I scrunched my face in distaste because of the chocolate in my mouth. "Ugh! This chocolate taste old." I whined, spitting it out into the trash and throwing the rest that was in my hand away.
Scott sighed staring at me with a look as he took a sip from his water. "No one was forcing you to eat it in the first place." He pointed out causing me to shoot him a look.
I placed my hand onto my hip narrowing my eyes at him. "Look Mr.Smarty pants. I had no idea this chocolate was expired and plus why don't you or mom throw expired things away, am I the only one who does it in this house?" I complained, he rolled his eyes at my complaints. "See-" I cut myself off when a loud sound irrupted from downstairs. "Did you hear that?" I whispered, Scott glanced at me nodding his head.
The both of us shared a worried look. "What if it was mom?" Scott suggested. I shrugged not knowing since I saw mom in bed before I walked into Scott's room with an expired chocolate bar.
I slowly stood up from Scott's desk chair and walked with him exiting his room, walking towards our mom's room opening it to see her fast asleep. I slowly shut the door knowing the sound wasn't my mom. Scott and I continued as he grabbed the baseball bat while we made our way down the stairs.
"The sound was coming from the yard." I whispered, I grabbed Scott's arm tightly, he lead us towards the glass door, sliding it open as we both stepped out holding our breath while sharing a look of hesitation. I sucked in a breath as we followed the noise. Scott prepared himself to take a swing at whoever or whatever that was.
We both scanned the backyard and instantly a screamed escaped mine and Scott's throat when something came dangling down right in front of us. I cupped my mouth staring at the face that was looking back at us as my heart pounded against my chest my body suddenly felt numb due to fear.
"Stiles!?" I exclaimed in anger. "What the hell are you doing?" I asked, holding onto my chest tightly due to the pain in my heart.
"You both weren't answering your phones." He responded in an obvious tone causing me to glare at him, wither he was upside down or not I slapped his stomach.
"You could have given us a heart attack." I snapped angrily.
Stiles rolled his eyes dramatically. "Well. You didn't." His eyes fell on the object in Scott's hand. "And why do you have a bat?"
"We thought you were a predator." Scott finally spoke up, as Stiles continued to hang down the roof as if it was normal.
I shook my head in disappointment. "A pre - I - wha – look I know it's late, but you gotta' hear this." Stiles began, causing me to stand straighter interested in what he was about to tell us. "I saw my dad leave twenty minutes ago. Dispatch called. They're bringing in every officer from the Beacon department and even State Police." Scott and I both shared a confusing look.
"Why?" We both asked at the same time.
"Two joggers found a dead body in the woods." He revealed, causing my eyebrows to shot up in surprise.
I crossed my arms leaning against the door frame. "A dead body!?" Scott exclaimed shocked.
"No. A body of water." Stiles responded sarcastically, causing me to snicker at his response. This is why Stiles and I are friends not because we were raised together but because of his amazing sarcasm. "Yes. Dumbass, a dead body." Stiles said with a scoff.
"You mean like a murderer?" Scott continued to ask.
"Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her twenties."
I furrowed my brows not understanding this. If they have the body what else do they need to look for. "Hold on." I cut in. "If they've already found the body what are they looking for now?" I questioned, narrowing my brows.
Stiles looked at me with a weird look "That's the best part they only found half." Stiles said, making me scrunch my heart sink as my eyes widen. The other half? Oh my god. Fear instantly filled my body but also disgust. My body shivered just at the images flashing in my mind. What kind of sick psycho would cut an innocent person in half? "And we." He motioned to the three of us. "Are going."
"Okay, just let me go get dressed." Scott agreed, walking inside to get dressed leaving me with Stiles who had an exciting smile on his face.
"What about you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
Oh dear god. If I say no then that means Stiles will drag me into the car. To Stiles no is not an option. "Fine." I groaned in annoyance agreeing to go with him but I knew I'd regret my decision as soon as I'm in the car. "I don't understand why you're so excited." I stated, making a smirk form onto his face.
I sighed shaking my head disappointedly, if mom finds out about what we are doing right now, she'd have our heads. My attention got caught by Scott who exited the house, we walked towards Stiles' jeep, hopping in.
"I'm so going to regret this." I muttered, strapping my seatbelt as Stiles turn on the car.
He looked at me through the review mirror. "No. You're not." Stiles reassured.
"Okay. Now I know for sure I'm going to regret coming." I uttered, as he drove off to the woods.
A few minutes passed by, by the time we got to the woods. Stiles stopped the car causing us to climb out of his blue jeep, with one flashlight in his hand leading us into the woods.
