THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 10K READS!!

Read the authors note please!!

Brooks just texted Ellie that they are here.

I just told the girls about Mason and I and how I really like him. Like a lot. I think I might tell him today. I want to be with him. He makes me feel so safe, even from my parents. Thats something I thought no one could ever do. He's helped me through so much and I don't know how I could ever repay him.

Mason and Brooks walk in, Brooks smiles at me and then walks over to Ellie.

Mason comes to me of course.

"Mas, you did ama-" I say but get cut off my him grabbing my face gently, placing his lips on top of mine.

Fireworks go off in my stomach.

The kiss lasts a couple seconds until Mason pulls away, leaning his forehead on mine.

"I love you, Leah" He whispers, his eyes closed.

"I-I love you too Mason" I say, his eyes open and smile spreads across both of our faces.

He sits down on the bed next to me, staring at my face.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He breathes out, scared to hear the answer.

"Of course" I smile, leaving a kiss on his forehead.

His eyes light up, another smile spreading across his face. This time bigger than the last. I mimic his actions.

His hair is all stuck to his forehead, cheeks still slightly red. His ocean blue eyes are sparkling. He is wearing a tight red shirt, showing off his pecs and the rest of his muscles.

He smirks at the fact that I'm checking him out with no shame.

I blush, burying my head in my hands.

"Hey, look at me" He whispers, picking my head up.

"Sorry" I blush again. What is happening to me?

"You are over there looking like. Well like that and I'm here with stitches in my head, wearing a hospital gown" I say rolling my eyes.

"Is that supposed to make a difference? Because you always look amazing" He says, holding my hands.

I blush again, hitting his arm.

"What did I do" He laughs.

"Stop making me blush" I whine, putting my cold hands onto my cheeks.

"Here, let me help" He laughs, gently placing his hands on my face.

"Holy-" I say, flinching at the coldness.

"Sorry, too much?" He asks, sheepishly.

"No, I just wasn't expecting it" I say putting his hands back on my face.

When I look away everyone is coming back into the room, I didn't even know they left.

"How are you feeling?" Mason asks, causing me to smile.

"Crappy, but better" I smile, hinting at the kiss.

"Ms. Leah, It seems that we need to get you a bigger room. You have a lot of people that care about you" The doctor says laughing. I put Masons hands down, turning my attention to the doctor.

"Hi Doctor Simpson. How are you?" I ask, laughing.

"I'm doing good. How are you feeling? Any worsen pains?" He asks and I nod.

"Yeah, actually. My ribs hurt a lot more than earlier" I say and he nods.

"Okay, we should check out the internal bleeding, make sure its not getting worse" He says and I suck in a breath. The thought of surgery terrifies me.

I nod, not trusting my voice.

"Sounds good. I'll send some nurses in. In the meantime, I would suggest to eat that ice cream soon" The doctor says and I thank him.

He walks out and Mason and Ellie both grab a hand.

"It's gonna be okay Le" Ellie says, Brooks hand on her shoulder.

"You're strong Leah. This isn't anything you wouldn't be able to handle" Tara says and I nod.

"Hi Leah, we are going to take you for a CT scan right now and take some blood" A nurse says coming in. I nod, kissing Mason on the cheek and they wheel me out of the room.

I pick up my phone, looking at the picture of Mason and I and then the date that is apart of my home screen.

That day, it still hurts.

A tear slips out and then I am brought into the CT scan.

It was very fast, thankfully. When I went back to the room it was just Tara and Jim.

"Where is everyone?" I ask, confused.

"They went to get some lunch. Mason is starving" Jim says and I nod.

"Listen, Leah. Jim and I have been talking and we would really feel a lot better if you stayed at our house until college. Especially now. I mean, with a broken arm and leg, it will be hard for you to get around and the four of us could help you" Tara says and I nod.

"My parents really want me home" I say, wishing I could stay at the Whites.

"Leah, you are in terrible condition. The doctor might not even let you back home. Don't you think they notice that your biological parents haven't even stepped foot into this building?" Jim says and I nod.

"I know, but-" I say, stopping myself. Jim and Tara give me a curious look and I shake my head.

"I wish I could accept your offer. I really do. I just don't think it would work out" I say and Tara nods.

"Leah, I don't want you to get even more hurt. You won't be able to protect yourself in this condition. Please" Tara says, her lip quivering.

"I never do protect myself Tara, thats why I have made it this far" I say, blankly.

I'm not going to cry anymore. I'm stronger than this. I need to stop acting like a baby when I'm almost a legal adult.

"Leah, I don't know the whole story. I really don't. But I know the important stuff. And that, that scares me along with everyone else. I see the way Mason acts when he knows you are at home, its not good. Please, come with us or Mason will go with you" Jim says and my heart drops.

"I-I can't do either" I stutter out. I would never put Mason in that position to possibly get hurt.

"Can't do what?" Mason smiles, walking in the room

"We were explaining how we don't want Leah to go back home and to stay with us otherwise you will go home with her to make sure she's safe" Jim says and Mason nods.

"Yeah, that was the plan" Mason says, serious.

"Mason, you're kidding right? I'm not agreeing to either of those" I say and he shrugs.

"Yes you are. One or another Le. Not a hard choice, I think we both know the best one" He crosses his arms, not backing down.

"You're smarter than this Mas. I have three more weeks. That's nothing. I'll be okay" I say and he shakes his head.

"Just think about it. I trust you will make the right choice" Mason says, love in his eyes.

I groan, throwing my head back.

A knock sounds at the door and everyone comes back in, including the doctor.

"Ms. Williams, I have the results of the test" He says and I nod, nerves filling my body.

Mason grabs my hand, anxiously.

"Everything looks okay. The internal bleeding has stopped. Which means no surgery. But it does look like you're a little low on blood. We will come back soon and see how thats looking and then we will decide if you need a blood transfusion" He says and I nod.

"I've also decided that we will be putting your foot into a boot instead of a cast since you also have a broken arm. It will take a little longer to heal but I feel it will work better in the long run. Are there any questions?" He finishes and I nod, smiling.

"Yes, I have one actually. Since everything is looking good, do you think she will get out early?" Tara says, hopeful.

"Yes, right now we are aiming towards Thursday" He says nodding. Just two more days Leah.

"Okay, thank you doctor" I smile and he nods, walking out.

"That's great, I'm so happy to hear that" Jim says and I smile.

"So am I" I lean back, shutting my eyes.
