《He Saved Me》Chapter seventy six

Chapter dedicated to ! Go give her a follow, along with me! :)
•••••••••••
I slept decently well last night for having been away from Mason. I had small night-mares throughout the night but nothing too overwhelming.
I fed Bella right away and hopped into the shower, feeling gross.
After my shower, I changed into some clothes for the party and did my hair and makeup. I decided on a white fitted top with lace patterns. I paired it with a pair of jean shorts with an American flag print on them and some black booties.
For my hair, I decided to keep it simple. I straightened it and pulled it back into a loose, low rise messy bun. I tied a red bandana around it and pulled a couple of strands out to shape my face.
I kept my makeup pretty natural too, just in case there are any pool incidents. I did my normal makeup with my wing and some red lipstick. I put a light silver eyeshadow on and sprayed my perfume, ready to go.
I quickly packed a bag with some necessities and one of Mason's hoodies, grabbing Bella and yelling to Cody I'm leaving.
I quickly texted Mason to let him know I was on my way and started the drive to his house.
When I got to the house it was decorated beautifully. Leave it to Tara to always set an example.
"Leah, sweetie you look beautiful" Tara gushes, running over to me.
"Thank you, so do you. This looks great. You've outdone yourself once again" I laugh, hugging her.
"You're so sweet. Go head inside, Mason's in the kitchen" She kisses my cheek ushering me inside.
I grab my bag from the car and head inside, peeking my head into the kitchen.
Mason is wearing a red button-down shirt with blue stars scattering it. He has a pair of blue jeans on, his white baseball hat and white basketball sneakers. It looks great.
I sneak around, wrapping my arms around him.
"Why hello there" He turns around, picking me up and spinning.
"Hi" I smile, stroking his face with my thumb.
"Now don't you look beautiful. Spin for me, darling" He puts me down, holding my hand and spinning me.
"Mmm, how did I get so lucky" He smirks at me.
"Oh shut up" I laugh, leaning against the counter next to him.
"What can I help with?" I wash my hands, looking at the food scattering the kitchen.
"Actually, if you could frost the cupcakes it would help my mom greatly" Mason sends me a nervous smile.
I nod, eagerly. Mason never tells me something, he usually takes the burden all to himself.
I pipe the icing onto the cupcakes, swirling it with the white icing and placing it to the side. I arrange them in a rectangle and start putting stripes and attempt at making some stars out of blue icing.
"How's it going over here?" Mason wipes his hands with a towel.
"Pretty well, except I'm not very artistic so it doesn't look the way I had hoped" I laugh, placing the cupcakes to the side.
"Shįt Le, all you had to do was slap some icing on those things. You went all out. It looks great. Definitely up to my mother's standards, if not exceeding them" He stares at me, eyes bright.
"No, they don't" I laugh, licking some icing off my finger.
"Yes, baby. They do" His eyes darken and my breathing catches in my throat.
I take the towel out of his hand and push off the counter, reaching for a water bottle.

Mason catches my wrist and spins me around before placing his lips on mine. His hands run up my body, from my thighs to my cheeks.
He gently picks me up, placing me on the clean countertop. He pulls my body close to his, standing in between my legs. I instinctively wrap them around him, playing with the bit of hair at the nape of his neck.
I get lost within Mason, wanting nothing more but to freeze time. Unfortunately, life doesn't work like that.
"Masey? Leah?" A small voice snaps us back to reality and my face burns up, mortified for the little girl to have seen that.
"Everleigh, hey" Mason clears his throat, her little heels clicking towards us.
I drop my head down, trying to hide the blush and embarrassment on my face.
"What were you doing?" She wraps her arms around him, laughing as he picks her up.
"Leah had something in her eye so I was looking at it. Isn't that right Leah?" Mason winks at me, smirking.
Dámn him for knowing his effect on me.
"Yeah, I think it's gone now though" I jump off the counter, smoothening my shorts out.
"All better?" She asks, reaching out towards me.
"All better" I nod, taking her into my arms and hugging her. "I missed you Ev"
"I missed you too" She hugs my neck.
'Later' Mason mouths, winking. My face heats up and he smirks, taking his hat off and ruffling his hair before putting it back on. 'Screw you' I mouth before his Aunt calls for him.