"Are we seriously doing this?" Scott whispered, as we walked further into the woods.
Stiles shook his head at Scott's words. "You're the one who is always bitching that nothing happens in town." Stiles snapped, I sighed looking over our shoulder back at the path we came from.
A bad feeling entered my body the more we'd take further steps into the woods. "Whatever. Can we get this over with so I could get back home and get my beauty sleep." I complained, trailing behind them.
I could tell both boys rolled their eyes at my comment. "Yeah. And I was trying to get a good sleep before practice tomorrow." Scott added on.
Stiles rolled his eyes at Scott. "Right, because sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort." He responded sarcastically once again.
"No. Because I'm playing this year." Scott revealed, as we took more steps. I tripped almost falling head first because of a stupid stick that was all over the ground, cursing under my breath and kicking it angrily before quickly catching up with the other two who were a little far ahead of me. "I'm making first in line." Stiles snorted at the comment.

"Hey, that's the spirit. Everyone should have a dream, even a pathetically one unrealistic one."
"Yeah. And I have dreams that I'm a model..." I trailed. "Oh right. I am." I said confidently, walking beside Stiles.
Stiles sneers at my saying. "You wish." I heard him mutter causing me to slap the back of his head, his hand instantly went to the part that I hit, groaning at the stinging pain. "Forgot how bad your slaps hurt." He whined rubbing the sore spot. I rolled my eyes at his dramatic action.
"Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?" Scott asked, curiously.
"Huh." Stiles let out. "I didn't even think about that." He admitted, causing me to send him a look.
Well isn't this just beautiful, he didn't even bother thinking this through. "Comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail." We raced up that paths, but I slowly slowed down when Scott who was beside me slowed down. His breathing sounded like it was coming out forcefully. "Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one holding the flashlight." I watched Stiles slow down as well not bothering to turn my attention away from my brother.
I placed my hand on his shoulder staring at him with a worried look. "You okay?" I asked unsure.
"Yeah." He responded reassuringly.
I hesitantly removed my hand from his shoulder, knowing this was a bad idea coming here in the first place. My attention was caught by Stiles who grinning like an idiot at us, walking towards Stiles and Scott who were crouched down. My eyes widen at the amount of police crowded at the area.
A sound of zipping caught our attention, looking over to see a body bag being zipped and two feet were being zipped up. "Is that the second half of the body?" Scott asked.
"No, they would have called off the search." He told us. "Come on." We retreat from our spot and walked off in the dark once again. I sighed pushing my hair back looking over my shoulder here and there to make sure there was nothing behind us. I can't help but have a bad feeling entering me.
"Stiles, wait up!" My head snapped over to see Stiles racing up the hill, while Scott was breathing heavily.
"Scott." I said worriedly, making my way towards him. "You need your inhaler." He nodded, shakily taking out his inhaler and taking a puff. "This was a bad idea." I muttered, Scott smiled at me reassuringly.
"I promise. I'm fine." I shook my head, taking his hand. "Why did Stiles run up the hill like that?" Scott questioned, and I shrugged as we made our way to wherever Stiles was.
"Stay right there!" Scott and I heard causing us to freeze but then we realize it was for us. Scott quickly brought me towards a tree hiding behind it. Both of us were breathing heavily from all the running, peeking my head out to see Stiles was in the middle of the search party.
Isn't this just great? "Hang on, hang on." Mr.Stilinski's voice rang through mine and Scott's ears. "This little delinquent belongs to me." He told the police officer, I sighed resting the back of my head onto the tree. Closing my eyes tightly knowing we were screwed.
"Hey, dad how are you doing?" He asked, causing my eyes to snap open.
Is he being serious right now? That's the first question he says when he has been caught? "So you listen to all my phone calls?" Mr.Stilinski continued to question his son. I poked my head out once again to see him glaring down at Stiles.
"No..." Stiles trailed. "Not the boring ones." My eyes widen, my hand automatically face palmed.
That's it. Stiles has to be the most stupid person in the world. There is no way anyone could be stupider than him, like who on earth just exposes themselves? Dear god. I need new friends. "Now where are you other partners in crime?" He asked, causing Scott and I to both look at each other as our bodies stiffen.
"Who? Scott and Layla?" I squeezed my eyes tightly. "They're at home." He revealed, making me let out a breath. "It's just me alone in the woods walking around..." He trailed, but Mr.Stilinski being Mr.Stilinski he didn't believe a word Stiles was saying.
