《He Saved Me》Chapter thirty five

I wake up with a sore neck and a small weight on my chest, Bella. The unfamiliar surrounding confuses me at first, soon being replaced with realization.

I check the time, 10:30. Not bad.

I stroll into the kitchen, humming to a song. I wonder what time Masons game is today.

I turn my music on, careful that it isn't too loud.

'You say you can't live without me

So why aren't you dead yet,

Why you still breathing?'

Madison's voice sings as my eggs cook. I swing my hips along to the beat, embracing the effect music has on me.

"Are you trying to kill me?" Masons raspy morning voice sounds behind me.

I laugh, hugging him. "Good morning, how'd you sleep?" I place a quick kiss on his cheek, flipping the eggs.

"I slept good. How did you sleep?" He smiles, leaning against the counter next to me.

"It was okay. Do you want some?" I say, he nods.

"Thank you" He says when I hand him my original plate.

"What times the game?" I ask, smiling over at him.

"One. These are really good" He says, a smile spreading on my face.

"I'm glad" I finish making my eggs, cleaning up my mess.

"Eat please. I'll clean this" Mason takes the pan out of my hand, nudging me away.

"Fine" I huff. I always feel guilty having other people clean up my mess. Maybe that's because of how I grew up, always cleaning other peoples messes as well as my own.

I quickly finish my eggs. "I need to get ready" I smile, excited for Masons game.

"Okay, have fun" Mason smiles, kissing me on the cheek.

I grab some leggings out of my bag, which is still in Masons room. Rummaging through my tight shirts gets me frustrated. I cant wear any of these, doctors orders.

I huff, falling back onto Masons bed.

"Le? Are you alright?" He asks. I nod, looking at his closet. I could just steal one of Masons hoodies.

He smiles, digging through his drawer. "Do you think you could wear my jersey?" He holds his hand out, nervously.

"Of course I will Mas" I blush, leaving a quick kiss on his lips. Well that solves my problem.

I grab some socks, a sports bra and head into the bathroom.

Masons hockey jersey is even bigger than his football one. I laugh at my reflection. I flip it up, tucking some corners into my leggings so I'm no longer swimming in it.

Quickly curling my hair and applying some light but flattering makeup, I am ready faster than I had planned.

"What do you think?" I question, doing a playful twirl.

"You look hot in my clothes" He smirks, eyeing me up and down. My face flushes causing me to bury my head in my hands.

"Who knew you wearing leggings and an oversized shirt could turn me on more than skinny jeans and a tight shirt" He whispers in my ear, goosebumps forming all over my body.

My eyes practically fall out of my head and Mason chuckles. He continues his workout. "I'm..uh. Gonna go feed Belle" I stutter, rushing out of the room.

What the actual fück?

I shake my head, clearing my thoughts. Bella prances around, happy to be eating.

I pull my phone out, scrolling through my Instagram which is extremely dry. Might as well just make some coffee. We have a half hour before Mason has to be there. Tara and Jim are meeting us there.

"Whatcha doing?" Mason smiles, dropping his bag next to the island.

"Coffee and Netflix" I laugh, looking up at him. Of course he is shirtless.

He leans against the island across from me. Beads of sweat are scattered across his forehead. "Enjoying the view?" He smirks, catching me ogling him.

What is up with all the smirking today?

"I sure am" He grins as I walk to the fridge, grabbing my creamer. "Mason" I shriek, embarrassed.

"Nothing to be embarrassed of. If you got it might as well flaunt it. Especially around me" He wraps me in a hug.

"You're evil" I laugh, pouring some creamer in my coffee. I take a sip, feeling the hot liquid slide down my throat.

"How much time till we have to go?" I sit back on my stool next to Mason.

"Fifteen minutes" He smiles, taking a sip of my coffee.

"You're going to put a shirt on right?" I say, hoping he will.

"Of course" He chuckles, going through his bag and grabbing a plain black t-shirt.

Man would he look good in a leather jacket.

"Earth to Leah" Mason snaps in my face. "Hm?" I shake my head. "You're loosing it" He teases causing me to frown. "Kidding babe, lets go" He grabs my hand, pulling me to the door.

