《He Saved Me》Chapter seventy three

I just finished getting ready to go over Masons, it's Jim's birthday so they are having a party. Mason is picking me up in a couple of minutes and then we're going to pick up the food.

I am wearing a black lace top with some black jeans. I paired it with some heeled booties and a long, oversized cardigan. My makeup is natural with a wing and my nude lipstick.

Mason texts me so I quickly run outside before he can come get me.

"Dämn girl, you look gorgeous" He leans over the console, kissing me.

"Thank you" I blush, looking at him.

He looks good. He is wearing a short-sleeved fitted black button-up shirt with some white dots scattered on it. His black jeans are sitting on his legs, fitting perfectly. He has his white basketball sneakers on, like usual and his sunglasses rest on his nose. His hair is styled to absolute perfection, never a single hair out of place. I used to love the look, but now I prefer the messier, straight out of bed look.

"You look really good, yourself Mas" I compliment him, as we pull out of the parking spot. He looks at me, a smile on his face and some shade of pink on his cheek.

"Thank you, babe" He kisses my hand.

"Where is the food from?" I ask, stuffing my cellphone in my purse, along with the chapstick I grabbed on my way out the door.

"Lorenzo's. We got some platters of food. It's amazing" He glances over at me, a smirk on his face.

"I mean, clearly not as amazing as you ta-" He says, my eyes widening. "Okay, Mas" I interrupt him, a chuckle escaping his lips.

"No need to get all flustered hun" He picks up speed a little.

"My gosh Mason" I shake my head, withholding a laugh.

When we get to the house there's hardly anyone there, just Tim and Lydia's family.

We say our hellos, making conversation. Soon, a small voice is heard and pounding footsteps. Mason crouches down, a huge smile on his face.

"Maseyyyy" I look down in time to see a small girl fly into my boyfriend's arms.

"Hey Ev" He picks her up, sending a wink my way.

"I missed you" Her enthusiastic voice makes me smile.

"I missed you more" He strokes her hair.

She pulls away, looking at him.

"Everleigh, I have someone for you to meet" He puts her down.

"Who?" She looks around eagerly until her eyes land on me.

"Ev, this is my girlfriend Leah. Le, this is my baby cousin Everleigh" He rubs my back.

She looks exactly like him. She has beautiful olive skin and long blonde hair. Her piercing blue eyes are identical to Masons. She looks to be around three years old, maybe five. She has on a beautiful blue dress with white polka-dots on it. It flairs out at her hips and has a cute belt around it. She's wearing a pair of sandals with a white flower and her hair has messy curls scattered throughout. She's absolutely adorable. If Mason had a child, this would be her.

"That's your girlfriend?" Her eyes light up.

"Yeah" He nods.

"She pretty" She gasps, my heart-melting.

"Hi, you're so cute" I bend down, smiling.

"Hi" She smiles, looking up at Mason.

"Go ahead" He laughs, almost knowing what she's saying.

Within a moment her small arms are wrapped around my neck. I smile, hugging her back.

"Can we play? I have barbies" She smiles up at Mason and me.

"Wait, yes. Please can we" My eyes widen as I look at Mason, hoping he agrees?

Mason laughs at my excitement. "Of course" He nods.

We follow as the young girl runs to her parents, reaching for her bag.

"Mason, sweetie" The woman hugs Mason. "You look dashing. And who's this?" She turns her attention to me.

"Aunt Jules, this is my girlfriend Leah. Leah, this is my Aunt Jules" Mason introduces us.

"Oh my, she's beautiful" She smiles at me. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Leah. Please, call me Jules" She pulls me in for a hug.

"Peter, look how beautiful Masons girlfriend is" She taps her husband's arm.

"Hey, Mason. Hi, I'm Peter" He nods at Mason, kissing my cheek.

"Hi, I'm Leah" I introduce myself.

"Nice to meet you" He responds, turning back to a conversation with Jim.

"I'm sorry about him, he doesn't talk much" She gives me an apologetic smile.

"Mommy, we're playing barbies" Everleigh whines.

"She got hold of you already? I'm sorry" She laughs.

"No worries. I love little kids" I smile, holding Ev's hand as she tries to pull me towards the basement stairs.

"You guys head down. I'm right behind you" Mason smiles and I nod, leaving a kiss on his cheek.

"Okay, so this my barbie, Masey's barbie and your barbie" She beams, settling on the ground.

"Perfect, thank you" I smile, taking the barbie from her.

"You and Mason are together?" She asks with hope in her eyes.

"Yeah, of course."

"He never had a girlfriend. I think" She brushes her barbies hair.

"That's surprising. He's quite the catch" I smile, to myself.

"Are you talking about me?" Mason jokes, sitting next to me and grabbing the barbie on the floor.

