"Shh, Le. I know. He's an idiot" Ellie says, enveloping me in a hug.

"Guys are idiots Leah. They really are. Mason fücked up really bad and is paying for it. He doesn't know how to deal with this situation. He handled it really badly" Brooks says, a knock sounding at the door.

"Leah, let me in please" A raspy voice sounds at the door.

"Let me at him" Ellie says, helping me up to sit on her bed.

"You little fücking ãsshole. What were you thinking? She did absolutely nothing wrong and you know that. You fücked this up. Choosing Alexis, over Leah? Definitely your most stupid decision you have made. Stay away from Leah until she is ready to talk to you. And you better stay away from Alexis" I try to listen to Ellie's lecture.

Brooks sits next to me, rubbing my back in a friendly manner. Nothing more, and Ellie knows that.

"Listen Le, I'll talk to him. I will. But I think you should talk to him about all of this tomorrow" Brooks says and I nod.

"I-I know I should. I'm going to t-try" I hiccup, the talking outside suddenly stopped.

"Do you hear that? Mason, you hurt her. So bad. Do you really, honestly think Leah would cheat on you at all, never mind with Elijah?" Ellie says, aggravated.

"You gotta stop doing this Mason. Stop pushing away the people that care about you" She says coming back into the room, embracing me in a huge bear hug.

"I'll leave you two alone" Brooks says and Ellie nods.

"Let's go in the hot tub, yeah?" Ellie asks and I nod.

"You are going to look smokin'. You'll be nothing compared to artificial hoębag over here" Ellie says fixing my mascara and eyeliner.

"Here, put this on" She hands me a red strappy bikini.

"Ellie, I am not wearing this. It barely covers my areas" I say, shocked.

"Fine, then wear this" She hands me one that isn't much better. It's another red one thats a little strappy, but not as bad.

I change into the bikini, throwing a t-shirt dress over it.

"Ellie, I don't have the body for this" I say, causing her to roll her eyes.

"Shut up, you do. Let's go" She says helping me take off the dress, walking outside.

"Mason, come on. Let's go to dinner" I hear Alexis say downstairs.

"Lexi, stop. You need to go home right now" Mason says as we make our way down the stairs.

I have clear sight of them both. Alexis's mouth drops open, causing Mason to turn around.

"Woah" He mumbles, stunned.

"I-Is that?" Alexis stutters, causing me to chuckle. Ellie winks at me, interlocking my arm with hers as we continue to the backyard.

"Get out of my house. Right now" Mason says to Alexis.

We get into the hot tub, making small talk. "So, Brooks said that he would take the couch and that you can sleep in my room with me" Ellie says and I nod. "Okay, remind me to say thank you to Brooks later" I smile.

We talk for a while until something catches my eye. A horse?

"Elle, whats that?" I ask pointing to the horse near the fence.

"Oh, that's what I was forgetting. Our friends own that barn over there" Ellie says and my eyes light up.

"No way" I say, running a little to the fence, continuing at a fast pace.

"Hi baby, what's his name?" I ask turning to Ellie who is now next to me, holding a towel for me.

"That is peanut. We can go over there in a little bit if you would like" Ellis says and I nod, smiling.

"Can we tan? I need some color" I say and she nods, looking at her arms.

"Yes, I'm in desperate need of it" She lays her towel down next to mine.

I get my phone, texting Cody.

Leah: Hey Cody, give my best regards to Andrew. I'm in Italy and it's gorgeous here. It would be a little more enjoyable if Mason would have prepared me more. We aren't on the best terms right now, hopefully it all ends up okay. I just wanted to update you. Enjoy your place all to yourself. Don't worry about me. Much love

I sigh, turning my phone off completely, closing my eyes. Italy's strong rays burning me to a crisp.

"So, how big of a past do Mason and Alexis have?" I ask, looking at Ellie.

"Leah, I don't think we should talk about this right now" Ellie says, taking her sunglasses off. The Louis Vuitton print on the reminding me how broke I am.

"How about we go shopping?" She says and I nod, sluggishly getting up.

"Mom, we are going shopping" Ellie says, dragging me up the stairs.

"We need to make you look hot" Ellie winks, searching through her closet.

"This" She gasps handing me a pair of skin tight black jeans and a red Calvin Klein bra.

"No way. This is literally a bra Ellie" I shriek.

She hands me a couple of other dresses and pieces of cloth.

"Ellie, I don't want to do this. I'll just wear this. Please" I say holding a floral, cream colored sundress and a pale blue denim jacket.

"Oh, I really like that. Yeah, wear it with these" She hands me grey wedges. I nod, changing into it.

"I love it" I say, admiring the simple but cute outfit.

"Yes, it looks amazing. After the mall we can take pictures" Ellie says looking at us through the mirror. She's in a red sundress and a pair of strappy sandals. She really pulls it off perfectly.

