《Healing Hearts ❤ Derek Hale ✔ (Under construction)》(1x3) Pack mentality, part 2 ✓

Lunch had started, the three of us walked towards our table in the cafeteria with trays of food in our hand "But dreams aren't memories." Stiles declared.
"Then it wasn't a dream." Scott noted. "Something happened last night, and I can't remember what." He admitted, as we took our seats at the table we chose. I sat right beside Scott while Stiles sat across from us. we set our trays of food in front of us.
I sighed pushing my hair back in annoyance. "Scott, I reassure you we will figure this out and find out if it was a dream or a memory." I told him, leaning back against my chair.
"And what makes you so sure Derek even has all the answers?" Stiles asked, causing me to freeze in my spot. I sucked in a breath, just hearing his name causes my heart to flutter. He was my mate after all and we still haven't talked about it as much.
If Scott finds out about Derek and I being mates, he will go crazy. I sighed putting my hand on my forehead as my elbow plopped onto the table. "Because during the full moon he wasn't changed, he was in total control while I was running around in the middle of the night attacking some totally innocent guy." I shivered not wanting to even think of that. I placed my hand on his shoulder giving it a light squeeze.
"You don't know that." I spoke up, giving him a reassuring look. "No matter what step you take I will take it with you and we will find out what happened. Just like how you promise me that you'll always be there for me when Rafael..." I sucked in a breath.
He looked at me with a sad look growing upon his face watching my eyes water as my hand was covered by Stiles, who squeezed it comfortingly. I hated talking about what happened between my dad and me.
Scott wrapped his arms around me pulling me into a comforting hug before we both pulled away. "I can't go out with Allison." Scott changed the subject. "I have to cancel." Stiles shook his head instantly.
"No, you're not cancelling, okay? You can't just cancel your entire life. We'll figure it out." Stiles reassured, preventing Scott from canceling it.
If Scott bails on her again, I don't think I can fix it to where she could give him a second chance. "Figure what out?" Lydia's voice came bombarding in our ears as she sat down right next to Stiles.
"Just-" Scott paused. "Uh Homework." He made up a lame excuse.
Stiles sat there frozen with a french fry held to his lips, he leaned over to us. "Why is she sitting with us?" He whispered, glancing between the two of us.
Scott and I shrugged at the same time in response, looking up to see more of people coming over to see, Danny, Allison, Jackson, and some guy that I've never seen before. "Get up." Jackson demanded the guy from across from me.
The guy who was sitting across from me looked up at Jackson. "How come you never ask Danny to get up?" Did they have to come sit right beside us, there is a thousand more tables and they decided to sit right at our table. Nice.
"Because I don't stare at his girlfriend's coin slot." Danny shot back. The guy muttered something under his breath, standing up from the seat and walking away, Jackson took his place across from me making me roll my eyes as soon as he smirked at me. My appetite slowly faded, making me start poking my food. "So I hear they're saying it's some type of animal attack." My eyes snapped up to Danny. "Probably a cougar." He guessed.

"I heard mountain lion." Jackson said.
I placed my fork down. Is he really that stupid? Or is he playing dumb? "A cougar is a mountain lion." Lydia froze when she realized she said the smartest thing ever, but of course her being Lydia. "Isn't it?" She played it off making me shake my head.
"Who cares? The guy's probably some homeless tweaker who's gonna die anyway." I scoffed at his comment. I seriously don't like him because all he cares about is himself.
"Actually, I just found out who it is." Stiles cut in. "Check it out." Everyone at the table turned to Stiles, who was on his phone.
Everyone crowded around the phone to see what Stiles was showing us, with the news. I examined the picture that popped up on the screen. "Wait I know that guy." Scott cut in, causing everyone to look at him.
"You do?" Allison asked.
"Yeah, when I used to take the bus back when I lived with my dad." He explained. "He was the driver." I leaned back against my seat not feeling the need to talk about this anymore.
