《BLOODTHIRSTY》13. Missing object

Counting days wasn't really Arculus thing. He was more if a 'go with the flow' type of guy. However it had been 24 days 5 hours and 32 minutes since he had heard Winters voice. It has also been that long since he started with his research. He knew the spirits didn't birth him. Which meant his parents had abandon him in this forest- but why? Why did they leave him behind and why In this forest?
His research would have already have been put to end if the spirits would actually just tell him, but they were so stubborn. No meant no, it didn't matter how many times you begged. Even if they did say yes they probably were lying to you.
Arculus watched Winter from a distance. She had been surprisingly listening to him. She hadn't been putting herself in danger. Not staying outside too much, she even stopped going to parties. Right after her classes going back to her dorm room. A smile appeared on his face when he saw her rubbing her eyes sleepy, but the smile didn't last very long on his face. The blond boy he couldn't stand had wrapped his arm around her. Arculus had to stay hidden, he had to stay invisible. Because saying goodbye a second time would be hard for him and he didn't know why. However seeing Chris this close to her made him want to just reveal himself to them, and remove Chris arm around her. But Arculus knew he couldn't do that.
The reason why he couldn't stand the sight of him was because Chris was in fact hiding something. The all were hiding something and he wanted to know what that something was.
He walked closer towards them and fixated his eyes on them. Hoping even wishing Chris would get his hands off her.
"You know math isn't difficult Winter. You just have to practice." Chris tried to cheer the girl up.
Winter rubbed her eyes again, hoping her sleepiness would fade away by doing that. "Math is just a bitch Chris. We both know that is a fact."
Her voice was still the same as it had been 24 days ago. It was soft and regardless of what she said, she always spoke with kindness.
Arculus turned away from them and went back to the forest. Walking around and watching the way the spirits were working. The ones that controlled the element water, were making sure all the plants and trees were receiving enough water. The spirits were all working on their personal tasks and watching them fly around was something magical.
"Do you need my help?" Arculus shouted and laughter replaced silence.

"Just go home kid." One of the spirits shouted and Arculus did exactly what it has asked him to do.
He walked back to his house instead of teleporting. Something didn't sit right with him when he smelled the air. The scent he was sniffing out of the air wasn't something he was used to. Which meant something unfamiliar had made its way in this part of the forest. When he saw his door wide open he started to grow more worried. Arculus and the spirits were the only one that could see the house. To anyone else it was supposed to be invisible.
Arculus rushed inside and to his surprise he found someone laying on his couch. The guy had brown curly hair and was wearing some kind of black suit. He didn't know much about suits but he did know that the suit the guy on the couch was wearing was expensive. The guy had an golden watch to match with it. Arculus approached and looked down to the guy on the couch. Suddenly the guy opened his eyes and smiled towards him. Arculus was taken-back, the guy had red glowing eyes.
"Good evening my friend getting here took awhile but I must say blame the Gods and not me." His darker skin made his eyes pop out even more.
Arculus looked at him in some way skeptical. "How the hell did you get inside and who the fuck are you?"
"I have no idea which Witch put the spell but it was weak. They really need something stronger for a high ranked demon like myself." He spoke up proudly and stood up meeting Arculus at eye level.
"Demon?" Arculus asked him with raised eyebrows unsure of what he was talking about.
"Yes demon, come on Archie we have a lot of catching up to do." The guy that apparently was a demon glanced at Arculus and suddenly gasped for air.
"Oh my, you don't mean to tell me you don't know what a demon is?"
Arculus had his eyes fixated on the curly headed guy in front of him. Arculus eyes switched back to its original red color. The demon smiled in satisfaction.
"Get out." Arculus told the guy calmly.
"I can't just get out Archie, I was send here for a reason. And I don't want to anger my father."
"You should have thought about that before breaking into my house. Now get out." Arculus was getting more annoyed with every second.
A chuckle escaped the demons mouth and walked towards the door. He closed it while having his eyes on Arculus. "You have been looking for answers right? What about we make a deal Archie. I give you answer in return you help me find something I lost."

