《He Saved Me》Chapter sixty six

We pull up to this beautiful island. There isn't a boat in sight for miles. The shore is barely visible.

"Leah, welcome" Mason smiles as we step off the boat, onto the sand.

The water surrounding the island is even more clear.

"Come on, lets go" Ellie smiles, dragging my hand.

We walk for a little until we come to these beautiful pools, they look almost like hot springs.

"This is my favorite part of this trip" Brooks smiles.

"Leah, welcome to Italys most beautiful, in our opinions, hot springs" Mason dramatically says.

"Wow" I breathe out. The water is a beautiful turquoise color. I can see the steam escaping the water as it flows down the rocks. There is a small house like structure at the top, someone must have lived here before.

"Get in" Ellie motions for me to join them. The water feels nice against my sore muscles. I instantly relax, dunking my head under the water so it's not as frizzy.

We spend hours on the island, burying each other in the sand, jumping in and out of the hot springs and just enjoying our time.

"Come on kids, we're going back. Your mother and I are going to dinner tonight" Jim calls us back onto the boat.

"We'll be back, don't worry. I love this place" Tara smiles at the sad looks on our faces.

I nod, making my way back onto the boat.

I lay down at the back, placing my hat over my face.

"Babe" Mason throws his arm around me. "Yeah?" I take my hat off to look at him.

"What do you want to do later?" Mason asks, spelling random words out on my bare stomach.

"Mm, I don't know" I shrug, placing my arm over my eyes.

Mason puts his sunglasses on my eyes, squinting. "Thank you, but you can have them" I blush, guilt filling me.

"Use them, I'm fine" He closes his eyes, continuing the drawings.

I smile, running my hand through his hair.

"Tired?" I laugh.

"A little" He grins at me, his skin getting tanner by the second. I hope mine is doing the same. I can't stand looking so pasty.

Within an hour, maybe a little more we're back at the house, docking the boat.

"Have fun you two. Thank you" I give them a quick hug, following Mason.

We quickly get onto the four-wheeler and drive back to the house.

"I need a shower" Mason closes the door, behind me, taking the bag from me.

"So do I. You shower and I'll make us some snacks" I give him a quick kiss and make my way into the kitchen.

I adjust my dress and hat on my head, quickly washing my hands and half of my arms so the food remains clean.

I quickly put together some fruit salad and bring the bowls up to the room, careful to not touch the bed.

Soon, the shower turns off and Mason steps out of the bathroom, shirtless and a pair of basketball shorts hanging on his torso. He rubs a towel through his hair, trying to get the heavy water out.

"I made some fruit salad" I motion to his bowl as I tear through my bad, trying to find some clothes to change into.

I rush into the bathroom, desperate to tame my hair. I don't mind the salt feeling on my body, I just can't stand the way my hair reacts to salt water.

I quickly shower, careful to wash my hair and body more then necessary.

I change into a white, loose crop top and a pair of grey shorts. I quickly braid my hair after applying the usual products.

I walk out of the bathroom to see Mason passed out on the bed. I smile, leaving a gentle kiss on the top of his head and going downstairs, not having anything else to do and not wanting to wake Mason.

I cringe, passing by Ellie and Brooks room, picking up my pace.

I might as well do some exploring.

I look around the house, finding some closets, bathrooms, a movie theater, sauna, gym, sunroom and game room.

Once I'm done exploring I turn the tv on in the main family room and catch up on my shows.

After around an hour, Mason walks into the room, rubbing his eyes.

"You do not want to go upstairs, trust me" He looks at me, disgust on his face. "They're still going at it?" I laugh.

"What are you watching?" He sits next to me, pulling me into his chest.

"I'm catching up on All American" I laugh at his expression.

"What do you say we put it on pause?" He whispers, causing goosebumps to form on my revealed skin.

"What do you mean?" I croak out, trying to ignore the poking on my back.

"I think you know" He trails kisses down my neck, onto my collarbone.

"You got so tan" He whispers, pulling on my ear with his teeth. I suck in a breath, not knowing what to do.

"And this outfit. So simple, yet so provoking" He slowly brings my shirt over my head, his cold hands making contact with my bare stomach.