"Can we talk about something slightly more fun?" Lydia asked, the same time my phone lit up causing me to look down and see an unknown number.
I furrowed my brows not having any idea who this was. I sucked in a breath locking my phone back up and standing up from my seat, Scott looked over at me. "I need some air." I excused myself from the table and walked away from the rest.
I quickly made my way out of the school with questions running in my mind. Could it be Derek? Possibly. I pushed the doors of the school entrance opened walking out and instantly my eyes landed on Derek hale standing there leaning against his car looking down at his phone but his head shot up meeting my eyes causing butterflies to awaken in me.
I walked up to him confused. "Hello." I said as soon as I stepped in front of him.
He stared down at me quietly. "I came here to see what happened." He motioned to the caution tape.
I played with my hands. "Yeah..." I trailed, looking back at the crime scene. "Scott is planning on coming to you for help. I wanted to give you the heads up." He stared down at me with his perfect green eyes.
"My help?" He said, looking shocked and surprised at the same time.
I continued to stare at him quietly, getting lost into his perfect green eyes. "You have beautiful eyes." I gasped, realizing what I said making me step back. Derek's mouth twitched almost like wanting to smile but he continued to hold his emotionless face. "I didn't mean to say that out loud." I pushed my hair back, blushing madly.
My heart fluttered when his finger went under my chin, staring down at me with his perfect mysterious face. "I'm not the only one with a bad past." He whispered, looking down at me making me stare at him confused. "I can see it in your eyes." I sucked in a breath looking at him hesitantly.
"Derek...What did you call me out here for?" I asked, as soon as he pulled away from me.
He stared at me hesitantly. "I needed to see you." I froze in my spot staring at him with my heart fluttering, before I could say anything else he cut me off. "I need to go. Be careful." He walked towards his car and slipped inside.

I backed up as he backed out and drove off out of the parking lot. My eyes followed the car until it disappeared from sight, my gaze went to the bus one last time before I interlocked my hands and walked back inside the school.
I walked back into the cafeteria and at the right time I heard Jackson speak. "You know what else sounds fun? Stabbing myself in the face with a fork." I raised an eyebrow watching him hold the fork to his face.
"I think it'll be even more fun if I did it for you." I said as soon as I sat down causing Stiles to spit his water out as he laughed silently, hiding his disgusting action.
I winked at my best friend causing him to continue to laugh. Lydia grabbed the fork from Jackson placing it down. "How 'bout bowling?" Lydia suggested, turning to Jackson. "You love bowling." She stated.
"Yeah, with actual competition." Jackson said, staring at Scott mostly.
Isn't this just beautiful. "How do you know we're not actual competition?" Allison asked, turning to Scott. "You can bowl, right?" My eyes widen, as Stiles and I both shared a look.
"Sort of." Scott lied, causing me to send him a look. Sure...He can. After what happened last time, I promised myself to never go bowling with him again. I held my laugh at the memory of what happened that day.
"Is it sort of yes, or no?" Jackson continued to push making me shake my head in annoyance.
Just speak the truth Scott, there is nothing wrong with being terrible at bowling. "Yes." Scott lied causing mine and Stiles' eyes to grow wide at the same time. "In fact, I'm a great bowler." Oh god. You are nowhere near a good bowler.
What an idiot.
Scott slammed his head against his locker as Stiles and I both stood there. "You're a terrible bowler!" Stiles exclaimed, pointing out the obvious.
"I know! I'm such an idiot." Scott muttered.
I chuckled. "You just found that out?" I commented, causing Scott to shoot me a look. "And do you remember what happened last time we went bowling?" I asked, with a laugh as Stiles soon joined in obviously remembering. Scott continued to glare between us. "You put hole in the ceiling and let's not forget the ground as well." I reminded, causing him to cringe at the memory.
Stiles bursted out laughing. "God, it was like watching a car wreck. I mean, first it turned into the whole group date thing. And then out of nowhere comes that phrase." Stiles said, talking about what happened in the cafeteria.