"Yes. She said you're quite the catch. I think she might love you" Everleigh says, whispering the last part. I smile at the innocence.

"You think so?" He asks her.

She nods, grinning.

"I sure hope so. Because I love her" He whispers to her.

She gets up and starts jumping around, I laugh at her excitement.

We play barbies for a while, soon getting called up for dinner.

"Hey Mommy, Aunt Tara" Everleigh runs over to Jules, tugging on her arm.

"Yes, Ev?" She smiles down at her daughter who is a carbon copy of her.

"Leah and Mason love each other" She yells, a smile on her face.

Both of them break out in laughter. "Is that so sweetie?" She asks.

"Mhm, they told me" She nods, rapidly.

"Well, I'm happy to hear that. They look very happy and make a beautiful couple" She pats her daughter's head, smiling at us.

"Thank you" I smile back.

"Masey, can I have a piggyback ride?" She gives him her best puppy dog eyes, a huge smile breaking out onto his face.

"Of course Ev. Leah, can you pick her up?" Mason asks. I nod, picking her up and placing her on his back.

She smiles and Mason turns around, quickly kissing me.

"Ewww, Leah. He has cooties. Boys have cooties" Everleigh shrieks, looking disgusted.

"Yes, Ev. That's right, all boys have cooties. You can't date any boys or girls until you're twenty" He smirks at me.

"I won't date until I'm fifty" She states, smiling.

Mason is so good with kids. You can see the love he has for his baby cousin. It's everlasting. He's going to be such a good father.

"What's going on in your pretty little head?" Mason asks, handing me a cup with some liquid in it.

"Just how great of a father you're going to be" I smile, causing a gasp.

"You're pregnant?" Everleigh shouts, causing me to choke on my drink.

Everyone looks over to us, shocked expressions on their face. Tara looks like she might throw up and I feel that way as well.

"Ev, no. She's not pregnant everyone" Mason stutters, completely taken off guard.

"Leah, Mason" Tara hisses, pulling us out of the room.

"I'm not pregnant, I promise. She misunderstood what I said. I said to Mason that he was going to be such a great father because of how good he is with kids. Not that I'm pregnant" I rush out.

"Oh my gosh" Tara breaths out. "I almost died" She admits.

"Yeah, so did I" I laugh.

"Okay, thank God" She walks away, leaving the two of us.

"Kids have no filter, wow" I laugh, placing my head in my hands.

"They truly don't" He laughs, pulling me into a hug.

"Come eat with me" Everleigh runs to us, hugging our legs.

"We'll be right in Ev" He smiles. "Go get your food" She nods, running off to the kitchen.

Mason glances around quickly before smashing his lips on my lips, lingering for longer than they probably should.

"God, I've been waiting to do that for hours" He whispers, pulling away.

I blush, kissing his cheek.

"By the way, if you were pregnant I would support you and never leave you. But I am glad Ev just misunderstood. Let's try and wait until after I propose at least" He whispers so low that I can hardly hear it.

"Don't worry Mas, I'm not" I have a sudden urge to just run my hands through his hair, along with some other stuff that isn't appropriate for Everleigh to see or know about.

Mason smirks, almost knowing my thoughts. "Let's go get some food in your stomach"

I intertwine our hands and follow him into the kitchen where a line of food is laid out.

"Mas, Le. Take Everleigh outside please" Tara smiles at us after we get our food.

"Of course" I smile, grabbing Ev's hand and bringing her outside.

"Can I see phone?" She asks, looking at me through her lashes.

Can I give a four-year-old my phone? "Mas?" I question.

"Yeah, Aunt Jules gives her the phone all the time" Mason nods, taking a bite of his chicken parm.

"Masey, it's you" She smiles, pointing to the lock screen. "I want more" She refers to the pictures.

"I nod, picking her up and placing her in my lap. I open up my camera roll, knowing there is nothing Ev shouldn't see on there.

"Here's Mason and I at his football game" I show her the iconic one from before we were dating.

"Masey, did you love her here" Everleigh shows him the photo.

"Of course I did Ev" He smiles at her. "Mas, that was before we were dating" I laugh.

"So?" He answers, staring right at me. My heart flutters and Everleigh looks between us, confused.

"Uh, this is me and my cousins. Gracie and Luke" I scroll to the next photo.

"She's pretty. You all are" Everleigh looks at me, placing her hands on my face.

"Thank you Ev, but you're even more pretty" I smile at the curious face staring at me.

"Tanks" She smiles brightly, taking my hair in between her fingers and twirling it.

"What's that?" She points at the album with my sister and me.

"That's the photo album of my sister and me" I smile a sad smile.

"What's wrong? You sad?" She frowns, poking my cheek.

I nod a little, clicking open the album.

"Who's who?" She cocks her head to the side.

"Me, her" I point us out.

"You guys twins?" She asks, looking between me and her.

