"Took you long enough." Jen comments as Heath takes a seat beside me. Heath's expression was more stiff now than before and I can't help, but think he knows I picked up Dylan's call.

Jen and I continue eating as Heath fills his plate with Chinese takeout noodles. The fork was halfway in my mouth full of noodles when I feel Heath's warm breath fanning my earlobe.

"I need to talk to you tonight. And it's not a request." He dangerously states. I avert my eyes down on the right and see him sitting up again. I don't dare move my head and continue eating remarkably slow.

He seems mad. Don't do something stupid Riley. Why the fuck am I so scared?! He shouldn't have this effect on me. Fuck it. I abruptly drop my fork down on the plate causing a loud clanking sound. I skid my chair back and angrily walk up the stairs. Pull your fricken self together. Nobody scares you, nobody controls you.

I walk into the study room and turn on the laptop. I have way too much on my plate to be worrying about how Heath makes me feel right now. I start searching for the best gynaecologist.

*********

It's twelve thirty a.m. Jen came up checking on me around twelve asking why I had left like that. I didn't feel like making up any unnecessary excuses so I told her that I'm having a bad day.

I learned from my research that the best gynaecologist is in New York who goes by the name Dr. Bethany Roy. I'm considering going next week before break ends, because I need to know what's wrong and how to cure it. I cannot go another three days with that kind of pain again.

After I researched for a while, I grabbed a random book off the shelf and started reading. That's exactly what I'm doing right now.

Even when I'm reading it's still in my mind that Heath is going to come to talk to me and I subconsciously keep looking at the doors. I've tried to focus on the book, but I just end up staring at it.

The door clicks open and I slam my book shut. Heath walks in and I swallowed another lump in my throat.

"Let's go for a walk." He says standing at the door. He's not asking just do it Riley and do not start a fight.

I silently nod and get up to follow him. I follow him all the way outside of the metal gates and soon we start walking down the deserted roads.

"So what did you want to talk about?" I ask about ten minutes into our 'walk'. I considered making one those 'is this where you kill me' comments, but this situation felt too serious for that.

He stops in his steps. His hands were tucked into the pockets of his jeans. I cross my arms and stop in front of him. "Did you pick up Dylan's call?" He asks trying to hide his anger.

"No." I answer duly.

"Are you sure? Because it says that I had a minute and a half conversation with Dylan at precisely six oh five, but that's impossible, because I was in the shower. I really don't remember taking my phone in with me." My face goes pale and my heart starts racing. "Did you or did not answer Dylan's call on my phone?" His pupils start to dilate and now I know for sure he's fricken deadly.

"Yeah. Okay. I did answer Dylan's call, but I don't know what the big deal is. The connection was so fricken bad all I kept saying was hello I didn't even hear anything he said." Believe me believe me believe me! Oh and PLEASE!

Heath raises his eyebrows and loosens his posture just a little," So why did you lie at first?"

"Because I thought you'd get pissed off if you knew I touched your phone." He nods. His expression drops and his cheeks turn a little red.

He scratches the back of neck," I'm sorry for going off on you like that." He apologizes.

"It's okay. Is that all you wanted to talk about?" I ask impatiently.

"I guess." He says.

"Okay then, I'll see you tomorrow morning." He nods and I start walking back. Did he believe me? Something doesn't feel right. How was it this easy?

"Oh and Riley?" I stop in my steps taken off guard. Fricken shit. Riley! Why did he call me Riley?! Where's Princess? I turn around to face him with his stone and deadly expression back on his face.

"Mmhmm?"

"If I find out you lied to me tonight I won't be the only thing you should be scared, because you're going to be in some deep shit if you get yourself involved." He states sending chills down my spine.

"Must've been some serious call." I state and turn around to walk away. He fricken scares me and that's means alot coming from me. Imma make you a promise Heath. I will help you move on no matter what the price. You might not know it, but it's a promise I will always keep.

I walk into the house, up the stairs and into my room. I check the clock on the wall which read one oh two p.m. I shut the lights off and snuggle into my bed. Why do I care so much? It's too late Riley, you've already promised. I let out a huge sigh before drifting off into a rather peaceful sleep.

*********

I wake up excited for the day. Mostly because it's Christmas eve tomorrow and I have to run out to town to grab gifts. I hadn't gotten them when we went shopping because Jen or Heath were both with me. Knowing them they would tell each other what I bought for them, so I didn't wanna risk that.

I put on a light pink crop top with ripped sky blue boyfriend jeans and white running shoes. I curl my hair into beach-y waves before I head downstairs. I run into the kitchen and see Jen cooking. "Hey, Jen."

"Morning what's up?"

"Nothing much I'm heading out to town for a bit I'll be back around dinner." I say as I take an apple from the fruit rack.

"Okay, bring some Christmas decorations and food if you can."

"Kk. Bye." I walk down the hallway which leads to the underground parking.

*********

After seven hours of shopping, I've successfully bought the presents, Christmas decorations, and tons of food.