He rushes off and I place Everleigh down, following her to the backyard.
"Barbies?" She asks, holding out her bag.
"Of course. Where should we play them?" I ask her. She looks around before her eyes fall on the garden.
She points to the garden, eyes wide with excitement.
"Okay, good idea. Let's go" I take her hand and we walk over to the garden, sitting on the grass.
"I love your dress Everleigh" I admire the beautiful red and blue dress. Her hair is in two french braids with white bows at the end and she is wearing a pair of white heels. It reminds me of something Kaitlyn and I would wear when we were younger.
"Tank you. I like your shorts" She smiles wide, handing me a barbie.
We soon start playing with the barbies, getting lost in the storyline. I don't even realize it's been an hour until I hear Everleighs name being called. "Come, your mom is looking for you" I take her hand and we walk out to where everyone is standing.
"There you two are. I was looking everywhere for you" Mason laughs, waving me over to everyone.
"Le" Lydia smiles, hugging me.
"Lydia, you look beautiful. How are you?" I smile.
"I'm good. Thank you. I see the little one has taken a liking to you" She nods down.
I look at Everleigh to see her clutching my leg. I smile, picking her up to rest on my hip.
"Hi Lyda" She smiles, waving.
"Hey Ev" She laughs. I say hello to all of Mason and Ellie's other cousins before walking back over to Elle and Lydia.
We all talk for a while until it's time to eat. When we get our food we make our way to the basement where Everleigh tries to follow us.
"Ev, let the big kids have some alone time" Mason's aunt grabs her hand and leads her to the table.
"C'mon" Mason kisses my cheek, leading me downstairs.

We all sit on the couch, Mason's other cousins on the floor watching tv.
"So, you both are dating people? Still?" One of them asks, I forgot his name. Maybe Taylor? He's the one who hit on me on Christmas.
"Yeah" Ellie answers, awkwardly.
"Okay, so I have a question" He continues, causing another to roll his eyes, Theo maybe.
"What's that?" Mason asks, taking a bite of his burger.
"Are y'all into BDSM?" He smirks causing me to nearly choke on my burger and Ellie to gasp. "Because if not you should try it" He continues.
Oh my god.
"Okay, yup. That was crossing a line" Brooks nods.
"What the fück man?" Mason asks, a disgusted look on his face. "You're fücking weird"
"I can see it. They would" One of them nods, pointing at Mason and me.
Ew. Never have I ever wanted to try or had an interest in that.
"Alright. I'm ending this conversation. I'm uncomfortable" Scott clears his throat.
The tension in the room thickens and I sit uncomfortably.
"Okay, so" Lydia breaks the silence, looking around hopeful. "Where is everyone going to college?"
We all tell our colleges, mine being the furthest.
Once we get some awkwardness out of the air, quiet conversation is heard.
"I'm sorry about that" Mason whispers in my ear, moving my hair so my shoulder is bare. He places a light kiss on it, smiling at me.
"Not your fault" I give him a small smile.
He takes the plate from me, Ellie, Brooks, Lydia, and Scott, throwing it out.
"Thank you, babe" I smile, leaning into his chest.
"Of course" He kisses my temple, wrapping his arms around me.
"Do you have your bathing suit?" He draws on my bare thigh sending chills through my body.
"Yeah, I brought it" I nod.
"Okay, let's go swimming" He takes my hand, pulling me up.
"We're going swimming," He tells the normal people in the room.
We go into his room and change into our bathing suits.
I take my hair out and wrap it in a tight bun, knowing I'm not going under the water.
"Ready?" Mason asks, ruffling his hair.
"Yup" I nod, walking towards the door.
"This a new bathing suit?" He pulls at the strap.
"Yeah, just came in the mail the other day" I cock my head to the side.
"Well, as beautiful as you look in it, how about we take it off for a little" He stares down at me.
A knock is heard at the door, causing me to jump before Scott's voice is heard "Keep it PG in there"
"Holy shįt" I hold my hand over my heart, causing Mason to laugh.
"Let's go" He smiles, grabbing two towels and we head down to the pool.
"Are you going swimming?" Everleigh leaps out of her chair.
"We are, do you want to come with us?" I look at her mom. She nods, grabbing Everleighs bag and taking her to the bathroom.