"Girls? Can I come in?" Brooks asks as I apply some eyeshadow and lipstick, making it matte instead of glossy.

He comes in and smiles at the sight of Ellie, causing her to turn the color of her dress. He hugs her, kissing her cheek. It brings a smile to my face.

"You look amazing" He says holding Ellie at arms length, spinning her a couple times. "Leah, you look great as well" Brooks says to me. I give him a gracious smile, blinking away the tears in my eyes.

Brooks is extremely nice and I know he's trying to make me feel better. But I wish it was Mason who was telling me that. "You girls have fun. Here" Brooks says handing Ellie some money.

"You both buy something. My treat" He says, smiling.

"Brooks-" I say, interjecting. "Leah, please" He says causing me to nod.

"Come here" Ellie says holding her arm out. She embraces me into a group hug. "Thank you" I whisper to them, thankful for friends like them.

"I think when we get home I'll um. I'll talk to Mason" I say, sniffing.

"If that's what you want to do" Ellie smiles softly. She interlocks my arm with hers and we make our way back downstairs.

Shopping went well. I got myself some ice cream and a candy bar. Stress eating is the worst. Ellie tried to stop me but I wouldn't let her. She also ran into a couple of friends. I guess she's here often. Well obviously she is, Alexis is all over Mason.

"What are you thinking about?" Ellie asks as I take a spoonful of ice cream into my mouth.

"How pathetic I am" I mutter out, rolling my eyes.

"Oh Leah, shut up. You look hot. So stop eating that ice cream and show Mason the natural beauty you have, while Alexis is all fücking plastic and silicon" Ellie frowns taking the spoon away from me.

"Please give me back my spoon before I start eating this with my hands" I threaten. I wouldn't actually do it, I just want my spoon back.

"Geez women" She mumbles, handing me back my spoon.

"So gullible" I chuckle, causing Ellie to scowl.

We pull up to the house to see a stressed Mason sitting on the stairs. As soon as the car comes into view he stands up. "Now go, knock some sense into my brother. He was a dįck and make sure you tell him that. I'll put this in the freezer" Ellie says, taking my ice cream from me once again.

I nod, sucking in a breath and blinking back the tears. He hurt me, bad. I don't know if I'm ready to forgive him. Seeing him alone brings tears to my eyes, I just need the back story.

"Leah, can we please talk?" He says, eyes bloodshot. I nod, looking down at my boots. They're adorable.

"Listen, Alexis, she was my first girlfriend. We broke up a while ago, like years ago. I guess she still has feelings for me. But she's nothing more than a friend to me" He explains, tears welling up in my eyes again.

"The smile on your face when you saw her. Mason, she's more than a friend. I can tell. That, right there. What I saw was unfinished. Wether it's just her or just you or the both of you. When she insulted me you just stood there and told her to get out. Listen, I'm not going to take you away from someone you love. But I love you. And I refuse to be lead on. So if you still have feelings for her and want to give it a try, just please. I'm begging you, please tell me" I say choking on my tears.

I can barely see his face through my tears but what I can see is heart breaking.

"Leah, I don't-" He starts before I cut him off. "Just think about it" I blink away my tears, walking past him into the house.

"Aw, boo hoo. Did he break your heart? You should have seen it coming" Alexis smirks as I walk past her.

"Don't fücking talk to me" I snap at her, pushing past her and Brooks. I make sure I bump my shoulder with hers.

"What the fück is wrong with you Lexi?" Elijah spits.

"No, let her go" Brooks stops him from running after me.

My feet pounding on the grass gives me an even bigger headache. I don't even know where I'm going.

I want him to be happy. If she makes him happy then he should be with her. As much as it will pain me. He can't just lead me on like this.

"Fück" I yell, walking into the house. "Where did she go?" I say, tears welling up in my eyes.

"Baby, just leave her. Lets go" Alexis runs her nauseating nails up my arm. "Back off. We've been done for years Lex. We are friends, do you need me to spell it out for you?" I spit out at her.

She's ruining my relationship like its nothing. I can't let her do that.

"Lets go Alexis" Elijah snaps at her. Her face holding so much hurt. I feel bad, but nothing was getting through her thick skull.

"No, where is she?" I turn to Brooks. He points outside where I see her shaking body sitting far away in the grass.

"Fück" I mumble, going to walk past him. "Not a good idea" Brooks stops me.

"Listen man, I don't care. I need to talk to her. Do you think I want her? I don't" I point at Alexis' retreating figure.

"I want Leah, I need Leah. Now let me go and get the only girl I've ever felt this way about, back. Because if I don't, I don't know what will happen to me" I spill my heart out, Ellie's mouth practically falling on the floor.

"Let me talk to her first" Ellie stutters walking out to Leah.

She slowly turns around, black streaks down her face. My heart immediately breaks even more and a couple tears fall down my face.

I'm such a fück up.

"Man, what did you do?" Brooks looks at me. "I-I don't know" I stutter.