We get into the car and Cody texts me the address of his place. "Oh, can you drop me off at Codys after the game?" I ask Mason.

"Yeah, what for?" He says, pulling out of the driveway. "Shoot, I forgot to tell you. I meant to last night but I fell asleep. Cody offered me a room at his place. He was looking to rent it and said I could have it if I wanted. I'm going to check it out" I smile.

"Oh" He says, I can tell he feels uneasy. "Mason, you do know that I would never cheat on you, right? Do you not want me to stay with Cody?" I ask.

"I don't know you would never do anything like that or to hurt me. But I mean, look at you. It just makes me nervous, thats all" He frowns.

"Mas, look at you. Girls fling themselves at you 24/7. I'm terrified that you are going to find someone new but I do trust you. I want you to trust me too" I say.

"I do, I trust you so much. I don't trust him"

"I've known him for years. He's like my brother and would never do that. I promise"

"Okay, you can go look at it. But I would like to meet him before anything is finalized if thats okay" He says, uneasy.

I don't want this to be a problem or cause a problem between us. Cody is and never will be anything more than a brother/friend figure.

"Of course" I grab his free hand, lacing our fingers together.

We pull up to the rink a couple minutes later.

"We'll go find Dani and then I'll go get dressed" Mason says, his arm around my waist, making everything a little easier.

We walk in and the bleachers are covered. We walk over to Dani and Mason kisses me goodbye and runs into the locker room.

"I brought you some coffee" She smiles handing out a cup for me. "You shouldn't have" I joke, thanking her.

We make quiet conversation as the boys come out. Mason smiles at me and I hear squealing from behind me. "He just smiled at me" One girl says. "Who? Mason? He would never. He smiled at me obviously"

This is exactly what I was telling Mason about. I sigh, trying to block out the annoying comments.

"Actually, girls. He was smiling at his girlfriend" Dani shuts them up. "Thank you" I smile at her. "Don't mention it" She smiles back as the game begins.

"Sorry we're late" Tara and Jim rush up to us, hugging the both of us. "How was your date last night?" I smile.

"It was great, a lot of fun" Tara smiles.

"Go Mason" Jim calls out as he steals the puck from someone. I stand up, clapping as best I can with an injured wrist.

He swiftly shoots it in the net, who would've know he was out for a couple weeks. It looks like he never stopped playing.

A smile lights up his face, as we make eye contact. He hits his chest twice, pointing to me and I return the gesture, memories from football season cloud my brain.

"Leah's in loveee" Daniella coos when I sit back down. "Oh shush up. I could say the same about you and Tim" I tease her.

The game goes extremely fast. We won by a landslide. "Good to have you back, White" Coach pats Mason on the back as he comes out of the locker room.

His hair is stuck to his forehead. His black t-shirt and grey joggers sticking to his body. He definitely took a quick shower. "Good job Mas" I smile, hugging him.

"Thank you hun" He kisses my cheek. "There he is" The same girls who were sitting behind us whispers.

I look at them, smirking, before connecting my lips with Masons.

Petty, I know.

He smirks before kissing me back. "You showered?" I ask, pulling away.

"I did" He throws his arm around my shoulders. "Fix your hair" I tease, ruffling it.

He laughs, running his fingers through it.

"Okay, see you guys. I gotta get Leah to Cody's" Mason waves and we head out.

"I'm still not sure about this" Mason says nervously.

"Do you want to come in?" I ask, having absolutely nothing to hide.

"Yeah, if thats not a problem" He answers.

Soon we pull up to the address and meet Cody there. "Hey Le. You must be Mason?" He greets us.

"Yeah, Mason White, Leah's boyfriend" He introduces himself.

"Well its nice to meet you. Come along" He smiles, leading us to his apartment.

He gives us a small little tour and then shows me the empty bedroom. It is perfect size for me and I would get my own small bathroom right across the hall. It seems perfect for me.

