I've been getting notifications because of Zeno and Sap, so... here's a special chapter hehe

I squinted my eyes as I tried my best to awake myself. Nakakaantok pa pero kailangan ko bumangon kasi nanaginip ako ng ice cream and now I want it for real. Hindi ko na maalala kung kailan ang huli. My husband told me to stop eating ice cream before I get addicted again.

Speaking of husband, bakit wala na akong katabi?

Sumimangot ako, he didn't wake me up like he used to!

I sighed and got up, humihikab akong nagtungo sa banyo para gawin ang mga dapat kong gawin. I took a work-free day today and Zeno did the same, and we'll have dinner date later! I giggled at the thought, it still always excite me like before when we're still not married.

Nagpupunas pa lamang ako ng mukha nang marinig ko ang tunog na nanggaling sa cellphone ko.

Hubby calling...

I quickly answered it and tap the speaker mode. "Hubby!" I irritatedly called.

But like always, he just chuckled. Kaya madalas sisimangutan ko na lang siya, hindi niya sineseryoso 'yung inis ko.

"I was trying to wake you up baby, but you don't want to." He explained with a faded laugh like he knew why my voice is like that. "I had an emergency meeting earlier."

"Kahit na... dapat... dapat pinilit mo ako." Naikagat ko ang sariling labi, hindi rin kasi ako sigurado sa sinabi.

"Hmm, I'll make it up to you. What does my baby girl wants?"

Mabilis akong napangiti.

"Can you bring home ice cream then?"

Unti-unting naglaho ang ngiti ko dahil hindi siya sumagot. Silence engulfed the line for few minutes.

"Nakakainis ka naman e, magtatanong ka tapos ayaw mo pala." I added when he still didn't speak.

Ilang saglit pa bago siya sumagot muli.

"Fine," aniya. "End it now, I'll be heading home in an hour."

Hindi na ako sumagot at pinatay na lang ang tawag gaya ng sinabi niya. Hindi ko tuloy maiwasan isipin kung baka hindi niya nagustuhan ang sagot ko. I've never been irritated easily, pero kasi nakakainis talaga siya ngayon.

Parang ang bilis niya mang-inis ngayong araw...

Huminga ako ng malalim at bumaba na lamang. Dumeretso ako sa kusina, napakunot ang noo ko ng may maamoy na kakaiba.

"Hello Ma'am Sap!" bati ni Pia habang isinasalin ang sinangag sa plato.

Ngingitian ko sana siya ngunit naging ngiwi iyon dahil hindi ko na kinaya tiisin ang amoy. I ran towards the sink and tried to vomit, pero wala naman lumalabas.

"Okay ka lang, Ma'am?"

Umiling-iling ako. "Baka panis na 'yang kanin na ginamit mo, ang baho e..." sambit ko habang nakayuko sa lababo.

I gargled a water. Tatayo pa lang ako ay parang nasusuka na uli ako pero wala naman lumalabas. Naiiyak tuloy ako baka mag-alala si Zeno tas hindi niya ako bigyan ng gusto kong pagkain.

Tinakpan ko ang ilong ko at lumayo kay Pia at sa pagkain. Confusion is written on her face as she watch me step away.

"Ma'am Sap, hindi naman mabaho 'to e. Amoy galing restaurant nga ni Ma'am Yaleyna!" She joked but I just frowned. Napatigil tuloy siya at inamoy ang sarili. "Hindi rin naman ako, ma'am. Kakaligo ko lang e..."

Ngumuso ako, "Okay... just don't tell Zeno about this..." Kumunot ang noo niya sa sinabi ko. "Ano kasi, wala lang 'yun." I awkwardly chuckled.

"Itong pagkain ma'am?"

"Kung hindi naman sira, ikaw na lang kumain..."

Bumalik na lamang ako muli sa kwarto para maligo, wala akong gana kumain. I only crave ice cream today. Napagpasyahan kong silipin na lang muna ang mga iniwan kong trabaho pero wala pang limang minuto akong nakatutok sa laptop, nababagot na ako.

Ang tagal naman ng "an hour" ni Zeno.

I opened my phone and set a 30-minute timer, habang naghihintay ay nagi-sketch ako ng mga ice cream figures sa nadampot kong notebook ko. Ito 'yung sinusulatan ko ng concept ideas kasi tinatamad na ako kuhain ang sketchbook ko sa library kung saan ko iniwan.

Mabilis akong tumayo nang tumunog na ang timer sa phone ko, I hurriedly went to the balcony of our room to check Zeno. Naghihintay lamang ako roon na lumitaw ang kanyang sasakyan at makalipas ang ilan pang minuto saka ko naaninag ang pagdating ng sasakyan niya.