"But, what if someone walks in" I try and control my breathing, feeling light headed.

"Sh, no one will" He pulls me so I'm straddling him, connecting our lips with passion.

He stands, wrapping my legs around him and lays me down on the couch, giving him enough time to strip out of his clothes.

"I love you" He kisses my shoulder, arm wrapped securely around my waist so I don't fall and other, holding a blanket, careful to hide our bodies.

"I love you too" I cuddle into him, wanting nothing more but to stay there.

Unfortunately, my anxiety doesn't allow me to enjoy anything.

I shoot up at the sound of a door opening.

I quickly throw my shirt on and slip into my shorts, throwing my undergarments behind the couch.

Mason looks at me, an amused smirk on his face.

"What?" I sigh, smoothening out my hair.

"You do know mom and dad aren't going to be home until really late tonight and the only other people in this house are Brooks and Ellie, right?" He tosses the blanket off him, stretching.

"Yes, I do. And I don't think they would appreciate walking in to see you, naked" My eyes never leave his.

"But they would be fine seeing you all flushed with no bra and panties?" He smirks, holding them up.

"Oh shut up" I snatch them from his hand, walking into the kitchen.

Mason catches up with me, now clothed.

"I really like those, by the way. Might be my favorite" He chuckles as I slam the bathroom door.

I roll my eyes and quickly change, splashing some cold water on my face and fixing my hair. Guys have it so easy.

"Something about the lace material with the thin straps on the sides. I don't know, its just different" He continues when I walk out of the washroom.

"Mason" I slap my hand over his mouth. "Chill dude"

I quickly text Brooks and Ellie to make sure tacos for dinner is good with them.

They answer fast, and I continue the process. Once I get the meat on the stove and completely block Mason talking about my underwear out, I chop up the lettuce.

"Mason, hun. Listen to me, I love you, but you gotta stop" I interrupt him, not wanting to hear anything else.

"Stop what? I'm just telling you that I think you should get more of those and of the other ones you have with you, the all lace. I really like those" He stares at me.

"Get your head out of the gutter, love. Help me chop the lettuce, please" I kiss his forehead and hand him a head of lettuce, placing a knife and cutting board next to me.

We continue cutting up the sides in casual, pg friendly conversation.

"I'll make some rice too" Mason puts a pot of water on to boil. I nod, moving over to give him room.

"You haven't had my rice yet, huh?" He smiles, preparing it.

"Nope, why? Is it good?"I sit on the island, watching him.

"Is it good? It's the best. Better than any Mexican restaurant can provide" He grins, proud of his cooking.

"Well I'm excited to try" I kiss his cheek and lean against the counter next to him.

"So, tell me. Are you Italian?" I question, genuinely curious.

"My dads Italian and part Mexican, my moms Dutch, Irish and a little Polish. I'm all over the place" He laughs, his eyes sparkling.

"You are, so can you like speak any of those languages?" I smile.

"Yeah, I speak a lot of Italian, a little Spanish, basically what we learn in school and I know a few phrases in Dutch, not many though" He smiles.

"Thats so cool" I gasp.

"Ja ik hou van je" He kisses my cheek.

"Ooh, what did you say?" I smile.

"Don't know" He smirks, leaving me standing there like an idiot.

"That's so mean" I frown, crossing my arms.

"Mi dispiace amore mio, ho bisogno di farti riflettere" He spins me, the words flowing off his tongue with ease.

I think I just fell more in love with him, and lost my heart. That could be a problem.

"If we were a movie" Mason sings out, dancing while cooking his rice, I struggle to hold back a laugh.

"Are you singing Hannah Montana?" I struggle to talk without laughing.

"You know it baby" He does a little dance, typing the song into his phone. Soon its blasting throughout the kitchen and Mason is singing along, dancing to the lyrics.

"Mason" I laugh as he dances up to me, grabbing my hands and holding them above my head, "That you'd fall in love with" He sings, urging me to join in with him.

I give in, "In the end we'd be laughing, watching the sunset" I laugh, dancing with him.

The songs ends and a new one comes on, he turns it down so its in the background as we finish cooking and talking.

In around an hour, the food is done and table is set. Mason calls Ellie and Brooks down, scared to go upstairs.