"Agreed, it got worse and worse by the minute." I leaned against the locker.
"Hang out." Scott corrected.
"You don't hang out with hot girls, okay?" Stiles continued to explain. He glanced at me as I raised a brow at him. "Layla you're hot too but this is different it's like death. Once it's hanging out, you might as well be her gay best friend." I bursted out laughing at his comment. "You and Danny can start hanging out." I let out a little chuckle.
"How is this happening?" Scott groaned out. "I either killed a guy or I didn't." He said out of frustration.
"I don't think Danny likes me very much." Stiles said, catching me off guard by his words. Where did that even come from?
"I ask Allison on a date and now we're hanging out." Scott said in disappointment.
I honestly don't know who to answer they both are talking about two different things. "Am I not attractive to gay guys?" I glanced between the two not sure if I should answer any of their questions and sayings.
"I make first line, and the team captain wants to destroy me, and now—" Scott looked down at his phone looking at the time. "Now I'm gonna be late for work." He began to walk away. "Bye, Layla be safe." He told me as he walked down the hallway.
"Wait, Scott, you didn't! Am I attractive to gay guy!? You didn't answer my question!?" He yelled after him but Scott continued to walk away until he disappeared leaving me alone with Stiles who tuned to me. "Am I attractive to gay guys? Layla." He asked me this time making me close my eyes tightly.
"No comment." I responded. "Now let's go." I grabbed his hand dragging him with me out of the school and towards his jeep.
I stood in the middle of my room packing, going through my drawers, sighing when I pulled out a picture frame of my dad and me. Shaking my head throwing it into the box, continuing to clean my room, I prevented my hair from coming into my face with a white bandanna as I continued to throw away some things into the box.
I walked towards my second drawer pulling it open a smile broke down onto my face seeing the drawing Stiles, Scott, and I made together when we were younger. I can't believe I kept it but I loved keeping things as memories. I placed it back where it was and continued to clean everything else out.
I walked towards my closet room with the box in my hand but ended up bumping into a chest causing me to gasp. "Okay...We really need to stop meeting like this." I said, as soon as I looked up at him.
Derek stared down at me. "Your windows were unlocked again. But this time it was opened." He declared, making me look over at my window.
"I needed some air." I said, walking away from him and towards my closet placing the box there. "I'll be out in a second. I just need to change." I called out, shutting the door and stripping out of my clothes, placing them into the laundry basket and slipped on my new clothes which were leggings and a tank top. I pushed my hair back walking out of the closet to see Derek sitting on my bed. His thoughts seemed to be drifted away from this world and into another one. "Derek." He snapped out of his thoughts looking up at me, scanning my face carefully. "Are you okay?" I asked, walking towards him the same time he stood up.
"Yeah." He responded shortly.
I bit the inside of my cheek. "You sure?" I proceeded to ask.
He nodded his head. "I'm surprised..." He trailed, causing me to look at him with curiosity. "You didn't believe Scott and Stiles when they found my sister's half body buried next to my house. You didn't believe I was dangerous. Why?" He asked with curiosity.
I stepped closer to him, closing the gap between us. He tensed the closer I got his body. "I believe my instinct. I don't believe words. I believe action." I stared into his eyes, getting lost in them the more I stood there staring at them. "Action speaks louder than words, Derek." I said, so softly causing him to look down at me and for the first time Derek Hale was looking at me with light in his eyes, instead of his dark emotionless eyes.
"You surprise me." He muttered, staring down at me deeply.
I stared at him with my mouth twitching to smile but I held it back. "I'm filled with surprises." I flirted, not knowing what came over.
He smirked, pushing my stray of hair that fell over my eyes out of my face. His hand slowly touched my cheek softly making my eyes flutter close at the feeling he caused on my skin. "You sure are." My eyes slowly fluttered open to see him staring down at me carefully. "Scott came to me." I sucked in a breath when he removed his hand from my cheek.