I smiled and went downstairs.

Sinalubong ko siya pagkalabas niya ng sasakyan, full of anticipation. Napaangat ang kilay niya, he smirk and was about to crouch down to kiss me but I grab the plastic he's holding instead.

"Wait up, baby!"

Hindi ko na inintindi ang tawag niya. Mabilis akong nagtungo sa kusina para kumuha ng kutsara. I opened the plastic only to be disappointed.

Bakit maliit na size lang ang binili niya?

I heard footsteps coming my way, umangat ang tingin ko sa kanya at sumimangot. His brows shot up at my expression.

"Why didn't you buy at least a gallon?" naiiyak na tanong ko.

He heavily sighed at that. "Gosh, it will only make you approach much sugar."

"You shouldn't have said fine,"

"I did bought you what you want."

"Naiinis ako, bakit ito lang?" reklamo ko.

Saglit niya akong tinitigan, he sat at the chair in front of me, "Are we seriously going to argue because of an ice cream? Gosh, baby that's—"

"Childish?" nakasimangot kong tanong. He just stared at me as response. Tama ako, iyon ang iniisip niya. Palagay ko rin ay nagiging childish ako pero hindi ko naman maiwasan mainis.

"The icecream will melt,"

Nalipat ang tingin ko sa tinutukoy niya. I held it and stood up. Lumapit ako sa freezer at ipinasok iyon doon. Nawalan na ako ng gana. I know I have a strict husband, pero naiinis ako sa kanya ngayon ng sobra dahil minsan lang naman ako mag-request e.

"Where are you going?"

Nag-init lalo ang mata ko nang tanungin niya ako. Iyakin naman ako noon pero hindi naman na ako iiyak sa ganito lang pero hindi ko talaga mapigilan.

"Wala, ayaw ko na kumain."

Napaawang ang labi ko sa inasta ni Sapphire. We've been married for a year now, she's still the soft spoken girl but this past few weeks. Gosh, ang bilis niyang mainis. Parang bawat sabi ko ng "no" , itatakwil niya na ako.

Oh my gosh. What's happening to my wife?

I massaged my temple and stood up to go after her, bago pa man ako makalabas nang kusina sinalubong na ako ni Pia. She's our helper we hired ever since we moved in this house.

"Ay, Sir Zeno! Hindi pa po pala kumakain si Ma'am."

My brows furrowed at what she said. Napatingin ako sa oras, it's too late for lunch. "Bakit?"

"Eh..." Napakamot ito ng ulo. "Sabi ni ma'am huwag ko raw sabihin sa inyo na nasusuka siya kanina. Tapos sabi niya pa ang baho raw ho ng kanin eh bago lang naman ho iyon,"

"Kanin?"

"Sinangang po, sir."

Tumango na lang ako at nilagpasan siya para akyatin ang nagtatampo kong asawa. She's pure like a little girl but she's never the immature person. Well, except these past few weeks...

I can't believe she really walk out on me just because of a petty dessert.

Patience, Zeno. You have a young wife.

I twisted the door knob, but it was locked. Really?

I knocked. "Wife, let me in." I said using serious tone.

I peek at my watch to see how long will she ignore me. I waited until exactly two minutes, she opened the door. Nagkatinginan kami. Her eyes are glistening due to impending tears. Ngumuso siya at tumalikod para dumeretso sa kama.

Mabagal akong naglakad papalapit sa pwesto niya. I stared at her face as I walk towards her. I pressed my lips into thin line, pinipigilan ko ang mapangiti dahil sa itsura niya. I take my wife's emotion seriously, but I can't help but to be adored by her face.

Gosh, so beautiful. I can't wait to have a daughter looking like her.

"What's our problem?" I slowly asked.

Kumunot ang noo niya at tumingala sa akin. "Naiinis ako sa iyo..." aniya at umiwas muli ng tingin.

"What did I do?"

"You knew I love to eat ice cream!" She cutely yelled. "Pero tinitipid mo ako..." Her voice cracked and her tears followed. Mabilis siyang humiga at tumalikod.

Napapikit ako. Tinitipid? My gosh what's even is that.

"I'm not," tanggi ko. "What are you thinking? Kailan ba kita tinipid?"

Bumangon siya muli at tumitig sa akin. "Now you're mad at me!"

Napaangat ang kilay ko.

Oh, I didn't know my wife has this feisty side.

"What! Maybe you're thinking I'm childish and that, that..." pahina ng pahina ang boses niya. "that you don't love me anymore." She suddenly sobbed and cried.

My mouth went agape. What did I do? I just bought that damn cold food! Gosh!

I breathed heavily before sitting at the bed beside her crying continuously. "Remember your check-up last three months?"

She sit up properly while still sobbing. Realizing what I meant, when her sugar increased again. "That's already months ago..."

"Still, baby." Mariin 'kong tugon. "And gosh, why didn't you ate lunch?"

"I only want what I asked from you e," she guiltily admitted, frowning. "Ayaw mo na sa akin?"

"Where did you get that? Gosh, your moods. I don't get it," anas ko. It's a wrong move though, she frowned and continues to cry. "Damn, I was kidding baby." agap ko at pinunasan ang luha niya.

I held her to my arms to hug her. She encircled hers to mine as well, I knew that time—our argument is finished. We embrace each other's warmth until we fell asleep.

I was awakened by my wife's supposedly irritated voice, constantly pleading to wake me up but I'm too damn sleepy. It feels as if I took a sleeping pill.

"Hubby, nagugutom na ako..."

Naimulat ko ang mata ko dahil sa sinabi niya. I remembered she didn't ate her lunch. I wasn't tired earlier but I'm really sleepy, gosh.

Pinilit ko ang bumangon at sumilip sa suot ko pang relo, it's already evening. I stilled. My eyes are only half opened when I face my wife already frowning. Nakatiklop ang mga tuhod niya sa gilid ko, halatang kanina pa ako ginigising.

"Gosh, I'm sorry wife. I was really sleepy," I explained and give her a peck on the lips. Tumayo ako at agad na naghilamos sa banyo. I need coffee. I repeatedly wash my face to awake myself.

When it already helped, lumabas muli ako ng banyo. Only to find her at the edge of our bed, quietly sitting and watching me.

Out of nowhere, my heart beats rapidly. Bigla na lang akong kinakabahan sa hindi malamang dahilan. Gosh, what's with the sudden.

I furrowed my brows directly at my wife, nginusuan lang niya ako at sumenyas na lumapit. I obliged, I squatted at her front and angled my face to see her expression more.

"I'm getting nervous of your sudden change of mood again," I admitted.

She pouted and give me a kiss in the lips. I gladly respond and pull her more when she was moving away. Suminghap siya at bahagya akong tinulak. Tsk.

I stopped unwillingly. Napairap ako nang humagikgik siya.

She smiled lovingly, "May nakalimutan ako ibigay sa iyo..."

I raised a brow.

Sumimangot siya, "Won't you ask me where?" I just stared at her that made her sigh. See? Even her sigh make her the most beautiful. "Kunin mo roon," itinuro niya ang night table.

Walang imik ko naman pinuntahan ang night table. But my system was already screaming of anticipation of something I don't know. My heart is throbbing.

I pulled the first compartment, a box huh. I just get it and came back to my wife's spot.

"Open it," She said, grinning.

As much as I wanted to calm my heart, I can't. I can only oblige quietly. Marahan kong binuksan ang kahon, there's a card.

Congratulations!

You.

What the, why did the words need to be separated at each card. I honestly don't know what to expect.

"Thank you for the suspense wife," I remarked.

"Just continue please?"

Are.

Going.

"Damn, is this—" Natigil ang paghuhula ko sana nang iangat ko muli ang card.

To be a strict dad! And together with the card is a pregnancy test.

I blinked. Napaawang ang labi ko. I looked back at my wife and to the box. Gosh! I was just thinking about it earlier!

I quickly pulled my wife and kiss her. "Thank you, baby. Thank you," I whispered in between our lips. "I can't imagine this would be possible ten years ago."

"Me too!" She giggled. "Advance happy 32nd birthday!"

Ngumisi ako, "Best gift, baby." I cupped her cheeks and kiss her once more. "Kailan mo pa alam?" I asked, suspiciously.

That explains her moods, huh. I got to deal with an impatient pregnant wife from now on. I smiled as a tickle crept to my heart.

Ngumuso siya, "I called mom earlier to tell her about how I felt bad for my actions earlier. Then she ask me few things and ask me to take a pregnancy test." Huminga siya ng malalim. "Ayaw mo kasi magising kanina pa, kaya nagpabili na lang ako kay pia..."

Oh, should be by her side when she saw the result. But that's done, maybe to our next baby.

I caressed her tummy, still small. I can't wait to see how it would grow and suit her. "I love you Mrs. Sapphire Imperial. Thank you for accepting me." I sofly stated as I press my lips on her forehead.

She giggled, "And I love you hubby for making me yours." And she sealed her lips on mine.