I get drinks for the four of us and Brooks and Elle sit down, thanking me.

"This looks delicious. Mas, you made the rice?" Brooks smiles.

"I did, I did" He grins, dimples popping out.

"Nice" He cracks his knuckles earning an eye roll from Ellie, a smile on her face.

"Thanks Le, Mason. This looks great" Ellie thanks us, taking a taco and some rice for her and Brooks.

We talk, deciding on a plan for later. A movie marathon with popcorn and other snacks.

Mason winks at me when Brooks suggests this takes place in the family room.

"Babe, we have a theater" Ellie laughs. "Oh shįt, yeah"

The bell rings and Ellie stands up to get it.

"What the fück are you doing here?" She sasses, the sound of heels and angry footsteps echoing in the big house.

"Tacos? My favorite. Mason, how'd you know?" Alexis bats her lashes, sitting next to him.

I suck in a breath, feeling Masons hand come in contact with my thigh to calm me.

"Alexis, why are you here?" He asks, sternly.

"Did you forget? It's our dinner and a movie day" She frowns.

"That was years ago. Get over it" He runs a hand through his hair.

"So what? It's a tradition, Massy" She runs her hand up his arm.

I quickly stand, the chair falling. "Excuse me" I rush, suddenly feeling sick.

I hurrying into the bathroom, fast enough to make it to the toilet. I spew up all of the food from moments ago. A comforting hand rubs my back as I sit there, limp.

"I'm sorry" Mason whispers over and over again, his voice breaking.

"Ba-Mas, come on. She's fine" Alexis snarls.

"I'm not your 'babe' and she's clearly not fine Alexis. Just get out of my dämn house and leave me the hêll alone. I'm sick and tired of you and your mind games" He snaps, leaving Alexis standing in the doorway, gasping for air.

"Me? What about her? She's the one brainwashing you. You're willing to give up a friendship like ours for a week long relationship?" She stutters.

I open my mouth to interject, the nausea overcoming me again as I bend over the toilet bowl again. "Christ sake" Mason whispers, bending down to make sure I'm okay.

"That's disgusting" Alexis gags.

"Go away, just leave Alexis. Now. I'm done" Mason yells, now pissed.

"No" She stops her food, surprising Mason and I, both.

"I would like to speak to you, alone. Outside" She crosses her arms. My eyes widen, knowing her plan, she's going to seduce him. The thought alone has me dry heaving.

"No" He looks at me, worried.

"Here's the deal, we go outside and talk. If you decide you never want to see me again, that's fair, but if we don't, then I won't" She clicks her tongue, knowing she got him right where she wants him.

"Go get rid of her Mas, we got Leah" Ellie pushes past Alexis, helping me up.

I give him a weak, definitely not convincing smile. He kisses me on the cheek, "I love you"

He pushes past Alexis, walking to the front door. She gives me a glare, her eyes sparkling.

I stand up, quickly rinsing my mouth with water.

"Are you okay?" Ellie asks, handing me a glass of water. I nod, thanking her.

"I'm just going to the room" I excuse myself, feeling tired.

"We love you Le" Ellie calls out.

"Love you guys too" I answer, running up the stairs and collapsing into the warm bed.

My eyes drift to the random chair outside of the window, so Mason has a balcony?

I find the door and make my way outside, freezing at the sound of talking. I really shouldn't listen.

"Babe, come on, you know Mario wanted us together" She says, my blood runs cold.

"Don't you dare hang his death over my head like that. You're disgusting. He would have loved Leah" He sneers.

"That's what you think. I mean, come on Mason, you're so out of her league. You need someone as rich as you, as beautiful as you and as fun as you. She's boring and old school, I could show you some fun" She says, I can feel her hand running up his arm, my heart clenches at the thought and the endless insults in those few seconds.

He hesitates to answer, giving me the urge to throw myself over this balcony.

"I can't believe you just said that shįt to me" He growls. Oh, he's mad.

"You just insulted the girl I want to marry. You just told me she's too ugly, too poor and too boring. I'll have you know that she has more beauty, talent, potential and fun in her pinky than you do in your whole body, fake boobs and all. You're disgusting, you should be ashamed of yourself" He seethes, causing chills to erupt on my body.

