A MONTH LATER
ring
hey, n/n. are you reaching soon? the team's waiting.
it's fine, babe.
daichi: chuckles
yeah, the boys were so happy when we finally won. the look on ukai's face was priceless. i really hope we win against kamomedai though, i'm nervous and don't have a good feeling about this.
y/n:sigh
wow. i didn't know you were so wise. i expected you to be like "if ya win, ya win. ya lose, ya lose."
joking, joking. thank you so much. your words helped me.
okay.
beep
IN REAL LIFE
"i'm here!" i panted.
i ran into daichi's arms and he caught me before i could fall to the ground. i had been running for the past five minutes, and i'm surprised it didn't show when i was on call with daichi. i bowed down and apologised to the team for being late.
you see, i went to a convenience store to get candy, chips and soda. though, i lost track of time and had to rush over here. we boarded the bus and i took a seat next to daichi. the trip to the gymnasium was filled with nishinoya, tanaka and hinata singing random pop songs while the third years laughed their asses off. i finished at least half of my snacks and i could feel the pimples growing on my face.
once we reached, i kept my stuff in my bag and entered the gym a bit later than the rest. the boys had already warmed up earlier but decided to let off some steam by practicing their moves. after a few minutes, they had to stop and the match started.
the match went by like a flash. we had lost. the score was 1-2. tears streamed down the teams faces as they stepped off the court. i opened my arms wide and embraced daichi in a tight embrace. he cried onto my shoulder and i didn't care that my clothes were soaked. i needed to be there for my boyfriend.

"i'm right here, babe. c'mon, let it all out." i whispered into his ear.
daichi lifted his head off my shoulder and looked into my eyes. his eyes were red and puffy while mine had tears threatening to fall. i planned to cry later, when we were at the motel but i couldn't hold it in. soft sobs turned into loud ones, and the team was completely depressed. they thanked the crowd for supporting them and dragged themselves to the bus.
take-chan and ukai were pretty upset about their loss too. they knew how much the boys were looking forward to this. daichi and i held hands as we boarded the bus. i felt sorry for the brunette. i knew that he was thinking negatively of himself now.
i sat next to him again, and the only sounds that could be heard were the sobs of karasuno's members. sugawara seemed to have calmed down and was helping the others to calm down too. what a sweetheart. i offered daichi my snacks from earlier that day and he took them.
"remember what i said over the call?" daichi nodded.
"good, now let that all sink in. everyone here played well, okay? i am extremely proud of you. nobody thinks lesser of you now. in fact, everyone thinks higher of you for letting out your feelings and doing your best out there." i rubbed circles on daichi's back as i said that.
my words calmed him down and before i knew it, he was fast asleep. he looked so cute and peaceful. i was completely in love with sawamura daichi and there was no denying it.
...
click. i unlocked my front door and let daichi in first. the first thing he did was plop onto my couch and moo jumped into his arms. i guess she could tell something was up. i took out an ice cream cake out of my freezer and placed it on my coffee table, along with two spoons. i switched on my tv and opened netflix, turning on [favourite show].

daichi and i had a [favourite show] marathon that night, cuddling with each other and moo. i knew he needed some quiet for now so i waited for him to say something. i finished the last bite of the ice cream cake and turned my head to admire daichi. he noticed me staring and looked at me in confusion.
"is there something on my face?" he croaked, his throat was dry but his voice was still deep and attractive.
"no, there isn't. i just love to see your face." i confessed, flattering him.
i moved closer to daichi and wrapped one arm around his waist and placed my other hand on moo, petting her gently. daichi wrapped his arm around my shoulder and placed his other hand on his knee.
"i love you so much. i want to marry you."
"i love you so much too. i'd gladly spend the rest of my life with you."
it didn't matter who said what. we were in love. the only thing that mattered was that we had each other.
speaks!