I crossed my arms. "He didn't cause any trouble did he?" I asked, slightly concerned that he could've caused Derek trouble.
"No. He didn't." He responded. "But he did ask for my help like you said he would." I sucked in a breath, rubbing my arms up and down.
I slowly nodded my head. "You should thank me for giving you a heads up." I stated walking over to my second box that was placed onto the ground, that was the box with all the deep secrets that I wanted to keep buried underground.
I lifted the heavy box, walking past Derek who stopped me. He took me by surprise when he took it out of my hand. "Closet?" He asked, I slowly nodded leading him towards the closet opening the door for him letting him step in the clean closet and place it where I pointed at.
"Thank you." I smiled at him.
He looked over at me awkwardly nodding before making his way out of the closet causing me to shut the door. "You're a very clean person." He commented, staring at my very clean room.
"I do hate dirty things." I said, walking towards the window and looking down. "You must've climbed pretty harshly." I uttered, causing him to make his way beside me.
"When you're a werewolf nothing is hard." He told me, causing me to look over at him. I wanted to figure him out, I wanted to melt his ice emotions and warm him up, nothing is wrong with showing emotions.
I interlocked my hand. "True. But it is hard to control." I declared, causing him to look out the window making his forest green eyes even brighter when the light of the sun hit it.
"Not when you learn how to control." He looked back at me making my heart freeze at its spot as my body heated up from him just staring at me like that. "I should go." He muttered making my heart break even more.
I pushed my hair back nodding my head. "Okay." I felt sadness enter me when I watched him climb out of the window and jump down easily without injuring himself.
He looked up at me one last time before walking off leaving me with sadness in my heart as I watched him walk away. "Finish this up." I muttered to myself, shutting my window and locking it up before continuing my cleaning.
"He told me to go back to where it happened and said I would remember." Scott said, repeating what Derek told him.
Right now we were at school where the bus was at, as caution tape was around it with a fence. If Scott gets caught, he will get into so much trouble. Just saying...But anything to remember right? I leaned my back against the car watching the two in front of me.
Scott started climbing the fence, I didn't bother moving not feeling like going onto the bus and checking it out. Stiles went to follow after him and that's when Scott paused at the fence. "Hey, no, just me. You need to stay with Layla and watch." Scott told him causing Stiles to look in disbelief.
"How come I'm always the guy keeping watch?" I raised an eyebrow. Why does he even want to go inside of a bus that is filled with crime scenes? I shrugged sitting up onto the hood of Stiles' jeep with my legs crossed Indian style.
"Because we can't keep Layla alone out here, it could be dangerous and also its better if two people watched." Scott tried to explain.
"Okay, why's it starting to feel like you're Batman and I'm Robin?" I looked at Stiles in disbelief. It's really not the time for this. "I don't want to be Robin all the time." I groaned throwing my face into my hands shaking my head repeatedly.
"Nobody's Batman and Robin any of the time." I spoke up this time, causing Stiles to look at me with his face dropped.
"Not even some of the time?" He added, causing Scott and I to both sigh in annoyance at the same time.
Scott gritted his teeth. "Just stay here."
"Oh my god!" Stiles said in defeat. "Fine." I jumped off the hood of his car and climbed into the jeep as Scott climbed the fence. Stiles got into the driver's seat beside me.
I played with my hand my mind drifting to Derek earlier. I sighed throwing my head back just thinking of him makes me lose my mind and cause butterflies in my stomach. But what slightly hurts me is that every time he is with me, it's like he is distancing himself and I don't even know why...I bit the inside of my cheek looking over at Stiles.
"I'm hungry." I began causing him to chuckle.
"You should've ate earlier instead of picking at your food." Stiles declared making me roll my eyes.
"That was lunc-" I cut myself off when two headlight came flashing our way. "Stiles!" I pointed, causing him to panic and quickly honk his horn. Come on Scott. Come on!