"No, she's younger than me" I smile, glancing over at Mason to see him staring, a soft smile on his face.

"Where is she?" She asks, confused.

"She went away" I clear my throat, hoping she doesn't ask where.

"Where?" She grabs another piece of my hair, smoothening out the flyways.

"Okay, Everleigh, let's go get a drink" Mason jumps up, picking her off my lap and bringing her inside, looking back at me. 'Thank you' I mouth to him, earning a nod.

I sigh, throwing my plate in the trash.

I walk over to the pool, staring at the garden. Kaitlyn would have loved Masons garden. I remembered her fascination with flowers. She would always come home with a new one in her hand, telling me all about it.

Masons arms wrap around me, his face nuzzling my neck. I smile, leaning into his arms and taking in his scent.

"I love you baby" He whispers. "I love you too"

"Where's Everleigh?" I ask, rubbing his arm.

"She's using the potty" He mimics her, grabbing my hand and spinning me.

"Let's go for a walk" He kisses my hand, pulling me towards the garden.

"You know, I've never actually been in your garden" I look around, mesmerized.

"Really? I come here a pretty good amount. Used to be one of my favorite places where there were more flowers. This arch was covered in beautiful vines and flowers, I wish you could have seen it" Mason smiles, warming my heart.

"Well, I'm glad I get to see it now. It all sounded so beautiful" I lean into his body, still not believing he's mine.

"Why didn't you tell me about Ev? You seem to love her a lot" I smile, genuinely curious.

"You've met the girl, she has some personality. I wanted you to meet her yourself and not have anything I've said to go off on" He says. It sounds pretty thought out.

"Okay," I nod.

"She's seemed to have taken a liking to you"

"I have that effect" I smirk at him.

"Mm, I know that" He smiles at me. "About the whole me being a great dad. Do you mean that?"

"Of course I do Mas. Are you serious?" I get out of his arms, facing him.

"Yeah, I mean. I don't know. I try and I love kids but it seems like only a select few like me" He shrugs, trying to hide his hurt.

"Mason, how many kids have you been around? Every time I see you with a kid you both have the biggest smile on your faces. It's extremely heartwarming. You will be the most amazing father and I would put my whole life on the line to prove that" I brush his hair back from his face. It's starting to fall a little because of how hot it is and how much Everleigh has been touching it.

"I guess you're right" He nods, looking at the ground.

A couple minutes a devilish smile spreads upon his face. "You'll put your whole life on the line? Let's go have a dämn kid"

"Mason White, you know I wasn't talking about now or that" I hit his chest smiling.

"But I am" He smirks.

"Oh shush. We're teenagers" I shake my head.

"Not like it never happened before. Plus, we're out of high school" He smiles.

"Just barely" I laugh. "Why are we even talking about this? Why are you considering it?" I laugh.

"Because you are the women I want to marry and have to carry my kids" He whispers in my ear seductively. "However many you want"

Chills erupt upon my body and I have to push him away. "Don't do that" I clear my throat, a light chuckle coming from him.

"Plus, if we have kids now you can kiss the NFL goodbye" I sing, smirking.

"Oh that's cold" He pouts.

"Sorry babe" I laugh, walking back towards the house.

"Found yous" Everleigh calls, running towards me.

I bend down just in time for her to come crashing into my arms.

I gently pick her up, glancing over at Masons smiling face. 'Think about it' He nods, causing me to shake my head.

"Do you want to play a game?" I ask her, a smile breaking out on her face as she viciously shakes her head.

"Okay" I whisper the game in her ear before placing her down.

"And, go" I call, causing her to barrel her way towards Mason.

"Everleigh, time to go baby" Masons aunt Jules calls for the little girl.

"I don't want to leave" She frowns in Mason's arms.

"Leah and I will come visit Ev. Don't worry" Mason kisses all over her face.

"I promise" I hold my pinky out to her, a huge smile spreading onto her face as she connects our fingers.

"Did you have fun sweetie? Thank you guys, really" Jules hugs the both of us, reaching for Everleigh.

"Mommy, I want to hug Leah goodbye" She reaches out towards me.

"Bye Everleigh, I'll make sure to see you again soon. I loved playing barbies with you" I kiss the top of her head as she wraps her tiny arms around my neck.

"Goodbye baby girl. I love you" Mason blows her a kiss as the walk out of the door.

"Why don't you do that to me?" I frown jokingly.

"What? Call you baby girl?" He raises his eyebrows, smirking.

I smile, laughing as his fingers tickle my thighs.

"Come on baby girl, let's go upstairs" He whispers in my ear, throwing me over his shoulder.

"Mason White" I gasp knowing his family is watching us and has a clear view of Mason's hand on my äss.

"Now don't be embarrassed, we won't be too loud" He smirks, throwing me onto his bed.