"Are you kidding me? Have you seen her? Mason, she's brainwashing you hun. Come on, lets go to my place, I have some new toys I got and we'll have a good time"

"Don't ever step foot on my property again" He growls, a door slamming. I hurry back into the bedroom, feeling guilty, sick and upset.

Rapid footsteps and heard coming down the hallway and I make it look like I was making the bed.

He walks in and immediately wraps me in a bear hug, whispering a million 'I love you's'.

"Mason, whats wrong?" I stutter.

"I'm sorry Le, she-she's a psycho and she said terrible things. I just-I'm so sorry" His shoulders shake, eyes getting glossy.

"Shh, It's okay, Mason. You're okay, stop" I hug him, sitting on the bed.

"I hate her" He mumbles.

"Hate's a very strong word. Come here" I pat my chest, he takes the hint and rests his head on my chest, his arm thrown around me, holding on for dear life.

"I know it is, and I hate her" I chuckle, running my hand through his hair, in a comforting manner.

"God, I screwed up Le" He mumbles, my heart drops.

"Did you-did you kiss her?" I stutter out, not ready to hear the words.

"What? Oh my God no" He shoots up, staring at me wide eyed. I let out a huge breath feeling relieved.

"That's what you thought was going to happen when I went outside, isn't it" He asks, his face dropping.

I look down, nodding while I find enjoyment in playing with my rings.

"Fück" He sighs, struggling to say something.

"I'm such a fücking idiot" He pulls at his hair.

"Mas, you didn't do anything, don't beat yourself up over this. I bet you did what you had to do and what you felt in your heart" I take his hands into mine.

The emotions in this room are all over the place.

"She was so mean, so, so mean and it hurt me, absolutely destroyed me to hear someone talk about someone like that, it made it even worse that it was you. She only see's money in her eyes. She knows my father owns a business, she knows I have a pretty decent shot at going professional for football and that's all she cares about. It's the reason I didn't want to tell you that we had money. She doesn't understand that personality makes a person, the beauty, talent, kindness, pureness is all underneath. She thinks that because you don't have a Gucci bag, that you aren't for me. And you're way out of my league, I know that. But I can't let you go, I just can't. You deserve better than me, you deserve to be happy and not stuck being hurt, over and over again. But I can't bring myself to put you out of this misery. I'm selfish and I'm so sorry" He says, tears rolling down his face.

"Mason, shh, you deserve the whole world. You are so good to me Mason, you're way too hard on yourself. Everyone makes mistakes, you're human baby. Don't worry about me, I'm okay. I have you to worry about. You have the most kind soul a person could be provided with. I'm lucky to have found you. You saved me. I know I say it all the time but you truly saved me. I'm so happy now. So unbelievably happy, I didn't even know it was possible to be this happy. I didn't think it would ever be normal for me to be happy and look forward to the day. Thank's to you, I am. Wether you believe it or not, you make me a better person. You have helped me, you've shown me the world but most importantly you've shown me what its like to love and to be loved. That is the most precious and the best feeling a person could have" I caress his cheek, tears brimming my eyes.

"I fücking love you so much Leah Marie Williams" He hugs me, holding me so that I can't move. I can barely breathe but at the same time, I feel like everything is lighter.

"I love you" I whisper, letting a couple tears roll down my face.

We stay like that for a while until Mason has to use the washroom.

The sun has set long ago and I sit in the pitch black, staring at the wall.

I slowly get under the covers, switching my attention to the ceiling.

Mason slides into bed next to me, placing his head on his chest and his arm around me.

His hand slides under my shirt, the contact makes me jump.

He rests his hand on my stomach, "I can't wait until there's a child in here" he whispers, causing my throat to close.

"Mason" I laugh, nervously.

"As soon as we get married. I want a little girl" He grins at me, my heart flutters.

He's said stuff like this before but something about this seems different.

"Yeah, I want three" I blush.

"Sounds perfect" He kisses my neck, my heart stops beating for a moment.

"Stop it" I laugh, not being able to handle these emotions.

"What?" He laughs, confused.

"I don't like this. Stop making me feel this way" I blush, feeling all over the place.
