《He Saved Me》Chapter sixty nine

"Babe, I'm taking you out tonight. Dress nice and be ready by eight" Mason winks, walking out of the room.
"You have to wear the skirt outfit" Ellie gushes. "Obviously. What time is it? I need to start getting ready" I start to get really nervous.
"It's 5:30. You have some time" Ellie tries to calm me. "Le, you have nothing to worry about. Calm down hun, you guys have been together for a while" She chuckles, noticing my bouncing leg.
"I know, but I'm nervous. We haven't been on too many dates like this" I fidget with my bracelet, keeping my fingers busy.
"Come on, lets get ready so you keep busy" She laughs, shaking her head.
I sit down and she gets started on my hair. She curls it into beautiful waves, giving it some volume. I do my makeup, keeping a nude lip and applying my normal routine. I then apply some light brown eyeshadow on the crease and blend it down, patting on some pale pink shadow and blend it together. I put a shimmer shade of pink towards my inner eye and blend it out, giving it a gradient look. I put some white glitter at the corner of my eye and draw a sharp wing with liquid eyeliner. Throwing on my lashes I sit back, satisfied with the look.
"I love that" Ellie smiles, her arms crossed in satisfaction.
"You look good" I nod, "I look good".
"Now, time to get dressed. It is currently seven" Ellie smiles and pulls out the clothes.
I smile at the beautifully paired clothes Ellie picked out to assist Masons horrible choice. The pink lace top fits like a glove and the leather skirt gives it the perfect bit of spice. I put on some pink heels that match perfectly and throw on some accessories to add to it.
"Screw Mason, lets go on a date" Ellie claps, her eyes shining. "You look stunning Le"
"Thank you Elle. I love everything" I smile, nodding. A knock sounds at the door and Ellie runs to it, opening to reveal Mason standing there, dressed in a very nice, probably extremely expensive shirt.
His outfit consists of a white, button down shirt and a navy blue suit jacket over it. He has a pair of grey dress pants on and his white basketball sneakers on. His hair is styled perfectly, as always and his silver watch, also extremely expensive is sitting on his right wrist. His blue eyes sparkle as they connect with mine, and his mouth falls open slightly, taking in my sight. "Holy shįt" He whispers, barely audible.
Ellie quickly exits the room and Mason takes two large strides towards me.
"You clean up extremely nice" I smoothen out his jacket, smiling at him. He looks good.
Really good.
"You look beautiful, Leah" He breathes out, holding me at arms length.
"Thank you" I blush, not liking the attention.
"No, really. You do. I know I made this skirt a huge deal and joke, but gosh I didn't expect this. You look lovely, truly" He stares at me, his eyes speaking a thousand words.
"Okay, lets change the topic" I laugh, wanting to turn the attention away from me.
"I don't want to" He grabs my hand, spinning me. I notice his phone is out, pointing at me. "Mason, delete it" I sigh, extremely embarrassed at this point.
"You look good, look. It's only going on my story" He shows me the video. It's really not that bad. It's of him spinning me and only a second of my smiling face is shown.

"Okay, well are you ready?" He smiles, kissing me hand. I nod and we head out to the car. "No motorcycle?" I raise my eyebrows, laughing.
"Not dressed like this" He winks at me, opening the door. I send a quick 'thank you' to him and he nods, running over to the drivers side.
Mason plugs his phone in, some music playing and we make casual conversation. We pull up to a beautiful restaurant to see cameras everywhere. "You've got to be kidding me" Mason mutters, parking.
"We're going to have to make this fast" He sighs, leaning over and placing a kiss on my lips. He quickly gets out of the car and pulls my door open, his hand stretched out. I take it and we quickly make our way inside the restaurant, hand in hand.
"Mason, is that your girlfriend?" I hear someone call. "Mr. White, tell us about your friend" I hear another say before the calls get drowned out by the door closing.
"I'm sorry" He huffs. "Absolutely no worries Mas" I smile, kissing his cheek.
"Mr. White, follow me" A lady walks up to us, bringing us deeper into the restaurant.
It's beautiful. We're seated in the back, facing the beautiful city. The lights from the buildings are shining. The area is dimly lit and there is some light music playing. This took a lot of thought, I know it.
"Mason, it's beautiful" I smile. "Yeah, I guess it is" His eyes never leave mine.
"What?" I get nervous, feeling insecure.
"You look absolutely stunning Leah, truly beautiful" He places his hand on top of mine, my heart fluttering.
"And you're turning me on in a way I never knew possible" He whispers, my cheeks immediately flushing red.
"Mason, cut it out" I hiss as the waitress walks up to us.
"Can I offer you some wine?" Her hands shake.
"Oh, no thank you" Mason gives a small smile.
She quickly walks away and Mason sends me a quick wink before opening his menu, glancing through it to find his entrée. I watch as his eye dance around the menu, darting over to me every once in a while. "What? Can't resist looking?" He smirks, catching my stare.
"Oh don't be such a cocky ässhole" I shake my head, laughing.
"Sorry, darling. I'll keep that in mind" He teases me, the pet name rolling off his tongue almost naturally. "What are you thinking of getting?" He asks, placing his menu down.
"I was looking at the Penne Vodka" I laugh, knowing he was expecting me to chose something extravagant.
"You're a cheep date" He grins, my mouth falling open in fake shock.
"Kidding" He quickly says, worried. "That was offensive" I laugh, shaking my head.
"I hope you haven't taken anyone else out on a date recently" I narrow my eyes at him, watching as his widen.
"I did" He nods, looking down.
"You what?" I raise my eyebrows.
"Nothing happened though, I promise. I would never go for my mom" He grins, knowing he got me.
"I hate you" I laugh, taking a sip of my water.
"I know for a fact that in girl language, when you have a crush that means the exact opposite" He smiles, happily.
"You're something else, Mason White" I chuckle.
The timid waitress hesitantly makes her way over to us, "Do you need more time?" She asks.