Arculus looked confused. "Why do you need my help?"
"Because you're the key to everything." The demon stared at Arculus up and down and smiled.
Uncertainty was the only way to describe how Arculus felt. He knew that the decision he would be making today could have an impact on his future. Whatever decision he would be making could maybe even effect everyone he knew. He doesn't want to put anyone in danger. Arculus sat down closing his eyes in the hope he could bring back his state of mind that was never filled with unwanted thoughts. He wished he could go back to the he had before all the chaos, but it was a little too late for that.
"I'm Orobas one of the Prince of hell." He pulled his hand out so Arculus could shake his hand. However Arculus just started at his hand.
"What does a demon want from me?" Arculus asked him with raised eyebrows.
Orobas raised his eyebrows at Arculus. "We are the same. Well not entirely but we are almost the same."
Arculus was still confused. "And that means?"
Disappointment was written all over Orobas face. "Those damned spirits." He cursed out loud. "Couldn't they be useful and do their damned jobs." Orobas sighed and looked back at Arculus.
"You're a demon. One of the most powerful." He laughed at his own words. "Excuse me I meant to say the most powerful among us all." Orobas glanced at the black haired guy in front of him. "For reasons you had to be hidden. The deal is I tell you more about your origins and you help me find what I lost."
It was silent the thoughts came rushing in and he wanted to push them away but he couldn't. Arculus wanted to know where he came from. He wanted to know why his parents had left him here. However the spirits would have their reasons to be quiet. He figured out that they would have their reason to not say a word to him about his parents. The spirits had always told him it was to protect him from danger. They kept him here in the dark, hidden just to protect him from whatever was lurking in the darkness. However he has been in the darkness long enough. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to fear. Arculus did not know what was supposed to scare him.
It had been years, he couldn't remember the first time he came to the forest. This place was all he knows. Arculus wasn't sure if he was ready to leave yet. He had to help the animals find a safe place to have their winter sleep. He has to annoy Brasa, it was his full time job. If he chose to leave there is no going back. There is no remote to rewind.
"How did you find me?" Arculus asked him while he watched Orobas sitting down across from him.
"Well I didn't think you would be the type to like parties, but even if you never went I would have still found you. Because no one can hide from me." Orobas had a smile plastered across his face.
"Also why are you calling me Archie?" Arculus has his eyes on Orobas, watching his every move.
"Bloody hell." Orobas cursed and his red eyes started glowing brighter. "Those fuckers also whipped your memories haven't they?" Orobas sighed and glanced at his watch. Knowing he didn't have much time left to talk, he grabbed a picture out of his pockets and handed it to Arculus.
"I'll tell you everything Arculus but you'll have to accept the deal first." Arculus hesitated and looked at the piece of paper. There was an sharp looking object with silver stones engraved into it.
"This is the object you lost?" Arculus asked him and studied the picture.
"Yeah it got stollen by a group of Vampires. Man I hate those blood sucking creatures, no offence." He held his hands up in defence. "But they really made me go all the way to earth just for them." He sighed and glanced at his watch again.
Arculus rolled his eyes. "Isn't it your fault for losing it anyway?"
"I wouldn't have lost it if this stupid human girl didn't get in my way. Anyway will you except the deal?" Orobas looked at Arculus with hope in his eyes.
Arculus knew he would regret this but he nodded his head. "Okay I'll help you."
"Great I'll see you again soon." Orobas stuck his hand out and this time Arculus shook his hand and told him goodbye. With a satisfied smile Orobas vanished.
The house was completely empty again. It was just him alone again. Arculus knew the deal he had just made would bite him in the ass later on, but he was desperate. He was desperate for answers. He even made a deal with the devil. However he was one too apparently, so how badly could this really end?
