《He Saved Me》Chapter thirty

I woke up to complete silence. I grab my phone, relief washing over me when I realize I won't see those nasty texts again.
Holy shįt I slept late. How is it still so silent?
I slowly get up, wincing at my sore thighs. Going down the stairs is going to be some trouble.
I'm halfway down the stairs when I hear Mason. "Yeah man, she's still sleeping. I'm worried about her" He says causing me to pause.
"She's strong Mas. She'll push through" Brooks answers.
I block out the rest of the private conversation, continuing my way down the stairs.
When I finally make it to the kitchen his back is to me. He's wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and no shirt of course. His back and arm muscles are bulging, making it obvious that he's tense.
I put my finger over my lips at Brooks, sending him the message. He makes some noise to block out mine, as I walk over to him.
"Calm down hun" I say, hugging Mason from the back.
He melts into my hug, automatically.
"Whats wrong?" I whisper, causing him to turn around.
"No, nothings wrong" He says clearing his throat, his rock hard abs up against my chest.
"Whens your next game? Wait, you can't play with stitches" I say, realization flashing. He looks down sheepishly.
"How long do you need them in?" I say, guilt filling my body. "The doctor said 2, maybe 3 weeks. They aren't that bad" Mason says and I nod.
"How long is the season?" I ask, nervously. "Typically, around 2 months so I'll be able to play" He smiles, handing me a plate.
On the plate are some scrambled eggs and fruit. My favorite. "Thank you" I smile, bringing it to the table.
"So, what are your plans for today?" I ask, sticking a strawberry in my mouth.
"Whatever yours are" He smiles, eating some eggs.
"Mason, you need to get out. Have fun. Live a little" I laugh causing Mason to chuckle.
"I'm perfectly fine with hanging out with you" He shrugs, right on cue Brooks comes in.
"Hey bro, Samantha is having a party. The guys said everyone goes or you get kicked off the team" Brooks says, evidently he really wants to go.
"Thats bull man. I'm the captain" Mason laughs, eating some pineapple.
"So? Come on, just go. Please? Ellie said she doesn't want to go so she will stay with Leah. Please Mason, get out for a little, we wont stay long" Brooks says.
"He'll go" I answer, looking at him expectantly.
"Fine, I'll go. But only for a little" Mason says as Brooks skips out of the kitchen.
"Thank you Mason. I don't want you to babysit me all the time" I smile and he nods.
"Just remember who's party is it" He coos, causing me to roll my eyes.
"I trust you. Have a couple beers tonight" I say to him, he looks at me confused.
"You need to let lose a little. Just please don't come home drunk" I smile and he nods, uneasy.
"Is this a test?" He asks and I shake my head. "I promise its not"

"Alright fine" He smiles, eating some more fruit.
Fruit salad is my absolute favorite thing. I would take it over ice cream any day. Summer can't come fast enough.
Ellie and Brooks walk in, laughing at something.
"Hey Brooks, do you think you could drop me off at my job on the way to the party?" I say ignoring Masons stare.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you can't work in that condition" Brooks says uneasy.
"Thank you Brooks" Mason says, sipping his coffee.
"How will I pay for the bills then?" I sigh, crossing my arms.
"Leah, you are in no shape to run around Starbucks, call your boss and ask if you can do something in the back with less movement" Mason says causing me to roll my eyes.
"I have to move. Doing any of the same thing for too long hurts my back like you couldn't imagine" I say, tired of being crippled.
"Does it hurt right now?" Mason asks, looking at me.
"Yeah, a little. But its fine" I say, looking down.
"Come here" He says softly.
"Mason, I'm alright, really" I say, looking into his gorgeous blue eyes. They aren't as dark as usual. More of like a sky blue.
He pushes his chair out, going over to the sink. He places our plates in the sink, washes them and his hands.
"Mason, I could have done that" I laugh. He gives me no answer, just grabbing my hand. He leads me upstairs into his room.
"Whats wrong?" I ask, nervously.
"Can you lay on your stomach or does it hurt too bad?" He asks, looking for something in his bathroom.
"No, it hurts" I say, frowning.
"Okay, so sit like that. I'll be right back" He says staring at his phone.
"There you are, can you go get Leah's medicine for me?" I hear muffled voices.
Soon Mason walks back in with small bottles in his hands.
"Hm, do you think you could change into a regular bra?" Mason says, placing the bottles on the towel.
"Mason, what the fück are you doing that you want me to change my bra?" I ask, scared of the answer.
"I'm going to give you a massage. Your back is hurting and this always helps me when I have sore muscles" He says, love in his eyes.
"That's extremely sweet. You don't have to" I smile, blushing a little.
"I know I don't, but I want to" He says, I nod softly.
I grab a bra from my bag, quickly going in the bathroom to change. It was a struggle to get out of the sports bra but I made it work.
I throw my shirt over my head quickly, walking back into Masons room to see him typing something on his phone.
"Ellie's on her way home with the medicine" Mason says looking up at me. His eyes scanning my face, bringing tears to his eyes.
"Mas, I'm okay" I say grabbing his face, lightly kissing his lips.
"I know, I'm sorry" He says, sniffing. I sit on the bed, next to him, pulling the shirt up a little. "May I?" Mason asks grabbing the bottom of my shirt, causing me to nod my head.