"No, I think we're ready. I'll have the Lobster bisque and the shrimp scampi. I'll also have a Mojito, light please. Leah?" Mason orders, letting me order for myself.
"I'll have the Penne Vodka, thank you so much" I give her a smile, trying to calm her nerves.
"Okay, I'll be back with your drink shortly" She nods, collecting the menus and running off.
"She's really nervous. I feel so bad" I frown.
"I know" Mason chuckles.
"I think I'm going to address it" I say as I see her walking over. "Go ahead" Mason smiles, shaking his head.
She places the drinks down and I stop her, "Ms." I say, her eyes widen a bit and she turns to me. "Yes Ma'am?" She stutters.
"I didn't quite catch your name" I give her a sweet smile. "It-It's Brittany, I'm so sorry" She stutters.
"No worries, Brittany. I love that name. I just wanted to let you know, there is absolutely nothing to be worried about. Relax, we're normal teenagers like you, okay? And please, call me Leah, and him Mason" I smile at the sight of her shoulders easing.
"O-okay, thank you. My apologies" She gives us a smile.
"You're so cute" Mason laughs, taking a sip of his drink. "How is it?" I ask, curious.
"It's good. They went very light on the alcohol which is what I wanted" He nods. "Good, that's good" I smile, playing with my bracelet.
"So, I'm going to visit my aunt and uncle soon" I try and make conversation.
"Oh yeah? That's good. When were you thinking of going?" Mason takes a sip of his drink, folding his hands.
"I'm not sure, probably in a week or two. I have to ask them, make sure they don't have plans and such. I'll also probably look into getting a hotel, give them some space" I laugh.
"A hotel? I'm sure they'll be fine, and insist on you staying in the house. They are your family" He raises his eyebrows.
"Yeah, I know but sometimes everyone needs some space" I shrug, thanking Brittany as she places the food down. That was fast.
"Well, if you get a hotel, I'll come. I obviously don't want to intrude on the cousin time, but I don't want you staying in a hotel room alone" He gives me a small smile.
"Thank you Mas, I'll figure it all out as soon as we get back home" I stir the pasta, letting some of the heat out.
"Sounds like a good plan to me" He nods, taking a spoonful of soup into his mouth.
"What are your parents doing tonight?" I ask, curious as to why the house was empty.
"I believe they were meeting up with my dads cousins. I'm not sure though" His eyebrows furrow in thought, trying to recall what his father must have told him earlier.
"Oh okay, thats nice" I nod, taking a bite of my pasta. "How's your food?"
"It's delicious, I absolutely love this place. How is yours?" Mason answers, his eyes twinkling with endearment .
"It's very good" I nod, agreeing with him.
The pasta is made perfectly, just the way I like it. I really couldn't be better.
"I'm very happy to hear that. I'll have to remember that for next time. We'll come back here again, the next time we come to Italy" Mason grins at the thought. My stomach flips, I'll never get used to hearing him talk about a future together.
"I can't believe Wednesday is our last day already. I feel like it flew by" I frown, not wanting to leave Italy.
"It really did, I'm going to miss it" He nods, a small frown settling on his face.
"California is so boring. I hate Crystal Valley so much" I laugh, wishing we lived in any town but the one we live in.
"It is bad, but-" Mason trails off, stopping himself.
"What?" I hide my sadness, wanting to conform my suspicions.
"No, nothing. It's not important" He clears his throat, clearly uncomfortable.
But we'll be off to college soon, is what he meant to say.
I nod, placing another forkful of pasta into my mouth, suddenly tired.
Dinner goes on, casual conversation continues and the unspoken words, disappeared as time went on.
"Would you like to get some gelato?" Mason asks, grasping my hand as soon as we step outside, not seeing any cameras.
"Of course" I smile, leaning into him.
We make our way deeper into town, coming to the mass of people and quickly sneak into the parlor.
We order our gelato and make our way down by the water to eat it.
"Thank you, I really had a nice time" I thank Mason, taking a lick at the frozen treat.
"Of course Leah, I need to spoil you. You're my girlfriend and we don't go on enough dates. It's the least I can do. I'm glad you enjoyed it" He kisses my cheek, a flash suddenly going off.
"How did they find us?" I question, watching as more people arrive.
"I don't know but we should go" He grabs my hand, leading me up towards the road.
We start walking back to the car, the cameras and flashes all over the place. I keep my gaze down as we walk.
"Le, hold on" Mason stops us, looking around. "What?" I look up at him, nervous.
He doesn't waste a second before he grabs my face gently, and places a passionate, gentle kiss on my lips, causing me to go weak in my knees.
"They want a story? We'll give them a story" He whispers in my ear before grabbing my hand and urging me to walk.
I continue silently until we get to the safety of the car.
"Are you okay? Was that too fast?" Mason scratches his neck.
"No, I don't mind. It just took me by surprise" I answer, honestly.
"Okay, good. Now, lets get you home and in bed. This dates not over yet" He winks, before speeding off towards the house.
Boys will be boys.

Needletongue, Carrotcake
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