"Layla! Scott!" Of course he had to shout in the woods. I'm positive his shouting caused whatever animal there are in these woods to awaken. "You out there!?" He continued to yell, Scott and I remained quiet behind the tree.
"See I told you they aren't here. Layla said she wanted her beauty sleep and Sott said he needed some sleep because of practice tomorrow." Stiles said, lying.
I prayed that Mr.Stilinski would buy his lie. "Let's go." Mr.Stilinski grumbled, escorting Stiles away.
Scott and I both sighed in relief knowing that was a close call. I turned my back over to see if they were gone for sure and to my luck they were. "Scott-" I was cut off by a scream escaping my brothers throat.
My head snapped over to see Scott rolling down the hill. "Scott!" I screamed, running down after him.
I went to head towards him when all of a sudden my eyes caught glowing red eyes and instantly flashbacks of me when I was younger in the woods with those similar glowing red eyes came to my mind. A scream escaped my throat when it attacked me and a stinging sensation appeared on my wrist.
****************
"So what you are trying to say is both of you got bitten by a wolf?" Stiles said, after Scott and I finished explaining what happened last night to us.
Just those glowing red eyes caused chills up my spine and not only that. I couldn't sleep last night without having a terrifying nightmare of what happened. "Yes. Stiles." I said, getting annoyed suddenly.
"No, not a chance." He shook his head.
I sighed. "I heard a wolf howling." Scott informed him.
"No, you didn't." Scott and I both shared a look.
"What do you mean, no, I didn't? How do you know what I heard?" Scott argued.
I ran a hand through my hair listening to these two's argument take place. "Because California doesn't have wolves, okay? Not in like 60 years" I crossed my arms, raising a brow at him.
"Really?" I spoke up.
Stiles looked at me nodding his head. "Yes, really." Closing my eyes and looking up at the sky not knowing what to think. "There are no wolves in California." He debated.
"All right, well, if you don't believe me about the wolf, then you're definitely not gonna believe me about when I tell you I found the body." My eyes widen as my head snapped towards Scott's direction.
What? He found the dead body last night? Thank god I passed out when I got bitten by whatever that was. Stiles' eyes widen in surprise. "You - are you kidding me?" He uttered surprised.
"No, man, I wish." Scott sighed. "I'm gonna have nightmares for a month." He complained.
My eyes landed on Lydia who was coming to walk by us. "Hey Layla." She greeted, we've been friends ever since I first entered this school.
"Hey, Lyd." I smiled at her.
"You look stunning, today." She complimented.
"Aw! You do too." She grinned at me.
"I need to get going." She said, walking past the boys.
"Hey, Lydia....You look - Like you're gonna ignore me." He said, as Lydia walked by him not even acknowledging him making me burst into giggles. "You're friends with Lydia why don't you introduce us." I chuckled shaking my head at his comment.
"Let's get to English class, boys." I told them, walking away ignoring Stiles complaining to my brother that it is his fault Lydia ignores him.
I walked towards my locker and unlocked it taking out my English book and placing the things I didn't need into it. Slamming my locker shut before quietly making my way to class entering to see the boys already in class, just a second ago they were behind me how fast did they get to class. I walked over sitting in front of Stiles flashing him a little smile.
Mr.Crutis walked into the classroom. "As you all know, there indeed was a body found in the woods last night. And I am sure your eager little minds are coming up with various macabre scenarios as to what happened. But I am here to tell you that the police have a suspect in custody." I removed my chin from my hand looking over at Stiles to see him shrugging obviously news to him as well. "Which means you can give your undivided attention to the syllabus which is on your desk outlining this semester." I looked back, flipping the page looking down at the paper but I froze for a second when I saw Scott flinching for some odd reason.
The door of the classroom opened causing us all to lift our heads and look over to see the principle walking in with a beautiful brunette girl following behind him. "Class, this is our new student, Allison Argent. Please do your best to make her feel welcome." He introduced, as Alison walked over to the seat behind Scott causing him to shuffle nervously.
Awkward Scott is coming out once again. But what was weird was that before Allison could say anything, Scott turned around and handed her a pen which she took with a relieved smile on her face. "Thanks." My eyebrows shot up in surprise, as Scott caught my eyes and shrugged.
I focused back onto the teacher. "We'll begin with Kafka's Metamorphosis, on page 133." We all turned our pages.
**************
I walked towards my brother and best friend's table when a hand grabbed my arm causing me to turn around to see Lydia and Allison. "Hey! Why don't you come sit with us?" Lydia asked, causing me to glance at the two waiting for me at the table.