"I'll let you know later today. Thank you so much" I hug Cody goodbye. Mason and him really seemed to have hit it off. Hopefully he trusts us both enough to let me agree to this offer.

"So?" I question, nervously. "I like him, doesn't seem like a threat at all. You can get it, I have no problems" He smiles, causing a huge smile to spread on my face.

"Thank you" I kiss his cheek, texting Cody. I'll be moving in very soon.

"So what are you doing today?" I smile at Mason. "I have nothing planned" He shrugs, grabbing the bear off the floor.

"I'm home Mas, and coming in. So stop whatever you're doing" Ellie yells opening the door.

"Oh, okay. We are going out, the four of us" She sits on his desk chair, spinning.

"Thats what I'm doing today" Mason chuckles. "Aw, she's wearing your jersey" Brooks coos, teasing Mason. "Shut up man" He shrugs Brooks off him.

"I like it, you look hot" Ellie smirks causing Mason to smile. "See, I told you" He says, my face heats up and everyone laughs.

"Okay, well are you guys ready? You should probably change Le" Ellie sits up.

"Go ahead, but theres nothing. I cant wear anything tight if I want these bad boys to heal fast and nicely" I laugh, laying down in Masons bed.

"Try this" Ellie hands me a shirt. "Elle, this is so tight" I say holding up a crop top.

"Here, you can wear one of my hoodies" Mason says, Ellie shakes her head quickly. "Fine, or you can wear one of my t-shirts but don't cut or destroy it. Please" He says to Ellie.

"Fine, grab a hoodie and lets go" Ellie says, ushering us out. "I can't wait to see you in that hoodie" He whispers, kissing me on the cheek.

My cheeks flush and I quickly change out of the jersey, folding it and placing it on Masons dresser. His purple hoodie is down to my thighs and smells like Mason.

Flipping the bottom a couple times to make it shorter I go downstairs, pulling my arms up to hide my hands in the soft material.

"They're outside honey" Tara calls. I thank her and head out to the car.

"Well don't you look cute" Mason smiles, pulling me next to him and kissing my neck as soon as my äss touches the seat.

"Where are we going?" I giggle, pushing Mason away.

"Dinner and shopping" Ellie smiles and Mason and Brooks groan.

"Come on, Leah needs more clothes" She smirks, pulling out of the driveway.

"I'm tired" I yawn, putting my head on Masons shoulder. "Mm, me too" He mumbles.

"Lazy number one and lazy number two get up" Ellie yells causing me to jump. I roll my eyes and place my head back on Masons shoulder. Its really comfortable.

'There you go

Getting so overly comfortable, baby

Does it ever cross your mind?

Like oh no, she wants to be in somebody else's photo

On the low-low'

Fools blares, a huge smirk on Ellie's face. "Oh come on Elle-You don't know what I'm thinking, you don't even try" I say, stopping my sentence to sing the next line.

"Leahhh" Mason groans covering my mouth as I scream along to the lyrics.

"Ässhole" Ellie laughs at Masons actions. He quickly removes his hand and Ellie turns the music down a little. I continue humming along to the song as we finish up the drive.

This is going to be quite the adventure.

"Come on Le" Ellie gushes as we pull up to the mall. She's practically running to the entrance. "Have fun" Brooks teases, turning to talk to Mason as Ellie drags me into the doors.

Great.

A couple stores and headaches later and we are almost done. I hope.

"Elle, are we almost done?" I sigh, sitting on a bench. "Yeah, one more store and then we'll get dinner. Come on" She urges. I look at Mason, a frown on his face. "You guys go ahead, we'll catch up" Mason says, allowing me to rest for a minute.

"Are you okay Le?" He hugs me. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired" I lean my head on his shoulder, scanning the area. All clear.

So far theres been no Patrick sightings, thank God. But I'm not counting it out. Its not a trip to the mall without running into Patdįck.

"Whats going around in that pretty mind of yours?" Mason smiles, kissing my temple. "How bad I want food" I laugh standing up. "Lets get this over with. I want to pick an outfit for you" I grab Masons hand.

"Good luck with that Le. I wear the basics" He laughs.

Nows my chance.
