Instincts, everyone has them. Animals do and even humans. It doesn't matter if your instincts are animalistic or of its to protect yourself. They are just there and you either react upon it or you don't. Yet winter found herself being in a tuff place. She had been feeling this longing to just visit Arculus in the forest. This wasn't her instincts talking, this was just a gut feeling and she was aware. However she didn't understand why she felt like she had to visit him. She didn't understand why she was missing him so much.
They haven't even met long ago, and she already missed him like crazy. It scared her to found out how this all could take a turn in the future. Because a lot can change in the future. If she never stepped into that forest, if she didn't get lost. If she never listened to her friends. Than they wouldn't have met. She wouldn't have known the guy with jet black hair and dark eyes. Winter scratched her head and looked around her. Trying to ignore all the thoughts that were coming in. Yet she couldn't help herself. Thinking about him while Rev and Brian where trying to get her attention.
"Damn Winter. What are you thinking about? Snow?" Revick asked her with raised eyebrows while he dropped his pencil on his notebook.
"I'm a little distracted, sorry Rev." She told him while picking op her pencil that fell out of her hand.
"You mean a little too much right?" Brian retorted back slightly annoyed.
"I'm sorry. Math isn't really my thing." The lie escaped her mouth so easily, however everyone saw through her.
"I mean I know that Forest boy is more your thing but still." Rev told her and Brian laughed for the first time at one of Revick's jokes.
"Forest boy?" She wondered out loud with raised eyebrows.
"Yeah that is his nickname." Revick said proudly as if he won some kind of price.
"What? No I give him that nickname." Brian told Revick annoyed. The way the subject changed from being about math, to who picked his nickname.
"Guys please calm down." Winter tried to calm them down, but she learned by know that Brian and Revick were a duo where calming down wasn't a thing.
Since studying for finals where close to impossible, they left the library together. The weather was slowing changing, and winter was approaching slowly. She was looking forward to it, but she couldn't forget about all the jokes that came with it. The sky had a grey color and the trees lost all their leaves. Hands freezing and always being forced to wear a coat. Winter couldn't wait to go back to being cozy and watching movies with hot chocolade milk.
The world seemed so grey when it went back to being a cold season. Yet she found happiness in it. Maybe it was because she was named after the season, or maybe it was the fact that she could make places glow brighter. She will still miss the little flowers and the leaves or the animals that are sleeping but they will come back. Everything always came back if it was meant to be Winter figured. However it was taking him a long time to show up.

After having a long car ride back to Brian's place. They sat down on the couch and watched a movie, but they weren't really watching the movie. Brian was in the kitchen cooking and Revick was on his phone.
"Are you worried about forest boy?" Brian asked when he came back from the kitchen.
"N-no why would I?" Winter tried to lie but Revick chuckled.
"You're a bad liar Winter." Revick reminded her.
"It's just that it have been a month already. What kind of business does he have to take care of?" Winter let her frustration out. "I mean what if something happened?" Winter didn't dear to look up and meet Brian's eyes. She was scared. She had always been cared of judgment.
Brian's laughter filled the room, and Winter looked up in surprise. "He cares about you, it was all written in his eyes. So I'm sure he will be coming back, or you can also go to his place."
"Go this his place?" Winter wondered. They didn't know the fact that Arculus wasn't human at all. She can't just show up at his place without him knowing. Winter doubted he will be happy to see her.
"Yeah go surprise him or something. It looks like you do need to get laid." Revick said while keeping his eyes on his phone. Brian took one of the pillows that were on his clutch and slammed it on his face.
"Damn Godzilla What was that for?" Rev rubbed the place the pillow had been some seconds ago.
"Me and Arculus are friends Revick." Winter tried to ignore the images that came rushing into her head.
"I mean you don't have to be a couple to have sex." Revick answerd back and Brian only grew more annoyed.
"You really don't know when to shut up do you?" Brian glared at Revick.
Revick laughed and held his hands up. "I'll stop joking around but If you do miss him that much, than just go to his place." Revick stood up from the couch. "The idea isn't a bad one love, just give it a chance." Revick stood up from his seat and kissed Winter on the forehead, and waved Brian goodbye.
"Also don't make babies yet, I'm not ready to be an uncle." Revick had a grin on his face and slammed the front door shut. Leaving Brian and her all alone.
