" son please be careful of those kidnappers, let the police give you orders before doing anything " mom calmly warn . She didn't want me to go but she had no choice coz I was adamant to be there in this operation to help save my wife.

The police suggested that we should be at the kidnappers joint before samira's dad send the text to us. It will be a smooth and fast operation.

" let's move, let's move. I have already called for backup and they are on their way there" the officer announced and we all put on our bullet proof. The officers gave dad and I a gun since we know how to handle them. We practice how to for protection and we aldo have a license for it.

Dad move to hug a crying mom " bring back Ameera to us, Sani. Please be careful "

" I will, khadija. Wait for our arrival" he kissed her forehead and gave her a last look before walking out to follow the police.

I also hug mum before trailing behind dad.

Here goes nothing. I shall bring my wife back home safely

We found the exact house the kidnappers were staying through the tracker. It turns out to be somewhere around one of dad's property

The area is a reserve area, it's so quiet that you think there were nobody in the houses around the place. We hide far from the house so that the kidnappers wouldn't suspect anything.

Someone's phone dinged.

" he has sent it" dad said immediately he read the text. The address they sent was same with the one we track.

They won't escape

" we need to start the operation now before they move" I suggested

" No Mr Amir,we can't just go just like that. Don't forget your wife is with them and they might hurt her if we attack just like that without a plan"

" then what do you suggest we should do? " I whispered yelled. I just want to save my wife.

" firstly, your dad will go in as expected since they demanded for him."

" dad can't just go in alone, he needs backup"

" just wait let him finish talking, amir" dad warn

" As I was saying, after your dad go inside, six of the officers will go in few minutes after he is inside the house to avoid any suspicion . They will protect him and next, the remaining of us will surround the compound " he explained

" but I also want to be inside the house with the six police men, I want to be there to help save my wife"

" Mr Amir, the officer will do a clean job. You don't need to worry with that"

" what do you mean I don't need to worry with that. My wife is in there and I won't be able to calm down knowing that she is inside and I'm out here doing nothing "

Dad rose his brows at me " so now you know that she needs you. You should have thought of that before you divorced her"

" please dad let's not go there right now"

" Gentlemen,you need to be quiet if not they will suspect that their are people out here" the sergeant quietly scolded

Dad and I quiet down immediately. We wouldn't want anything bad to happen to Ameera.

The sergeant sigh " OK then, you will go in with the six officers. " he called out the officers name and they came forward.

" don't forget stay in you position, no mistakes. Stay hidden from the people inside but when things are about to go wild don't waste time to show us a signal and the rest of us will come in to join you. Make sure the lady is safe. I repeat, stay hidden from them"

" do I make myself clear? "

" yes sir" they all shouted.

" Good. Mission begin. " he turn to dad " Alhaji bula , call them that you're already here"

Dad nodded and did what he was asked to do.

" what did they say? " asked the sergeant immediately dad was done with the call.

" they said someone is coming to get me inside and they asked if I involved the police to which I said no"

" Good. Now you need to walk to the gate before the person come to get you and don't worry, we will come in few minutes after you"

Dad nodded before looking at me like saying ' I will save your wife'. I nodded at him even if he didn't say it out, I understood.

He turn and walk towards the house. The next thing, someone opened the gate for him and he entered inside.

The bulky man opened the door for me and then search my body if I had anything on me. Already, the police collected the gun I was holding coz they suspect that the first thing the kidnappers will do to me was to search me.

After the man didn't find anything on me, he told me to walk and I did as I was told without any question. We reached the main door, that was when he opened it with a password and pushed me inside.

" finally" someone said immediately I was pushed inside. When I regain my stance, I look round the room and was met with strange faces but only one looked familiar.

" hassino? " I whispered unsure

" welcome my friend. Are you surprised to finally see me again? " he asked arrogantly and walk forward to stand facing me.

" where is my daughter in-law " I asked for the main reason I was here. I don't have time to chitchat with this cursed soul.

" Straight forward are we"

" where the hell is she? I demand to see her right now " I gritted out while he only stood with hand pocketed with a mocking grin

" Answer me" I demanded

He laugh out loud " so you think you have guts to order anyone here? Don't forget that you're in my territory. "

" what do you want from me?"

" Good question. Let's see, what did I want from you" he pretend like he was thinking about it.

He click his two finger" bingo. Now I know what I need from you"

" just say it already "

" firstly, I want you to be tied up on that chair over there " he said while pointing at the chair .Before I know it, two bulky men drag me toward the chair and tied me up

I struggled on the chair to loosen the rope but it was too tied.