I bought a cute diamond necklace for Jen which had forever encrypted on the back. I don't know why I got forever encrypted, it just felt right. I'm giving it to her so she can remember anything close to her she wants to, not just for our friendship.

I had trouble finding something for Heath. At first I was thinking of getting a booby trap or something, but then a light started flashing in my eyes. I looked down to see the bracelet Heath had given to me on my birthday.

After thinking for over an hour, I remembered back to the time where he finished his English hand book before everyone else. So I finally decided on getting him a professional writer's pen with 'there's always someone' encrypted on the clip.

I know these aren't the best, but they actually took a lot of thinking and I hope they appreciate it. After I bought the pen, I also bought fifty boxes. Everyone slightly bigger than the other. I also got it wrapped around about fifty times. I just had to do it.

I take out all the bags full of the decorations and food, leaving the presents in the car, and walk upstairs. As I walk down the hallway, I hear voices of little kids. I curiously walk faster until I'm in the lounge.

I look at the centre of the sofa's where the coffee table used to be and now is replaced with blocks and three kids who looked around five or six years old. The two boys played with their cars as the girl noticed me and started walking towards me.

"Hi." She says in the most adorable way ever. I put the bags down on the ground and kneel down to her height.

The girl had long brown beautiful hair, tanned skin, and hypnotizing hazel eyes.

"Riley? Riley? Hey, what's wrong?" I feel Logan slip his hand around my waist to support me.

"I-I d-don't know. I feel... dizzy." I state. Logan helps me down on the sofa. He walks through the doorway and comes back carrying a glass of water," Thank you." I say as I chug down the water.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I have an idea that scares me to death. "Riley?"

"Mm-hm?"

"You've been having morning sickness lately and you feel dizzy?" Please don't say it, please don't say it," Are you pregnant?" Logan asks me.

"Riley? Are you okay? Riley?" I feel Jen's hand on my shoulder and I get pulled back to reality. I wipe away a stray tear.

"Yup." I look at the little girl standing in front of me. "What's your name?"

"Skyler." She squeaks.

"That's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I tickle her and she starts to giggle," S-stop!" I stop," And what's your name?"

"Riley." I state.

"You're pretty. Are you Heath's girlfriend?" She asks.

I laugh," He wishes." I wink and she starts giggling again,"Okay you go play I'll be right back." I smile and she runs off to play with her dolls. I stand up and spin around to face Jen," So what's with the kids? I didn't know you and Ian were adopting." I playfully tease her.

"Yeah right and I'm not planning on becoming a parent anytime soon."

"Doesn't seem like it when you have sex almost what? Every other day." She glares at me and I can't help, but laugh," I'm joking. Calm down."

"They're the neighbour's kids. Apparently they have to fly out of the country for a meeting."

"When will they be back?" I ask.

"Morning of the twenty sixth."

"Uh okay." I smile. I pick up the bags from the ground," These are the decorations and food that I've brought." Jen happily takes them from me," You're welcome." I grin. "Where's Heath?" I ask curiously.

"He's been out all day." Jen says taking the bags to the kitchen and I follow.

"Where?"

"I don't know he just said he was meeting up with someone." Jen states.

"Oh." I say. It's probably Dylan to talk about their meeting on the twenty sixth.

"Yup. So that means it's your turn to look after these kids. Dude I feel like a mom..." She groans taking the stuff out of the bags.

"You sometimes sound like one too." I sheepishly state.

"Since when did you turn into such an ass?" Jen asks.

"Since the day you kept me out of my room at nights." I stick my tongue out and run before Jen could reply.

"It was worth it!" I hear her yell from the kitchen. Ew. I cringe at her response. I sometimes wish we weren't as open as we are about our sex lives. But I still love her she's like a sister I've always wanted.

*********

The rest of the day wasn't that interesting. I played with Skyler, Joshua, and Liam while Jen was in her room talking to Ian.

I put the three kids down for bed around ten and Heath came in around eleven while I was watching a movie on Netflix. He had a dull expression on his face I couldn't really tell how his day went and I didn't bother to ask.

I started reading The Great Gatsby after the movie ended and it's a pretty good book, because I'm still reading it. The clock shows twelve thirty.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Come in!" I say. Jen walks in followed by Heath.

"Hey." Jen smiles and I smile back. Heath and Jen both take a seat on my bed.

"What's up?"

"Well, I actually had this idea..." Jen starts.

"Yeah? What is it?" I ask curiously.

"You know the kids being here and all without their parents. I mean it's Christmas and their parents are always away I just wanted to make it a good Christmas for them."

"That's a great idea, Jen." I smile.

"I'm so happy. So we're going to start by decorating our whole house tonight. I want them to wake up in North Pole." She squeals.

"Hahah okay. So should we start?" I ask.

"Yes!" She literally jumps off the bed and out of the room. Heath and I follow her to the lounge where the whole floor was covered in boxes filled with old and new decorations.

This is going to be a fun night. I smile at my thought as I walk down the stairs behind Heath.

A/N:
