《He Saved Me》Chapter fifty six

Almost as soon as I got home last night I fell asleep.
This morning I woke up bright and early and decided to make myself a cup of coffee and sit on the back porch.
Its summer and I haven't felt this way during summer in a while.
Usually, I would be at work or sitting in my room, scared of being assaulted. Not anymore.
A huge smile makes its way onto my face as I breathe in the fresh air, realizing, I'm finally at peace.
A couple hours pass and Mason makes his way outside.
"Hey beautiful. What are you doing out here?" He kisses me softly, sitting in the chair next to me.
"Just admiring everything, thinking. How'd you sleep?" I smile.
"Okay. I slept good, and you?" He asks.
"Never slept better" I place my mug on the floor next to my chair.
"You're in a great mood" He smiles at me, successfully turning my insides to goo.
"I am" I nod, confirm his statement.
"I'm happy to hear that" He holds his arms out. I get up and sit in his lap, his arms going around me and rocking me back and forth.
"So, I have two date ideas" Mason turns me around.
"And what are those?" I smile.
"Both is dinner. One is fancy, one is more casual. Its up to you" He shrugs.
"More casual, I need more time to get ready for a fancy dinner" I laugh.
"I'll never understand girls" He shakes his head, smiling.
"Yeah, well I'll never understand guys. Y'all are confusing" I smile, standing up.
"I'll give you that" He agrees, standing up with me.
"Good" I nod.
"What do we do now?" I sit at the island, watching Mason make coffee.
"I have plenty of ideas" A smirk spreads on his face.
"Come on Mas, I'm being serious" I shake my head.
"Yeah, so am I" He pours creamer in.
"I'm sure you are" I chuckle, standing up.
"Where are you going?" He looks at me through his eyelashes.
"I'm going to use the restroom. I need to pee" I laugh.
"I'll be in, in a second" He smirks.
"Shut up" I yell, closing and locking the door.
I do my business and meet Mason back in the kitchen.
"Tim and Dani want to go on a double date so we're canceling dinner and rescheduling it" Mason smiles.
"Is this what I think it is?" I whine.
"Yes, it is. Get your jacket and jeans, we're going skating" Mason laughs, hugging me.
"Mason, I literally can't. This is going to be so embarrassing" I sigh.
"It will be only us. Don't worry, you'll be a pro by the time we're done" He smiles, fixing my hair.
"We're going at 2:00" He fixes his shorts.
"I'm going to kill all of you" I shake my head, sitting on the couch.
"You would never. I'm your favorite person" He chuckles, sitting next to me.
"I'll go grab clothes and my freaking jacket. I'm taking your car" I grab his keys.
"What? Now? We have four hours" He turns around.
"I'm going to get clothes, not getting ready. I'll be back in a couple minutes" I kiss him and walk out the door.
This dämn kid.
"You're home?" Cody smirks when he sees me.
"I am, grabbing some clothes" I nod.
"Did you and Mason get it on last night?" He laughs as my eyes widen.
"What?" I shriek.
"Did you do the dirty?" He takes a sip of his drink.

"Zip it Code. I'm grabbing clothes and leaving" I shake my head.
"So you did. I knew it" He laughs.
"Goodbye" I laugh, closing my bedroom door and grabbing some jeans and my jacket. Its not very heavy but it'll do.
I slip out of the apartment and drive back to Masons.
"Honey, I'm home" I call out, joking.
"Oh, great. The kids are in their rooms. Victoria hit Gavin so I had to send her to her room and Gavin followed" Mason smiles, leaving a kiss on my cheek:
I laugh, "Why Victoria and Gavin?"
"First names that popped in my head, chill" He laughs, taking the clothes out of my hand.
"What time do we have to leave here at?" I ask, looking at my phone to see its now 11:30.
"Around 1:30. Are you excited?" Mason smiles as I follow him to his room.
"I'm nervous" I laugh.
"Don't worry. Come on, we'll watch a movie and I'll give you a massage" He smiles, opening the laptop.
I smile, flopping on the bed.
"You don't need to" I spin so I'm laying on my back.
"You're really going to pass up a free massage?" Mason raises his eyebrows, shock apparent on his face.
"I would rather save it" I groan, knowing whats coming in a couple days.
"What was that for?" He laughs, his back against the headboard, his legs straight out.
I shake my head, placing my head in Masons lap, facing the computer.
"Whats going on Le?" He pulls my hair out from under me, gently and plays with it.
"The she-devil" I laugh.
"Samantha?" He remarks, puzzled.
"The other she-devil" I smile. He's so cute.
"Oh" He mumbles. "Gotcha. Well, I'll definitely give you a massage then. Just let me know when, okay babe?" He kisses the top of my head.
"It'll probably be pretty obvious" I sigh.
We continue talking and watching the movie until its time to start getting ready.
I quickly change into the clothes I brought and hold the jacket in my hands, being too hot to put it on. I slide my feet into my sneakers and we head out to the car.
"This is going to be something" I laugh, walking into the ice rink.
"I'm looking forward to it" Mason laughs, walking past the entrance.
"Excuse me, sir, ma'am" A man calls out to us.
"No way, Gabe?" Mason smiles, walking over to him.
"Mason White, its good to see you man. It's been a while" The mans face lights up.
"Wow, what are you doing back here?" Mason smiles, crossing his arms.
"Just back for the summer. Got a job here to help pay and contribute. Who's the beautiful young lady?" He nods at me, a small smile on his face.
"Cool, cool. This is Leah, she's my girlfriend. Leah, this is Gabe, he was on my hockey team two years ago. We were the dynamic duo" He slings an arm around my shoulder.
"It's nice to meet you" I smile, shaking his hand.
"And you. Mason, I'm happy you found someone kid" He nods.
"Shįt, Gabe Avery?" Tim says, walking up behind me.
"No way, Tim. How are you? This can't be a coincidence. Hey, Daniella. How are things?" He says.
"I'm good, I'm good man. Wow, crazy. Back for the summer?" Tim smiles.
"Hey, Gabe. It's decent" Dani smiles, hugging me.
"Go ahead in, on me" He smiles.
"Thanks man, I owe you one" Mason smiles, moving his hand down to the small of my back.

"You owe me more than one" He laughs as we walk in.
"The whole crew is here. Are you excited Le?" Tim laughs.
"No, I'm going to bust my head open" I roll my eyes, taking the skates from Masons hand.
"I'm going to tie mine and then I'll help you with yours" Mason smiles, quickly putting his skates on.
"I can do it" I laugh, putting them on.
"You need to tie them tight otherwise you could break your ankles and they will really start to hurt" Tim explains. "Masons fairly good at it, I have him tie mine sometimes" He continues, laughing.
"Here" Mason pats his lap, instructing me to place my foot up there. I gently do so, making sure the blade doesn't cut him.
He quickly ties them both and we make our way onto the ice.
Tim and Dani go first, quickly skating a lap around. Tim's motions are faster and more rough while Danis are more graceful. Her petite body flies past him.
"Okay, now give me your hands and slowly step on the ice" Mason slips a beanie over his head.
Holy shįt. He looks good.
"Okay, but don't complain when we both end up on the floor" I laugh, placing my hands in his and almost face planting onto the ice.
Mason stifles a laugh.
"Come on Le, you got it" Dani skates up next to me, linking her arm in mine.
"This is so embarrassing" I laugh, trying to catch myself from slipping back.
"Here, Dani, you got her?" Mason asks and Daniella nods.
A couple seconds later I feel Masons hands on my hips, steadying me.
"Lets try something, okay?" Mason says. Daniella nods and skates back, causing my nerves to pick up.
Mason kicks off, gliding us across the ice.
"Okay, nice. Now, look at Danis feet, do you see how they are moving? Push off one and then glide. And keep alternating" Mason explains.
I do as told, lapping around the rink.
"Thats it. Good. Just like that. Do you want to try it on your own now?" Mason stops us, leading us over to Tim and Dani.
"Hęll no" I shake my head violently.
"You have the motions Le" Tim skates up behind Dani, placing his hands on her waist.
"Come on, lets give it a try. I'll hold your hand" Mason pulls on it a little.
"Fine, but don't laugh" I smile, watching as Dani does a leap in the air, landing it perfectly.
"Show off" I mumble, a light chuckle escaping Masons throat.
"You look cute all wrapped up in your coat" He smiles.
"Thank you. I would say you too but I would much prefer the hockey uniform on" I wink, a very faint blush spreading on his face.
"It looks better on you. Then again, all my clothes do" He smirks. "Ready?" He asks. I nod and slowly push off with one food, bending my knees slightly to keep me from toppling over.
"Good, perfect" Mason nods as we slowly move forward.
"You aren't going to fall. I got you" Mason smiles as I wobble a little.
"I think I'll just stick with watching" I laugh, coming to a stop.
"No, you almost have it Le. Soon, you'll be lapping me" He hugs me.
"Now, go by yourself. I'll be in front of you just incase" He skates backwards.
"You can do that meanwhile I'm struggling to stand" I laugh, attempting to move closer to him.
"Yeah, keep going" He urges, his hands held out, almost touching mine.
I make it to him without falling.
"Yeah, Leah" Dani yells, clapping.
A light blush forms on my face and I look up at Mason to see a bright smile.
"You did it" He smiles.
Dani and Tim whip past us, skating in circles.
They come to an abrupt stop and a huge smile spreads on the both of their faces.
"I beat you" They both exclaim.
"You did not" Tim crosses his arms.
"Oh shut up Tim. Not only did you lose to a girl, but you lost to your girlfriend" She sticks her tongue out.
"Oh, you're gonna get it" He shakes his head, causing Dani to try and skate away.
Tim is right behind her and grabs her from her waist, hoisting her into the air.
She gracefully falls into his arms and he smiles down at her. "I got you there" He places her down.
"Yeah, you sure did" She laughs as they make their way over to us.
"You guys are so cute" I smile, gripping onto Masons hand for dear life.
"You seem to be cutting off your boyfriends circulation there" Tim nods at our hands.
"Yeah, just a little" Mason laughs, causing me to loosen my grip.
"Lets go again Le" Mason skates to the opposite side of the rink.
"Are you crazy?" I yell, looking at the distance.
"I'll go with you, come on. You got this. You're a natural Le. Just remember, bend your knees and step, push, glide. Step, push, glide" Dani grabs my hand, leading us to the center.
"I can't do this" I laugh as she lets go.
"Ready? Make it to me and I'll sleep over your place" He gives me a motive.
"If you give up I'm not sleeping with you for a week" He crosses his arms, my mouth falling open.
"Yup, thats right. Exactly what you're thinking" He smirks.
"You're evil" I gasp.
"Come on, time is running out" He sings, my eyes bulging.
"Ready?" Dani asks, causing me to nod.
We slowly make our way to Mason and Tim. There were a couple scares but nothing too bad.
"Good job babe" Mason reaches his hands out, pulling me to his chest when I reach him.
"Thank you" I grin up at him.
"You have good balance. Did you dance?" Dani asks.
"No, I um. I've surfed a couple times" I mess with my rings.
"No way, really? Thats insane" Tim exclaims.
"You did?" Mason looks down at me, eyebrows furrowed.
"Yeah" I mumble, biting my lip.
"It was a long time ago, I don't even remember it really" I shake my head, trying to ignore Masons watchful eyes.
"Okay, well lets skate together since you seem to have the hang of it" Dani claps her hands, smiling.
"Yeah" Mason nods, taking my hand and leaning down.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He whispers in my ear.
"It was like 10 years ago. We were friends at the time. I thought you knew" I whisper back.
I honestly did, it wasn't something I tried to hide.
"No, I-I didn't" He stutters. "My girls a surfer? That's hot" He winks at me.
"Shut up" I shake my head.
"You're just full of surprises babe" He smiles, "Who knew sęx could be such a good motivation for Miss goody two shoes" He whispers, a dark red filling my cheeks.
"Mason White" I scold, trying to keep my voice down.
"What are we doing after this?" Dani asks, bubbly.
"We could go out to eat. My treat" I offer.
"No, I got it" Mason nods.
"Thats what you think" I smile at him.
I reach up, grabbing the beanie from his head and smoothen it over mine. "You looked really good and all but I think I pull it off better" I joke around.
"You definitely do" He nods, a smile on his face.
"No I don't, shut up. Its so warm" I laugh, taking it off and putting it back on his head.
"Thank you" He laughs, fixing it.
"So, you're into the beanie and hoodie look, huh?" He asks, easing my wobbling.
"I'm not usually a whöre for beanies but you look pretty dãmn good. I don't know" I shrug, causing Mason to burst into laughter.
"Is that so?" He smiles, his eyes sparkling.
"Yeah" I nod, whispering.
"You're so fücking cute" He shakes his head, placing a kiss on my hand.
