《Love is Beautiful (She's so Ugly)》Chapter Twenty One (part two)

It had been two weeks and Merida's relationship with Yuri had gone deeper. Today, Yuri gets discharge from the hospital and it's Merida's last day. They will get to spend outside and into the streets of this city. Also, maybe on the beach.
"Yuri, you will need to wait for your parents to get you out of here," said one of the nurses.
"You know they aren't coming. They're always busy. I'll have to die first before they come for me and give me a speech about how much they love me," Yuri mocked, rolling her eyes at the nurses.
"Let's just wait," Merida told Yuri.
Yuri's doctor went inside with a clipboard on his hand. "Nurses, she's okay to go. Her parents had called already. She can leave."
"Ugh finally!" Yuri yells and then looks at the nurses. "Told y'all they were too busy."
Yuri then took Merida's hand and storm out the room. They were laughing while they run to catch up on the elevator. Inside, their laughter echoed. Merida thought Yuri was so much fun to be with.
"Now, I'll show you my city," Yuri beamed.
They walked the city together, crossing the highways as if there was no cross bridge. An enforcer even tried to chase them but before he could get to the other side, he lost them in the crowd.
Yuri and Merida stopped at a narrow alley, catching their breath for running too much.
"Do you always do this?" Merida asked.
"No," Yuri answered, chuckling. "I just want you to have fun and forget. So if this break is over, you'll be ready to face him."
Merida did forget all the things that happened. That's how fun it is to be with Yuri. You forget. "I feel like I'm changing. I don't feel like the same ugly girl who was such a loser and a pushover. I feel great!"
"A person can feel great and then meh on the next moment. It's just actually choosing to stay positive and I like how you're finally thinking that way," Yuri stated.
"Yeah... I used to believe in a quote 'I'd rather be hurt than hurt others' but now, I don't know anymore. At some point in your life, there's always going to be that life-changing pain. It'll sprinkle you with new things and so I want to change and cross out that quote. Believing in that shit made me become a pushover. I want to learn how to set boundaries so they won't keep treating me the same old bad ways they do."

Yuri clapped proudly at what Merida realized. "Hey, do you want to go and eat? That speech was deep," Yuri added and then laughed.
Wow! Merida never really thought that she was capable of saying that. She sounded brave and bold, she thought.
Yuri dragged Merida and they took a cab to a mall. They were taking selfies inside the taxi. Never in Merida's wildest dreams did she thought she'd take a single selfie with her pouting and making faces.
They ate at a fast-food. Even though they can afford a fancy restaurant, they chose what they think they can be loud. Who cares about being fancy? Yuri can't stand fancy dramatic people.
After they ate they went to a salon and Merida got a new haircut. She now has shoulder-length hair and she changed hair colours from black to ombré hair.
"It suits you! Oh my God!" Yuri yells once they were all done. "Next thing is clothes and shoes!"
They went their way picking clothes and Yuri was doing all the works. Yuri has a great style and is definitely a fashionista. And you can guess that Merida has been coming in out the fitting room.
After the clothes were shoes and accessories. Yuri is like Merida, she has no such true friends. Her friends usually betray her and it was obvious they'd just befriend her because she's rich. She has enough of that but Merida was not like those girls. Yuri bought a friendship bracelet without Merida knowing. It was a limited edition and has a star design, glittery and fancy.
Makeup. Yuri knows Love doesn't need it but it will make her so much beautiful. So she told her what to get and told her to use some. They bought some moisturizer and face masks.
"Err I won't really use this all," Merida whines with pouting lips.
"No! You promised me earlier you would! Plus, I'm going to check every single night when you get back home," Yuri warns her and playfully glares.
Merida suddenly hugged Yuri. She was so happy to finally find someone like Yuri. "I love you! You're so nice to me!"
Yuri hugged Merida back. They even swing side to side while hugging and then laughs. "I love you too! You're more than nice to me! Never change okay?"

Merida then nodded, breaking the hug because people started to stare at them. Not like she cares.
Before the day ends, Yuri brought Merida to a bridge parallel to another one in the city. They stood at the old bridge while facing the new one.
"Why are we here?" Merida asked Yuri, she wondered why Yuri told her driver to stop there.
"Stare at the other bridge," Yuri ordered. Merida did exactly what she was told. It was almost sunset.
"Once upon a time, a girl and a boy would sit here enjoying the sunset. Then fate decided to separate them so suddenly that they couldn't say goodbye to each other. The girl has a condition called prosopagnosia, a hindrance for her to recognize the boy. The boy, on the other hand, had an accident and had amnesia. He could only remember some scenes where he was so happy with a girl named Euphoria. That made him starts to search for her..."
Merida listened to that and she couldn't help but feel sad. "And then what happened?" She asked Yuri.
"One season when it was time for the girl to come back to the town to wait for the guy in this bridge, she encountered a guy. And that guy was the boy she was waiting for but couldn't recognize him. The boy also couldn't recognize her. They venture together, even fallen in love with each other but they long for their pasts which were ironic. They found what they were looking for but then they couldn't recognize their selves. They separated. The girl in this side and the guy on that new bridge. They both cried longing for each other..." Yuri finished and looks at Merida.
"So you, my dear shouldn't hold on to the past like those two did... because you'll never know, maybe the guy who's meant to love you the most has been staring at you for all his lifetime." Yuri uttered smiling. "That Jacob guy? He didn't need to make you feel beautiful. Being beautiful shouldn't depend on someone else but you. Love, you're beautiful. Now, I want you to say Love is beautiful." Yuri looked at Merida with daring eyes.
Merida raised a brow. "I'm beautiful," she whispers. She looked at the other bridge.
"I am beautiful! I'm fucking beautiful! LOVE IS BEAUTIFUL!" She screamed. Yuri is right. She doesn't need anyone but herself to feel and be beautiful. She laughed and sobs at the same time too.
After a while, she sniffs and wiped her tears away. The sun had set and she hugged Yuri again. "I'm still scared..." she whispers to Yuri.
Yuri broke the hug and took the bracelet out of her pocket. She took Merida's hand and put it on. "Our friendship bracelet. When you need me, you'll know I'm only one call away."
"It's so beautiful! Thank you!" She yells in happiness.
"We're beautiful!"
After their adventure, Yuri dropped off Merida. She hugged her so tight because she knows she's going to miss Merida.
"You know, I can't be at the airport tomorrow. I just hate goodbyes too much and it makes me cry. Call me when you get home," Yuri told Merida with a sad face.
"I will and you stay out of trouble."
They waved at each other and then Yuri's car sped away. Yuri sighed and leaned back.
"You made friends again," her driver spoke all of a sudden.
"Yeah, she was different. She's super nice and beautiful. I don't know why she was bullied. Do you think it's okay if I register at her school for the second semester?"
Yuri had been thinking about transferring. It would be fun with Merida around, she's such just like her dead sister.
"It's up to you, miss."
