My eyes continued to remain on the mark on my wrist, my head shot up when I felt someone tap my back, looking over to see Stiles looking confused. "Where is Scott?"
My eyes scanned the whole classroom but I couldn't find Scott anywhere. Where was Scott? I looked over at Stiles. "I don't know." I whispered back.
"Just a friendly reminder." Mr. Harris' voice came bombarding into my ears, making me look at him. "Parent/teacher conferences are tonight." I huffed putting my hand against my forehead, sighing in annoyance. "Students below a "C" average are required to attend. I won't name you, because the shame and self - disgust should be more than enough punishment." I rolled my eyes at his words. "Has anyone seen Scott McCall?" Instantly Satan's pawn looked down at me.
I shrugged at him not saying a word. The sound of a door opening caught everyone's attention, looking up to see Jackson entering class grumpily. I crossed my arms watching Mr. Harris walk over to Jackson. "If you need to leave early for any reason, you let me know."
"Everyone, start reading Chapter Nine." Mr. Harris said, walking up to the front of the class. "Mr. Stilinski." He called out. "Try putting the highlighter down between paragraphs. It's chemistry, not a coloring book." The whole class chuckled, I furrowed my brows looking over to see him shooting the highlighter top out of his mouth and landed straight into his hand.
I chuckled shaking my head, turning back to the front of the class. Stiles leaned over my shoulder towards Danny who was sitting beside me. "You're a little too close don't you think?" I said, sarcastically.
"Shh!" He scolded "Hey, Danny can I ask you a question?" Danny and I both shared a look. I sucked in a breath shaking my head, in annoyance.
"No." Danny answered simply with a smirk.
Stiles huffed. "Well, I'm going to anyway." He said stubbornly. "Um, did Lydia show up in your homeroom today?"
"No."
I turned my face, gasping realizing how close Stiles and I's face were. I quickly turned my head back the front of the class. "You are invading my personal space." I uttered in annoyance.
"Can I ask you another question?" Stiles proceeded to ask Danny once again.
Danny sucked in a breath. "Answer's still no."
"Does anyone know what happened to her and Jackson last night?" I froze, something did happen that night in the movie store but I don't remember any of it.
Not one memory is coming to my mind. "He wouldn't – tell me." He stuttered out, while shaking his head.
"But he's your best friend." Stiles continued, making me plop my elbow onto the table and place my hand under my chin as I sighed in annoyance. "One more question." Oh my god. Where is he getting all these questions from?

Danny looked over at Stiles completely annoyed. "What?" He snapped, completely irritated by Stiles.
Stiles leaned closer bursting my personal bubble. "Do you find me attractive?" He asked. Oh Stiles...
Within seconds I hear a loud crash turning around to see Stiles on the ground causing me to burst into fits of laughter, earning a death stare from Stiles who was on the ground. "I think that made you look attractive." I said sarcastically, causing him to throw daggers at me with his eyes.
He narrowed his eyes at me. "Someone tickle me, I forgot to laugh." He shot back, collecting himself up from the ground and putting his chair back to normal before taking his seat again.
I cupped my mouth continuing to let out little laughs.
Slamming my locker shut jumping in surprise when I saw Stiles standing there leaning against the other lockers. "Dear god, Stiles!" I placed my hand over my heart that was beating quickly due to the fear.
He smirked at me, but soon his smirk dropped. "You know where Scott is?" He questioned, making me frown at his question.
"I was just going to ask you the same thing." I sighed, running a hand through my hair.
Stiles put his lips in a line, slipping his phone out of his pocket. "I'll give him a call." I nodded my head, he turned around walking away.
I huffed leaning against the locker, feeling my phone vibrate taking my phone out to see a text from...him. I rolled my eyes deleting the text from Rafael and deleting it without even reading it.
My head shot up when I felt an appearance beside me. "Hey." Jackson greeted, awkwardly.
I furrowed my brows as a small smile fell against my lips. "Hi." I greeted back in the same tone, except mine was more hesitant.
"Look. I came here to apologize..." My eyes fell on his neck, stepping closer to him. "I was wonder-" I cut him off by reaching up to touch his neck but his hand grasped my wrist preventing me from touching it.
"Jackson. What happened to your neck?" I asked as he let go of my wrist.
He placed his hand on his neck covering it, almost as if he was hiding it from me. "Nothing." He cleared his throat. "Back to what I was saying, I apologize for being a jerk to you and was hoping we could still be friends."
"I had a crush on you and you were the first girl to reject me. I guess the only reason I was being a jerk to you was because you rejected me." I chuckled. "I want us to start over."
"Apology accepted." I smiled up at him. He sighed in relief, as a smile of victory appeared on his face. "Anyways, I need to get going. I'll see you later." I told him, giving him a pat on the shoulder.

Sending him one last smile before walking away from him and continued down the hall looking for Stiles.
I was leaning against Stiles' jeep, crossed arms. "Stiles for the hundred time I can't come with you to Lydia's." I repeated again, he sighed running a hand through his hair.
"Why?" He asked once again for the hundredth time.
I rolled my eyes. "I told you that I'm meeting with a friend." I responded, he looked at me with a weird look.
"How do you have other friends besides me and Lydia when you hate people?" I bit the side of my cheek, knowing he was going to catch on.
"Yeah but this was before I hated people..." I lied. He narrowed his eyes at me.
He knows I'm lying..."You've always hated people." He stated, catching on.
I sucked in my cheeks. "Don't you want you and Lydia to be alone?" I asked sending him a wink, trying to change the subject.
His face changed as he thought about it. "Fine, but do you want me to drop you off?" He asked. I instantly shook my head.
"No, it's fine." I responded quickly, causing him to look at me with another weird look. "You should head on." I motioned, leaning off his car.
He looked at me hesitantly before nodding his head and walking towards the jeep, climbing in. I stepped back watching as he pulled out of the parking lot and drove off.
"Hey!" I heard someone call out from behind me, turning around to see Jackson walking towards me. "Do you need a ride? Cause if you do I can drop you off." He offered, I opened my mouth to say no but a thought came to my mind how would I get to Derek?
"If it isn't a problem." I said pushing my hair out of my face.
He chuckled. "I just offered you a ride. So it isn't a problem." I couldn't help but suppress a laugh. "Let's go." He walked towards his car with me trailing right behind me.
I opened the passenger side, sliding in and strapping my seatbelt. "Can you drop me off somewhere else?" He looked over at me, nodding his head in response.
"Yeah. Where at?" He asked. I stared at him, swallowing roughly.
I climbed out of Jackson's car as I stood at the side of the road. "You sure it's here?" He asked unsure through the rolled down window.
I nodded my head. "Yeah it is." I reassured. "You should head on home. Thank you for the ride." He looked at me uncertain, before nodding his head.
"Be careful." He told me, I nodded my head as he drove off leaving me alone near the woods.
I bit my lip turning towards the woods and slowly entering them, looking at my feet watching my steps making sure I wouldn't trip over anything. I clutched onto my bag tighter the further I entered the woods, slowly stopping when my eyes landed on the Hale mansion.
I stepped forward slowly and undecidedly, pushing all the hesitation away and entering the mansion without thinking to knock or anything. I crossed my arms, walking further into the mansion and entering the living room to see Derek doing pull ups by the door frame.
My eyes landed onto the tattoo placed onto his back, looking further at the tattoo to see no tiny hale written on the bottom of the tattoo like mine. "What are you doing here?" I heard him say causing me to freeze, watching him continue to do his pull ups, three more time before turning around to face me.
I stepped back, playing with my hands staring into his forest green eyes which caused my heart to skip a beat. "I needed a question to be answered." I responded, breathing out shakily.
Derek walked closer to me caused my breath to hitch in my throat. "You don't remember anything from the movie store, do you?" He asked, my lips fell open slightly.
"No." I answered, shortly.
I gasped when he placed his hand under my chin causing sparks against my skin. "How are you feeling?" His voice was husky. It caused chills over my body.
"Good." I continued with the shot answers, silence fell over the both of us. "A mark appeared on my wrist." I broke the silence causing him to remove his hand from my chin.
"What mark?" He asked, coldly.
I put my lips in a line, showing my wrist. "It was burning and got all red until today I woke up with this mark on my wrist." His hand grasped my wrist causing me to swallow roughly at the spark and shock attacking my skin.
His thumb rubbed against it. He sucked in a breath as a small frown appeared on his lips. "Faith really doesn't want me to stay away from you." I looked up at him confused. "It wants me to lure you into my dangerous life." He continued to utter, letting go of my wrist turning his back to me.
I sucked in a breath taking tiny steps towards him, grabbing his arm. "What is it?" I couldn't help but ask, causing him to suck in a breath.
He turned around, looking down at me. "We're more than mates." He replied, causing me to narrow my brows. "Scott can't separate us." I struggled to swallow my saliva as I stared up at him. "We are together..." He trailed, looking down. "Forever." He breathed out.
My eyes snapped over to my wrist, before I looked back up at him.

That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. Beyond the Veil
Martin's life would never be the same. He somehow survived a massacre by shady men in black, only to discover they were conspiring with the police. What was he going to do now? But where one life ends, another life begins. One that will learn of magic, and the world beyond the veil. This is a complete rewrite of my first story, The World Beyond the Veil. This is not the same story. Not even a single sentence has been copy-pasted from the original fiction. Readers of the original will recognize a lot of elements, but there are more and more differences as the story progresses. The fiction is planned as a trilogy. The first volume is published. Regarding one of the tags:Sexual Content: There are no explicit sex scenes in the story. On the other hand, it is definitely a story meant for an adult audience, with plenty of references to sex and genitalia. If you're not comfortable with that, maybe steer away from this story. I am very interested in feedback. Let me know if you spot a plot hole or something else that seem off to you.
