《The Reject (On Hold)》Chapter 14

I woke up the next day with my head pounding. Must have been from skipping dinner last night. Memory from last night suddenly come back to me.
Holding my head I get up and take a shower and removing my make up. Before stepping into the shower, my head is empty and I can't think of anything.
I feel slightly calmer when the hot water hit my body. My mind start to become clearer and I can finally reorganise my thought.
Last night was my moment of weakness. But I promise to Sierra that it'll be the last time that we will cry or even care about our mates.
Starting from now on, we're nothing but strangers and I'll move on. Once finished, I took a towel and wrap it around my body.
Stepping out from my bathroom, I see my sword near my bed. Then memories of my hellish training came back to me.
My bloodied hands from holding a sword for too long, I can still feel the pain from it. There was also that time when I almost drowned because I was too tired and cold.
What was I thinking last nigh? I'm not weak! I shouldn't let myself crumble just because of a mere incident.
Finish changing my clothes, I head out to the pantry to find some snacks to munch. I grab some snack bars and head back to my room.
On my way back, the pack's Beta ask me to meet his Alphas on their office. They want to talk about the accusation that I made to Michelle.
Before heading there, I try to look for the groups and I ask them to come with me. I inform them that it's time for them to play their role.
I also mind link Riley, asking him to bring some pack warriors into the office in case something were to happened.
We arrive in front of the office. I ask them to wait outside while I entered alone. Inside, there's a pissed off Michelle alongside my ex-mates.
"Well someone's not having a good day." Sierra state with a hint of sarcasm.
The Alphas proceed to inform me that they have found some evidence of Michelle's mistreating the pack members.
Some of the pack members that was under Michelle's care admitted to Michelle misconducts when they're interviewed one by one.
But Michelle is still in denial. She refuse to accept the charges and accuse me under the pretext that I'm trying to ruin her reputation.
"Geez, this girl is so infuriating." I spoke to Sierra.

"Yeah tell me about it. I think something is wrong with her head."
They both ask me to bring the witnesses inside to strengthen their proof. The groups were Michelle's most recent victims.
Even after the group's testifying against her, she choose to refuse the truth and begging my ex-mates for her innocence.
At one point, she scream like a mad man and cursing at me for "accusing" her. Then she lunge herself towards me but she's stop by one of my royal guards.
The Alphas find her guilty and she'll be no longer in charge of training the pack members.
"She's as good as being a trophy wife." Sierra said with voice full of disgust.
After Michelle's escorted outside, the Alphas handed me the group's paper for pack transfer and it's already signed.
I thanked them and instruct the groups to stay as close as the royal guards because Michelle could already begin plotting against them.
Without wasting any second, I hurry and get out of the room before they could say anything.
Throughout the whole day, I've been trying to evade my ex-mates like they're some kind of a plague.
I'm not sure whether they notice it or not but I don't care. I just don't want to be put in an awkward situation where I have to force myself to be nice.
Tomorrow is finally the day that I leave. I can't wait to put some distance between us.
We will leave at night time when the street is less crowded so we could speed up along the way.
After tonight's dinner, I pack my things up and I assist Riley in taking care of some documents.
The next day in order to occupied my mind and to avoid them, I stay the whole day at the pack's training room.
Luckily, the gym is empty and I can use it to my heart's content. Everyone is probably busy preparing for the dinner party tonight.
After lunch, Riley ask me to attend a meeting that consist of his royal guards and Grace. They'll need to devise a plan for tonight departure.
Me and Riley are going to be the first to leave this pack with my Tuatara. In the next hour, Grace with the remaining royal guards will depart.
Alpha Claude and Caesar have agreed to lend us their car so that the group can ride alongside Grace and the others.
Finishing our meeting, I pack my bags into my car and take a shower preparing myself for dinner.
"Just one last time Sierra. Bear with it. We'll leave soon after."

Sierra didn't reply and just nod. I may have start to move on but it's not that simple for Sierra. I know that she's still hurt by their action.
It's time. I double checked my room and there's nothing left except for my sword.
I bring it downstairs towards the hall where I can smell food. I'm slightly late as dinner is already served.
I take my seat beside Riley and I start to eat whatever is in front of me. Focusing on my dinner is hard, as I could feel that I'm being stared at.
Without having to look I know who's giving me that uncomfortable feeling. If your answer is my mates than you're absolutely right.
Let's also not forget about Michelle's stare. She must be over the moon knowing that I'll be leaving soon enough.
Riley notice my discomfort and ask if there's something wrong with my food. I tell him that I'm fine, not wanting to ruin Riley's dinner.
He just shrugged and continue to eat.
They keep continue staring at me. It drove me to the point of frustration. If they don't stop their stare, I swear to god, I'll gouge their eyes open right here, right now.
I move my gazes towards them with a challenging look. I know they hate it when I disrespect them and that's what I'll do right now.
However, instead of those stares, I see that their face turn tense. Meaning that they're in a mind link.
Their face suddenly change into a horrid look while he continue his mind link. Claude stand up from his seat.
"I want every elderly, children and those who's unable to fight move to the pack's safe room." Claude voice boomed around the hall.
"Rogues are heading this way. There are at least a hundred of them and they're coming fast."
"All of you who's able to fight, report back to your group's leader and they'll tell you what to do. I want you all to be ready in ten minutes."
Hearing those news makes my blood freeze. At least a hundred of rogues are coming, and it's a big possibility that I'm their target.
I take my sword with me and about to head outside when Riley grab my arm and stopping me.
"You're going to stay in the safe room with Grace."
"Like hell I would, they're coming for me and these people will be in danger. I need to help them."
"It's the more reason you must stay behind. We can't let them get you."
"Look, Grace is the one who's in danger and I'm still drinking the witch's potion. I'll be safe and I'm going to take another potion just to be safe."
"Edith! Listen to me, if you're hurt, I won't be able to forgive myself and I can't face your dad if there's something were to happened to you."
"Riley, please trust me. I'm going to be just fine. I'm a princess and I should protect my people. What kind of a leader am I if I cower away when my people need me the most."
Riley stay silent knowing I was right but I can see that he'll never let me go to the battlefield knowing that my life would be in a thread.
"Look, we can compromise. Half of the guards will went to the safe room alongside Grace. You and the rest will go with me to face the rogue."
He sigh and accept my proposal with a look of dejection. Two of the guards including Riley's body double will go with Grace to the safe room.
While Riley alongside two royal guards will accompany me. I walk myself to the garage and took the potions from my bag inside the car.
We quickly run outside but again, I'm stop by a hand.
"What are you doing here?" It's Caesar judging from his voice.
"Are you blind?" Not wanting to talk much. He gazed at my sword and look back at me.
"Not happening."
"Under who's order?" I ask.
"Mine."
"First of all you're not my alpha so you can't tell me what to do. Second of all get your hand of me. Last, mind your own fucking business." I yanked my arm away from him.
"You'll do as I say and go to the safe room with the others."
"Stop playing the "I'm worried about you" card. I'll do what I want and you have no right to stop me."
I walk away and head into the open field where the rogue will arrive soon. I take out my sword from its sheath and the beautiful pattern on it shows.
No matter how many times I look at my sword, I'll never get bored. Since Riley isn't able to transform to, he use his sword that's made from silver to defend himself.
Not long after, I could hear soft patter from afar. Alerting me that the rogues are almost here.