Mason and I head out to meet everyone else in the pool.
"Le, I have makeup wipes on the table. You should use one" Ellie points over to it.
"Oh, it's okay. I'm not going under" I smile, thanking her.
"Yes you are" Mason swoops me into his arms, holding me straight out over the pool.
"Mason, stop it" My voice trembles, for multiple reasons.
One, his arms are going to snap at any moment. Mason is strong, but I'm not the most skinny and, there's only so much weight arms can take, being held straight out.
Two, if I go into that pool with all this mascara on, I'll look like a raccoon.
Three, I don't know how cold the water is.
"I'll take my makeup off, please" I give in, a smirk on his face.
He walks me over to the table, letting me grab a wipe.
I roll my eyes at his smirk, throwing the wipeout.
"Okay, now it's time" He laughs, picking me up and jumping into the water.
We plummet to the bottom, the cold water causing me to freeze in the process. I quickly swim to the top, pushing the loose hair off my face.
"You little dįck" I push him, laughter erupting from everyone's mouths.
"You love me" He smiles, wrapping his arms around me, holding me up in the water.
"Somehow" I gleam as his hands finding my bun and releasing it.
He slides the hair tie around his wrist, so it joins the other one on there.
"Cannonball" Everleigh calls before jumping into the water right next to us.
Her little swimmers have Sofia the First pictures on them.
"Ev" Mason laughs, throwing her up into the air before catching her.
"E, can we stunt?" She paddles over to Ellie, a smile on her face.
"Well, of course, Everleigh. Mason, Lydia" She calls them. It seems like they have experience.
Lydia and Ellie are the bases and Mason backs. They set her into a normal stunt and then send her higher. I'm not sure what the word for them is, I'm obviously no cheerleader.
Moments later, she cradles down, clapping.
"Again?" She asks, looking at Mason.
"Mason, try one-man" Ellie suggests.
"Elle, I don't know how to do that" He laughs, nervously.
Ellie instructs Mason and Everleigh, and soon he has the gist of it. Everleigh isn't grasping the whole process so instead of completing it fully, Brooks lifts Everleigh onto Mason's hands and he lifts her into the air while Ellie stands in front and Brooks behind in case she falls. It looks pretty good for the quarterback and a three-year-old.
"Oh, that's so cute. Let me get a picture. Jules, get out here" Tara gushes.
"Oh my gosh" Aunt Jules smiles.
I smile at the two as Everleigh falls into Mason's arms, a smile plastered on both of their faces. I can see the love they have for each other and it makes me wish Mason and I were older and married.
Mason glances over at me, almost like he knows what is going through my head. He winks at me, causing me to go weak in the knees. Everleigh swims over to her mom and Mason makes his way over to me.
"You still want to wait?" He smirks.
"Yes" I sigh, sitting on the stairs.
"That doesn't sound very certain" He smiles, picking me up and spinning.
"Mason, I'm not having a kid until we're married" I laugh.
"Brooks, give me the ring" Mason jokes.
"What?" Brooks questions, dumbfounded.
"Nothing" I laugh, wrapping my arms around Mason's waist.
We all hang out in the pool until it's time to watch fireworks.
I haven't seen any fireworks for years.
Mason wraps the towel around me before tying one around his waist.
"Are you afraid of fireworks?" He whispers, genuinely curious.
"Surprisingly not" I laugh, leaning into his side.
Everyone gathers at the end of Mason's driveway, waiting for the show that is in the middle of the road. It's a pretty known thing because people are gathered in every driveway.
The sight brings a smile to my face.
Soon the firework show starts and Mason and I sit down, me in between his legs.
The show was beautiful. Halfway through Everleigh found us and sat right next to us, gasping at all the fireworks.
I remember being young and entertained but the smallest things. I wish it was still that easy.
Mason and I make our way to his bedroom, changing out of our wet bathing suits.
He slides his clothes back on, leaving his shirt unbuttoned.
I put my clothes back on and throw my hair back into the bun, trying to tame the frizzy hair.
"Now we sit around the fire and watch a movie," Mason tells me as we walk down the stairs, hand in hand.
"That sounds fun" I smile.
We all roast marshmallows and watch the movie.
I lucked out with this man.