" sani,..sani,..sani" he called out and tut in a teasing manner " you still don't get it, you are never going to get out of here with your daughter in-law only if I get what I want"

" then tell me what you want dammit " I shouted.

" This man has liver ooh" he mocked with the remaining people in the room. The all laughed at me. I noticed that it was only one lady among the people.

Could that be his daughter?

" Dad, just deal with him" the lady said

So after all she is his daughter. Like father like daughter. I can't believe that Amir my son actually went out with someone as heartless as the lady. That boy is a fool sometimes

" I'll get to that samira " hassino answer, bringing me out of my thoughts.

" is it money you want? Just name it and all will be yours I promise " I desperately said

" I want more than that"

" Then say it already "

" I want your company, all of it"

" what!!? .... No... You are not getting that. I work hard to build that company. Just name something else"

" That what I want. It a deal or no deal?"

" No, hassino you can't do that to me. I will give you my house instead but please not the company. I beg you"

He didn't answer instead he turn to one of the bulky guys " bring the girl in"

Thirty minutes after dad was in, the six police men and I went inside after him. We pass through the back door, we were lucky enough that it was opened. We quietly entered, all of us stood alerted in case of any danger. We divided our selves into three groups. I and one of the officer while the rest were also grouped

Two groups went to take down whosoever bodyguard the find around this building except the one in the sitting room while my group hide very close to the sitting room. We peep inside the room and was met with up to ten armed men and two other men sitting on a chair with samira in the middle, one of the men sitting was Aliyu Turaki , the man who made my life miserable at the office .

My dad was tied on a chair looking desperate to be set free and a man stood over him confidently.

" bring in the girl" the man had said. I'm definitely sure the girl they are talking about was Ameera.

" let's move, the bulky man is coming over here" the officer I was partner with whispered.

As the man was about to come out of the sitting room to where we are, we quickly hide inside a room.

" please don't hurt the girl, hassino. She is innocent. After all, it is I you want and here I'm. Hurt me not her please" I begged. Something I have never done before. I have never low my standard to beg.

Hassino didn't answer me. The bulky man came back in with a weak Ameera. She was just kidnapped for two weeks but already, she is looking so thin and weak.

She met my eyes and was shocked of seeing me here. The man held her with a knife around her neck tightly, She look so scared.

" please let her go"

" I promise to let her go if you sign this documents. I'm sure you remembered the documents, the exact same one my worker tukur stole from the company with the help of the secretary. It says here that the company is owned by Amir and his signature is there, so I made a new documents with my name as the owners and my signature is also there. The only thing I want you to do is to sign that empty space over here" he pointed at the side I'm going to sign

" please don't sign it. Please don't. Even if you sign it they won't set us free, they are monsters daddy" shouted Ameera in a strain voice.

" shut her up" hassino yelled angrily

The bulky man slapped her hard on the face

" no please let he go"

" you better sign the paper if you want to save her and the baby "

a baby? What baby?

" what do you mean by a baby? " I asked confused

" wow, so you don't know that your daughter in-law is pregnant?. This is actually getting interesting"

" please don't hurt them"

" then sign the paper "

" don't sign it daddy. Thay plan to ki.........

Ameera tried saying but the bulky guy quickly cover her mouth so it came out in a muffled voice.

" sign the damn papers sani. If not I'll kill the girl" gritted hassino as he pointed a gun at ameera

" OK fine, I will sign the damn paper. Give me the pen"

He hand the pen over to me and I took it to sign and like magic the pen wasn't writing. I tried it again but it still didn't write.

Hassino noticed it too so he asked for a pen but no one in the sitting room has it here with them. Then, he ordered the same bulky guy holding Ameera to go get the pen in a room close to the sitting room. The bulky man pushed Ameera to the other bulky guy who caught her quickly before she falls down.

I was in rage when that stupid guy slapped my beautiful wife. How dare him lay his stupid hands on my wife?. I wanted entering the sitting room but the officer held me back.

" don't go in just yet. The man is coming over here to take the pen they sent him to get. What we are going to do is to knock him out. " the police suggested and I agree with him.

In fact I'll be the one to knock him out. He will regret ever laying his hand on Ameera. We heard sound of foot step ,we quickly hid behind the door. After the man got inside, I jammed the door. The man look startled and quickly turn around to see who was behind him.

" Today, you will regret ever being born" he wasn't able to process what I meant coz I hit him hard on the head with the vase in my hand.

" I think it's time we face those bastards. Send the signal to the sergeant and the remaining officers inside the house. I'm sure by now they've already taken down the bodyguards lingering around . Tell them to come in right now "

The officer nodded and quickly sent the signal to all of them. After he was done we both walk out of the room to face the bastards in the sitting roon.

what's taking him so long? " hassino asked annoyingly

I only sat quiet praying in my mind for the safety of my daughter in-law and her unborn child . She look drain but never stop fighting. She kept struggling with the man holding her .

She really is a fighter.

" Samira go in and check on Badoya, I'm sure he got lost on what room to enter"

Samira stood up to do what her father asked her to do

" you don't need to. I'm sure by now he is regretting ever touching my wife. "

A very familiar voice said with so much anger

They all looked at me in shock as I entered together with the police man. The others would soon join us.

" what? Are you all surprised?. Well don't be coz your end has come. "

I raise my gun and pointed it at samira's dad. I went close to drag him by the neck.

" if any of you move closer, I'm going to shoot him. Don't try me" I said through clenched teeth to the body guards all prepared to shoot.

" lower your guns" samira's dad ordered as I held him around the neck tightly. They obeyed.

" Good"

" now, I want you to release the lady" I said to the guy holding ameera

" over my dead body will I allow it" said samira as she also pointed her gun at a weak ameera

" drop your gun samira or else I'm going to shoot you dad" I ordered

" I'm sure you also don't want me to shoot your wife over here" she said as she move more closer to ameera

" WATCH OUT" a new voice shouted and gun shot was heard.

It was the sergeant and the remaining crew, he just saved me from being shot by Aliyu Turaki who is now lying lifeless on the floor.

" drop your weapons" the sergeant order. No body moved only guns were pointed at each other.

Ameera struggled in the hand of the bodyguard holding her. Before we know it, she hit him right where the sun shine.

" urghhhh" he shouted in pain and let go of her immediately.

That was the time guns were shot. The police were firing at the kidnappers and vice versa. I went forward to get Ameera from where she was using as shield from being shot. She look so weak.

The officers are enough to take them down.

" Amir? " she asked unsure " it's you, "

" yes it's me Ameera, we need to get out of here now"

I pick her up bridal style trying to dodge the gun shots being fired everywhere.

" watch out amir " Ameera shouted

I quickly dodge it before it get to me. " thanks love" I said with a smile

We were about to go out but stopped by the voice of samira

" I will shoot if you take another step" she had said

I turn to look at her with Ameera still in my hand " don't do this, samira. Just let us go "

She smirked at me " you think you can outsmart me? I will make sure to kill this bitch you call a wife first before I kill you"

I gently put Ameera down in a standing position and stood in her front for protection. I won't let samira hurt her or my child.

" move out of the way, amir" shouted samira

" no I won't, it's either you shoot me or you let us walk away freely"

" over my dead body. Your wife has to die today" she yelled and prepare the gun to shoot. I ran to get the gun out of her hand. We were struggling for the gun. Suddenly, we heard a shot and I notice that I wasn't shot, same with samirai but the chocking sound I heard answered my question on who got shot.

Ameera was the one shot

" AMEERA" I shouted as I ran to her lifeless body on the floor

" Ameera please don't leave me, please "

She painfully smile at me " I love you " with that, she became unconscious

" HELP"

" you need to wait outside, sir. We will do our best to save your wife" the doctor close the door at my face.

I was pacing round the ward in worry. please Allah, save my wife for me. Please don't let her die please ya Allah. I won't forgive myself if that happens.

" son, please calm down. Ameera will be saved same with the baby" mom sadly said

I looked at mom " how can I calm down, when the love of my life is in that room fighting for her life. How can I mom? "

I broke down in tears

" Stop crying Amir, the only thing Ameera needs right now is your prayer. Tears wouldn't do anything to her, pray for her son"

" I'm praying mom, I want my wife to survive this"

" she will, son. She will"

When Ameera got shot at the operation, one of the police help me out of there and we brought her straight to the hospital. I still haven't heard any news from dad, we don't know if they had capture the goons or not. I just pray they didn't escape.

" son, why don't you call the police . I tried calling your dad but his phone is switch off. "

I nodded and brought out my phone to call the sergeant. " hello, officer"

" Mr amir. We just finished the operation and now heading to the station with the culprits. But unfortunately, we have a bad news"

What bad news?

"don't tell me you weren't able to arrest them all"

" No that's not it, infact we arrest them all"

" Then what is it? "

"Your dad was shot "
