong?

"Our sex life is none of your business, you idiot!"

"Sorry, sorry. Hyung will tell me anyway if I press him hard enough." Jungkook said with an evil smirk.

"He would never."

"We'll see about that. So noona, what's been bothering you?"

Nari grimaced. So he hadn't forgotten about it. She sighed and sat up. But then, she leaned on the desk again, so the other two did the same.

"I was thinking of something, what if Hyun Soo had switched places with Namjoon? It could be that he used some mind tricks to make us believe that Namjoon was him, then I killed him but really, it was Namjoon, and right now I'm living with Hyun Soo."

There was a deafening silence while the other two were looking at her like she came from another planet.

"I'm so confused right now, what are you even saying?" Jungkook commented as he shook his head.

"So you finally lost your mind, huh. I knew this would happen." Soha added overdramatically.

"Guys, I'm serious."

"No, you're crazy. Can't you recognize your own husband when you see him? Also, how would Hyun Soo even do that?"

"He could use hypnosis, I don't know. I've read about many cases like that–"

"Dude, your husband is your husband stop this nonsense right now."

"There is a way to confirm he really is Namjoon hyung, if that would make you feel better."

Soha cast Jungkook a dark look.

"Not you too? Are you two for real? Seriously?!?!"

"I know her, she won't rest until she has an answer."

"The answer is simple, the poor man went through a traumatic event, he was also drugged! It's obvious he wouldn't be the same after that. Even Nari isn't the same either!"

"What? Really?"

"Well, you've become more of a badass, and you're crazier if that's even possible..."

Nari thought of an operation she conducted two days earlier and how she apprehended the criminals. She had been a bit too aggressive with them, but she was losing patience at the time.

"You're more dangerous now, Nari. But interestingly enough, you smile more."

"Interesting indeed. I guess you feel happier, right noona?"

"You were talking about a way to confirm my husband's identity?"

"Do you know how stupid you sound right now–" Soha started but got interrupted by someone.

"Why would you want to confirm your husband's identity?"

They all turned around and saw Yoongi standing there, all confused. Then Jungkook answered "don't ask, hyung. Just go with the flow."

Soha had a small laugh as she finally understood why the younger man was acting the way he did. He was going along with Nari's craziness so she wouldn't delve too much into the issue. And he was right. Once she had something in mind, she would never let go until she had found a good answer.

"So what's your idea?" Soha finally asked.

Yoongi came closer and leaned on Nari's desk. He was now curious. The precinct had been too peaceful lately, so he had some time to waste. Also, he needed some distraction after the information he had just received. The peaceful atmosphere they were experiencing at the moment wouldn't last long, it seemed.

"You could ask him questions only us three or you two have answers to."

"Yeah, that's not bad."

"Then again, the a**hole stalked you guys for so long that he might actually have the answers to those questions," Yoongi commented nonchalantly.

"Oh, I didn't think of that."

There was a short silence, then Nari suddenly stood up.

"I have a better idea."

"What is it?" Jungkook asked.

"I have to go!"

An hour later, she was standing in front of their house, feeling more anxious with every second that passed by. She looked down at the bouquet of flowers she was holding and sighed. She already felt bad about what she was about to do, but she didn't have a choice. She had to make sure that she was living with her husband and not a psycho killer. The thought that she could have killed her actual husband was breaking her heart and she didn't know if she was ready to face it, but she needed to know. Whatever the outcome of this little experiment was, at least she would know where to stand.

She unlocked the front door and went in. She went through the living room and the hall with the flowers so their smell would spread, then she hid them in the kitchen. She went back into the living room and texted him again. He would be home any minute now and she had to prepare for any eventuality. In case it was really Namjoon, she had to find an excuse as to why she asked him to come home so urgently and why the house smelt like that. But if he wasn't Namjoon... she didn't even want to think about it.

Yet it was all that she could think about lately. Ever since he had been back home, he wasn't the same. She noticed that he would get nervous out of the blue and shut down. There were also times when his eyes were empty and she couldn't read him. He had acted creepy more than once. She had caught him watching her sleep a few times, and she had also caught him watching her strangely when she was in the shower.

It was okay for him to see her naked, of course. But him actually staring at her, as if she was a piece of meat was not okay. That day, she had covered herself and asked him gently to leave. He didn't move for a few seconds, then had finally left. Later on, he had acted as if nothing happened. However, since that day, he didn't try anything sexual with her.

Namjoon usually couldn't go a day without trying to get in her pants, when they were together. He really wasn't acting like himself, though he had never been violent... But Hyun Soo was never violent either during the little time she had spent in his presence. Except when he had pulled her hair, he had never actually hurt her even when she had stabbed him. He wasn't that weak at the time, he could have fought back but he didn't. Now that she thought about it, it was weird. He wasn't scared of dying. If anything, he wanted to die. He didn't beg her to spare him and he didn't defend himself when she was stabbing him either. What did that mean?

What do I care? It's not even important right now!

She finally heard the front door opening and stood up right away. She faced the door, waiting for him to appear, but she just heard him sneeze. He sneezed at least five times before even making it to the living room. His eyes were filled with tears and his nose was red.

"What the hell, Nari?! Who brought–"

He sneezed again, then coughed.

"Why are there camellias in our house?"

Time to act, Nari!

"Camellias? What are you talking about?" She asked innocently.

"You don't smell it?"

His voice was hoarse, he sounded like someone who had a cold. He covered his mouth and sneezed again.

"Baby, what's going on–"

He couldn't speak anymore and he had difficulty breathing. Nari swore and took a few steps towards him.

"I'm sorry, let's get out of here."

He just nodded and followed her out. They stayed outside for at least 10 minutes before he could breathe normally again. She had given him some tissues so he could clean his face. When he was done, he gave her a confused look.

"What was that?"

She didn't say anything and just stared at him. He was Namjoon, her Namjoon, her baby. How could she have doubted? Guilt was overtaking her at this point and she had forgotten the excuse she had prepared in case this would happen. It was really Namjoon. She was so happy and relieved. She would worry later about his change of behavior. For now, she just wanted to kiss him and that's what she did, making the other even more confused.

"What was that for?" He asked once she let him go.

They were both out of breath after the passionate kiss they had just shared. Namjoon was fighting hard to control himself because he hadn't touched her in about a week. He was also surprised that she would kiss him out of the blue after giving him the cold shoulder since he came back...

"I'm sorry," she finally said.

"For what?"

"I thought you were–"