He's so respectful.
"Okay, lets do this before Brooks interrupts us" He says as the door opens.
"Shįt, I'm not looking. Please, put a sign on the door that you're doing the nasty" He shrieks causing my face to heat up.
"I-we aren't" I say, causing Mason to chuckle.
"Mason?" Brooks says, his face scrunched up.
"Its safe bro, not yet" Mason winks. This dirty dog.
"Mason" I blush, hitting his arm causing both Brooks and Mason to laugh.
"Brooks, toss me that blanket" Mason says pointing to my fluffy blanket.
Brooks throws it to him, Mason unfolds it in return, handing it to me. i put it over my front half, confused on how this is going to work.
"Brooks, out" Mason orders causing Brooks to walk out, rolling his eyes.
"Okay, I've never really done this before. Never mind with someone sitting up. So if you are comfortable, then this would probably work better with no shirt on. And then we can work around the bra strap. But only if you are comfortable. If not then I can just figure something else out" He says, scratching his neck.
"It's okay Mason" I laugh, taking my shirt off as best as I can. I quickly cover my front up with the blanket.
"Okay, let me know if it hurts or you want me to stop" Mason says and I nod in response, yawning.
I grab my phone. My Instagram notifications are blowing up.
Tylerrrr08: Where have you been? Starbucks has been dead without you!
Samuel.Smith: I heard some rumors, wanna debunk them for me?
CodyJay: Feel better ❤️
starburst156: Guys, leave her in peace
Sammygirl: Hey @Samuel.Smith
Samuel.Smith: Um, hi? @Sammygirl

The smell of lavender fills the air, making my anxiety decrease. I've been really anxious ever since the accident. I'm even more nervous of what would happen if my parents ever got out of prison. Chills wrack my body, making Mason tense.
"Le? You okay " He asks causing me to nod. "Yeah. Yeah I'm fine, sorry" I say, a tear sliding down my face.
Masons cold hands come in contact with my bare skin, "Sorry" he mumbles. He gently massages the essential oils into my skin, relaxing my muscles. This goes on for a little bit in silence.
"So what time is the party?" I ask, making small talk.
"Probably around 10" Mason says causing me to nod.
"I'm coming in. Heres the medicine" Ellie says putting the bag on Masons bed, leaving.
I glance through it , picking through the bag. Some medicines I have to take twice a day until the doctor says I'm done.
"Thats good. I'm glad you will get out of the house and relax a little bit" I smile even though he can't see it.
His hands move up to my shoulders, gently working a knot in between my neck and shoulder blade. Stress with do that to you.
"Yeah, well. I've been relaxed knowing that if, god forbid, but if anything happens I'm here. But, now I'll be out so I'll have to rely on other people" He says, sounding nervous.
"Mas, I'm fine. I promise. I would tell you if something was wrong. I feel great right now. And this is really helping" I say, struggling to keep my eyes open.
"Okay, please text me if you need anything or aren't feeling right. I'll have my phone on at all times" He says.
"Okay, Thank you Mason" I smile, picking at the strap on my boot.
"Do you want to watch a movie?" I ask, grabbing Masons laptop, quickly logging in.
"Yeah, I would love to. I'm almost done. I'm just going to put this cream that helps with bruises. I use it for football all the time. So if it hurts, let me know and i'll stop" He says and I nod, bracing myself.
Mason applies barely any pressure, lightly spreading the cream around the big, purple area.
"Are you okay?" He asks, finishing up. I nod, moving my arms in a circular motion.
"Here, let me help you get up" Mason says, standing in front of me, his arms stretched towards me.
"Mas, Brooks wants you. He says you guys need to go soon. So he said go down to the kitchen. Le, come in my room. We are going to have a movie night" She claps her hands, smiling brightly.
"Okay, one second" Mason say stripping from his bed shirt. I let my eyes trail down to his prominent V line. He's definitely been working out more.
Mason clears his throat, a smirk on his face. My cheeks ignite into the brightest red ever, causing Mason to chuckle, turning around.
His back muscles flex as he looks for a shirt to wear.
"Which one?" He asks holding a purple one and a blue one. "Blue" I answer right away. He looks at me curiously.
"What? Blue is your color" I say shrugging, limping my way to my bag.
I stare at it for a few seconds, thinking about the best way to do this before I pick it up with my good hand, throwing it to Masons bed. "Sorry" I smile sheepishly.
"Don't worry about it Le. I need to make my bed anyways" He says, now looking in the mirror. He is wearing some black jeans and his blue and black long sleeve shirt. His hair is in the process of being styled even more to perfection and there isn't a single wrinkle anywhere.
I shake my head laughing, rummaging through my bag.
"Whatcha looking for?" Mason comes up from behind me, wrapping his arms around me. "My chapstick. It like disappeared" I say, desperately searching for it. I'm screwed without it.
"I saw it a couple minutes ago" Mason hums, scanning the room for it, before checking his bed.
"It's okay. Don't worry about it. Go to Brooks and have fun today please" I smile, kissing him.
He kisses me back, gently. The kids holds so much love, making me knees feel like freshly cooked noodles.
"Okay, I will" He smiles, walking downstairs.
I ignore the fact that my chapstick completely disappeared, limping to Ellie's room. Hopefully she has some I can borrow.