"Come on! Come on!" Stiles continued to yell as Scott jumped over the fence like he was in gymnastics class and quickly hopped into the jeep. "Go! Go!" He demanded, Stiles quickly put the car on drive as Scott shut the door before Stiles floors it.
"Did it work? Do you remember?" Stiles asked, as he continued to get away from there.
"Yeah, I was there last night. And the blood - a lot of it was mine." Scott nodded, breathless from the running.
Stiles glanced at him. "So you did attack him?" He asked, hesitantly.
"No. I saw glowing eyes in the bus, but they weren't mine. It was Derek." Of course he'd blame Derek.
I got annoyed, looking away from him. "What about the driver?" Stiles proceeded to ask, as I sat there not saying a word.
If Derek did do it, why would he help Scott remember? See doesn't make any sense. They are going to blame him again and either way the truth would be him being innocent.

8 147Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.

8 94Gods of Arkanoth
The hunter has been betrayed, left alone in the streets of a lugubrious district. Only one goal appears in his eyes: to avenge himself. In his quest to avenge himself, he'll encounter an enigmatic scientist who seems to hide his true nature, a savior pretending to be a God, and the terrible truth of those words, bringing him against something he'd never thought he'd have to affront. This is the odyssey of the hunter, in a quest to put a long overdue end to a war between two worlds. // What to expect:The beginning will surely be intriguing, most of what's happeing won't be directly explained, although there will be some hints about their true roles, but do not worry about some subjects never leaving that misty fog that is unanswered questions! The novel is divided in two parts, the first focusing on uncovering the well-hidden secrets the city of Arkanoth hides, be it concerning its making or its inhabitants. As for the second part, it will be an expedition into the unknown, we could, in a way, say the true start of the journey our three heroes will undertake! I won't say anything more about the second part or else I might tell you an important detail without realizing... As for magic, because yes, there is magic! Although you might not see the shadow of a spell in the first chapters, it will appear in later chapters and will be one of the main subjects of volume 2. There are three heroes, yes, but they will not appear directly. While the first two protagonists appear in quite the beginning, the third will take his time, taking some stroll in the Districts of Arkanoth while we focus on the story of the hunter. But that does not lessen his importance in the story a bit, trust me. What about these three heroes, you say? Well, they all have their own issues, from their character to their torments, and as the story progresses they will have to come clean with their past (character development is to be expected) and will find their reason for fighting, braving all odds. I draw my inspiration from mythology, more precisely Aztec mythology. I want to stay true to a certain extent about it and all the relations between the gods and their role, however I will still change some things to my liking, so do not expect for all of the mythology to be respected to the letter. Finally! I have to say English is a foreign langage for me, so I might not choose the best words or straight-up miswrite something, if it bothers your experience, just tell me in the comments and I'll look into it! It is also my first time writing a book, so some parts might seem sloppy, but I hope I will be able to improve throughout this journey so as to give the most enjoyable reading experience to you. // Who might enjoy this story: Firstly, if you like deep lore and stories in which past plays a big role, you will like how everything unravels to show the hidden truths of the world. However if you do not appreciate not instantly understanding what's happening or who - or even what - this person might be, then you might not appreciate the story. There will be disturbing and gore descriptions, so if you're sensitive, don't like reading about someone being beheaded and such, you should probably pass this one. There is strong langage, although I won't abuse it, I won't be lying saying no insults will appear. Finally, the heroes will not always win, they will sometime lose battles, be it important ones or unimportant, and they will, most of the time, not come out unscathed from those. // Time Schedule : once every two sundays at 7:pm Ps : feel free to tell me if something is bad, or feel wrong with the book, it really helps me. I've written till' chapter 4 (in my mother tongue, so I'll still have to translate), however I'll make some minor and major changes, thus it will take some time to post them. Schedule will probably not change after releasing chapter 4, so don't worry, it won't take even longer to post a chapter than it already is. Enjoy the ride :)