"I can't today but maybe another time." I told her, looking over at Allison.
"You're Layla from my English class right?" She asked. I nodded my head with a grin on my face.
She smiled back at me. "Yes. I am." I answered, looking over at Lydia.
"Come on! Please." Lydia begged, causing me to chuckle and shake my head.
"I promise I'll come another time." My eyes caught Jackson Whittemore or should I say Jackass Whittemore coming towards us and putting his arm around Lydia's shoulder pulling her into a kiss making me roll my eyes at him.
Indeed this was the same Jackass that tried getting with me but of course I was smart enough to dodge the bullet before it hit me. And sadly Lydia was the one who didn't dodge the bullet. "Hey Layla." He greeted when he pulled away from Lydia.
"Bye Jackson." I sassed walking away from them and towards Stiles and Scott. A smirk came onto my face when I caught Scott spying on Allison, setting my tray down beside Stiles and looked over at Scott. "Why are you eye raping the new girl?" I asked, taking a seat causing Scott to quickly look away and play it off.
Scott scrunched up his face. "I-I'm not eye raping her." I smirked, leaning back.
"Mhm. Whatever you say brother. Don't forget the fact that we both were born together so I know when you're lying." I said, taking a bite from my apple.
I froze when my head started pounding, I ignored whatever Scott said as I put my hand on my head, my eyes felt weird causing me to hiss in pain. "Holy shit." Stiles muttered, looking at me causing me to stare at Scott and Stiles in confusion to see the two staring at me with wide eyes.
"What?" I asked, Stiles leaned in.
"Your eyes." He started, staring deeply into my eyes. "They're purple." He whispered, causing me to furrow my brows.
"What the hell?" Scott muttered, staring at me.
I pushed out of my chair, keeping my head down as I rushed to the bathroom. Barging in to see and quickly looking into the mirror to see my eyes flashing purple making me gasp. "What?" I whispered. How the hell did this happen? What is wrong with me?
I closed my eyes tightly, breathing in and out heavily. The pounding in my head slowly stopped causing my eyes to flutter open, sighing in relief when my eyes went back to normal. I walked out of the bathroom to see Scott and Stiles standing there. "How the hell did you have purple eyes?" He asked, as soon as I walked out.
I looked at him shrugging. "I don't know." I replied with full honesty. "Let's just talk about this later. We gotta get to the game." I told them, walking off leaving them behind as I sighed running a hand through my hair, with confusion entering me.
I went to the bleachers to see Lydia and Allison seated. "Who is that?" Allison asked, pointing at Scott.
"My twin brother." I answered, causing Allison to look at me in shock. I chuckled everyone's reaction when Scott and I say we're twins.
I stared at Scott playing and was surprised to see him actually doing well. "You both look nothing alike." Allison stated, still slightly shocked.
"Yes. That is the same reaction we get from everyone we tell that to." She let out a chuckle as I smiled at her before looking back at the game.
"I had the same reaction. Trust me." Lydia spoke up, keeping her eyes on the game.

Celestial [A Progression Fantasy LitRPG]
Warning!Profanity, unconventional relationships, drug use, descriptive gore and intimacy. Celestial is a slow-paced and action-packed progression fantasy with elements from the LitRPG genre. The story focuses on the protagonist’s personal growth, violence, sex, exploration and adventure. Follow Zelaria as she embarks on her journey of exploration and adventure, seeking ever greater heights of power. With an affinity for the elusive and mysterious Arcane and a preference for the thrill of close combat she nonetheless chooses to walk the path of a mage. A mage may still use weapons but a warrior rarely casts spells as far as she knows. It’s a logical path for her even if others may call it insanity. What do they know? Most people who choose to specialize in wielding mana tend to pick a mage class aligned with their element. Why become a standard mage, average at everything, when you can use your affinity for fire to become a fire mage and cause destruction with ease? The only problem for Zelaria is that no one seems to know how to get a mage class aligned with the arcane. Approaching 17 years of age she’s still at level 0 while her peers have long left her behind, their classes selected at the age of 15 when they became available. Luck is on her side though as she manages to snag employment as a hauler with a party heading on an expedition to a dungeon abandoned centuries ago. They’re looking for riches and danger while she’s still looking for an answer, one she finds at their destination even if not in the way she expected. Nothing is going to stop her from enjoying all that the world has to offer, not the wish of her parents or even her death. I'll be aiming to upload 5 chapters in bulk every week.