All of this made her think. Winter missed him and wanted to see him, but he had told her to wait. However Winter wanted to find him. She wanted to make her way to the forest and just watch him. Arculus didn't even have to talk to her, she just wanted to see him and walk back home. Because seeing him was enough to make her happy. It was the same feeling she got when she thought about the cozy feeling winter brought back.

A smile made its way on her face. It wasn't a good idea but she decided to go to the forest. Winter took her coat and put her shoes on and was ready to walk out of Brian's apartment.
"Wait you want me to drop you off?" Brian asked her and she shook her head.
"No I can make it by foot. See you later." She waved Brian goodby and walked out of the apartment building.
Winter had realised that it was pretty late. The moon was shining brightly and it was almost her only source of light. Lucky her the street lights weren't broken like they usually were. She remember the first time she went to the forest. Winter was terrified but this time it wasn't her first time. She knew what to expect so why was she so nervous? She wiped her sweetly palms of her trousers, and walked faster. However she stopped in her tracks. Walking around at night wasn't an good idea, in fact it never was. So she wanted to turn around and go back to Brian's place. Because she always felt safe with him, yet her legs kept going. Her body moved against her will. Making her way to the forest, she promised herself not to set foot there ever again. But Winter always made promises to herself and broke them.
When the forest came into her view and she saw the green lights from a distant it made her want to enter the forest more. When Winter heard the voices singing she smiled to herself. Winter walking into the forest and saw familiar green lights. She had been there only a few minutes at this point, and her scent already filled the forest.
He was in the middle of a meeting. Trying to figure out what he should do about the Sinners. Trying to help the other vampire packs that are now living in misery because of the Sinners. Arculus took a deep breath and his heartbeat increased. His eyes were wide open despite him being really tired. He stood up from his seat ignoring the looks on Orobas and Amdusias faces. Arculus had smelled this scent enough of times to know who it belonged too.
"Fuck." Arculus cursed under his breath.
"You make me more and more prouder every day." Orobas said after hearing the curse word that escaped Arculus mouth.
"Do you smell it too Orobias? Is it my time to go hunting?" A smile made its way on Amdusias face. His red glowing eyes making an appearance.
"Can you not show your sadistic side for once?" Orobas asked his right hand man.
The worry was slowly overwhelming Arculus by every second that passed by. He knew he could find her in an instant, but would he be the first one to reach her. It made him frustrated to why she just didn't call him on the phone, or even right now. She should have just called his name. The front door of his house opened and Arculus knew he had to hurry up.
"Amdusias come back here." Orobas screamed after him but he didn't come back.
"You're staying inside?" Arculus asked Orobas before teleporting.
"Yeah I'm too lazy I think I'm going to just go back home if you don't mind-"
"Wait you're not just going to leave me with Amdusias." Arculus complained.
"You from all people shouldn't be worried, you can handle him and his little tantrums." Orobas smiled and vanished.
Arculus teleported to the place where her scent was the strongest. The view wasn't all too pleasing. Amdusias face was inches away from Winter. He had his knifes out with an weird expression on his face. Amdusias normally brown eyes was now a red color similar to his. To his surprise Winter wasn't trembling in fear like he excepted her too. Her heartbeat was completely normal.
Arculus first instinct was the teleport himself in front of her. Keeping her behind him, and preventing Amdusias to try anything sketchy.
"You want to protect a human?" Amdusias turned around to face Arculus.
Arculus rolled his eyes. "Just stay away from her Amdusias. It's really not that hard."
"Are you forgetting what you are Arculus?" Amdusias tried to stay calm, yet he could feel how steam was escaping his ears. "A human and a demon are not supposed to interact unless it's to make them sign a contract." Amdusias glanced behind Arculus Shoulder and locked eyes with the human girl.
"Spare me the lecture." Arculus tried to make Amdusias shut his mouth.
Amdusias closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down but his attempts were failing. "I'll just hurt her when you aren't around. Let's see which part of the fucking lecture you do not want to hear." Amdusias knew he was crossing a line here, but what he just saw with his eyes wasn't okay. This wasn't okay at all.
Arculus didn't want to let rage overwhelm him,but his eyes turned red without him wanting it. "Amdusias." He warned him.
"If romance is what you want, it's useless. She will die Arculus."
"She will die eventually." Amdusias repeated his words and took one of his knife. Throwing it directed to the human girl behind Arculus. If there was one thing Amdusias was really good with, that would have been knifes.
