《The Reject (On Hold)》Chapter 10

I feel my elbow giving up on me. My defence start to open and punches start to hit my face.
"Edith! Wake up! Don't fall asleep!"
"I'm tired Sierra, please just let me rest."
"WE'LL LOSE!"
"Let it be, I don't care anymore."
"Edith, please! Please don't give up. I beg of you, just fight one more time."
"What good will it be even if we win? We will never get our mate back anyway! They gave up on the night they reject us!"
"So you're just going to accept it? Remember what they have put us through Edith! You almost lose me because of them!"
I remember the pain that I felt when I can't sense Sierra. The day when I thought that I had lost her.
A sudden surge of power overwhelm me and some of my fighting spirit start to come back.
"I won't accept it but how am I going to fought back against her. She's strong! She's a white wolf remember!"
"Concentrate! First you should strengthen your defense and wait for any opening."
After Sierra finish her sentence, I do what she told me to. I notice her punches pack less power and her speed have gradually slow down.
When she's about to swing her arm towards me, I catch her arm and pushing it towards her abdomen, perfectly locking it.
I grip the behind of her shirt and wiggle myself making her lose her balance. Exchanging my position with her, now I sit in her abdomen while she protect her face with her elbow.
Her elbow is tightly griping her face. So I grip her elbow and swinging it up and slamming it down making her head hit the ground repeatedly.
I quickly get up and Michelle start to stand up but I can see her feet are wobbly after her head got repeatedly hit on the ground.
"Now Edith! Finish her while she's still recovering!"
With Edith encouragement, I barrage her with punches and hitting her unprotected area. Her defense start to fall and with one last kick to her face, she fall down.
I try to breath as much air as I can. That moves a while ago really took a lot of my stamina. Claude and Caesar quickly ran towards her.
They announce that Michelle is unconscious. Hence, she is unable to continue the fight and I'm the winner.
Everyone is shocked. How can a mere werewolf beat a white wolf. Question running through their mind and greed soon overcome them.
Thinking that their Luna is weak and her position belong to anyone who can beat her.
"Look at this pack. Their Luna just got beaten to a pulp and the only thing on their mind is taking the position for themselves." Sierra spoke to me.

"I know but their Alpha and Luna bring this to themselves."
"Serves them right."
I never thought that Sierra would be this cold towards her mate and I'm worried that she will never be able to move on from this incident.
Turns out she's much colder than me but I understand why she did it. They almost killed her when they reject her.
After checking Michelle, Claude and Caesar ask the pack doctor to take Michelle to her room for treatment.
Then they look at my direction and announce me as the winner.
"So what's going to happened now?" Sierra ask me.
"We'll find out soon enough."
"This challenge isn't a competition for the Luna position." Claude clarified as he feel his pack members start to grow eager and anxious.
Because I haven't accepted their rejection I could slight sense what they feel. Both their wolf and human counterpart is flustered and on edge.
Their wolves are angry that his members are disrespectful and the human counterpart are flustered because they never thought I would win this fight.
They have been underestimating me from the bet and now they have to face the consequences.
The twins walk closer towards me and whisper so only the three of us could hear our conversation.
"I'm sorry Amelia. Even if you beat Michelle in this challenge, you still can't be our Luna." Caesar spoke.
"We still need someone of her status as the white wolf to be our Luna."
Because of our mate bond, hearing their voices still sending chills to my body. Whenever we're close I could feel my mood brighten up.
But sadly it's only one sided. Even if they feel that way towards me, they wouldn't acknowledge it and they will choose to cherish others and not the bond between us.
I know my worth so I refuse to be placed in a situation where I have to fight for our happiness alone.
Now it's Claude turn to speak.
"But our offer still stands."
After hearing those words, lots of emotion stirring inside of me. But anger is the most visible from it all.
"You need to put them on their place." Sierra said.
I look up and stare them straight in their eyes.
"Don't get ahead of yourself." I speak loudly for everyone to hear.
"I'm challenging Michelle not for her Luna position. But I'm here to defend my honour."
"The three of you look down on others too much."
"Someone need to teach you all a lesson."
I could sense some of their pack members are on edge and ready to jump if there's a sign I would attack their alpha.

"Even if you give me the Luna title I would reject it in a heartbeat. Let alone a mistress."
I start to walk away. But I remember what I need to do, so I turn my back and take one last look of them.
"And one more thing. I Edith accept both of your rejection, I will no longer be your mate and future Luna."
I feel whatever left from our bonds are finally breaking as I walk away. This damn mate bond made my heart ache.
Accepting this rejection will do both of us good. It will be hard for a couple of years but we will eventually be able to move on and focus on each of our goals.
Ironically both of us have the same goals but we choose different path to achieve it. They need to get stronger for the pack. Hence, they need a strong Luna.
I need to get stronger so I could protect the kingdom. Having a mate would certainly lift a little burden from my shoulder.
But after this rejection, I'll need to shoulder this alone. I decide taking a breather and my feet bring me towards the forest.
"Thank you Sierra for helping me during our previous match. We would probably lose if it's weren't for your help."
"Well, I'm only helping you to return the favour on the night when they reject us."
"Do you remember when I was on the ground and Michelle was punching me?"
"Yeah I remember what about it"
"Not only my fighting spirit is back but there was some kind of power suddenly surging in from within me. Is it from you?"
"No it's not. But I can feel it too, is it adrenaline?"
"Could be." I answer not giving much thought about it.
Our conversation was suddenly stop because someone is trying to mind link me.
"Princess? Can we talk for a moment?" I hear Grace voice from our mind-link.
"Sure Grace, what is it about?"
"It's about his majesty order."
"What about it?"
"Can I meet you in person? It's quite important."
"Sure thing! Where are you right now?"
"I'm currently in my room princess."
"Stay put, I'll head to your room right away."
I cut my mind link with Grace and made my way upstairs towards Grace's room.
When I reach the second floor, I hear several footsteps running towards me.
"E-excuse me, but are you really our Alpha's true mate?"
I turn my back and see around five people consist of 3 males and 2 females questioning me. I can sense that they're nervous.
"Not anymore."
"Can we have a little bit of your time Luna? There's something we would like to talk about."
"Please don't call me that, I'm not your Luna. Just call me Amelia."
They lead me to a secluded part of the pack, there's a small house with some simple furnitures in it.
"This is my house please take a seat Luna."
I'm about to correct her but she open her mouth before I could.
"I'm sorry Luna, I know you told us not to call you that but it feels wrong for us to call you by name."
I just nod my head agreeing with them. I'm too tired to argue. After exhausting myself in the fight and accepting that rejection really drain me.
After taking my seat, they give me water to drink.
"I'm sorry but I need to mind link one of my pack member first."
They all nod and I mind link Grace about our appointment, saying that I'll be late for our meeting. Telling her about my encounter with the groups.
She respond and ask me to mind link her when I'm done with my business. As soon as I finish my mind link, one of the male wolf start to speak.
"I'm sorry for suddenly asking you Luna but the five of us would like to go back with you and move to your pack."
"Even if you're not a Luna in your pack, we will still follow you and protect you with our life."
"We will be willing to form a blood pack with you in case you're afraid of us betraying you."
Each one of them start to speak.
"I'm sorry but I can't do that."
I just realize the mistake that I've done. By openly admitting that I'm their alpha's mate, things would be chaotic for the pack members.
Some will stay and support their current alphas and luna while some will want to follow me as their true luna.
"Shit Sierra! I need to fix this problems as soon as possible."
"What's that got to do with us? It's not our pack and problem." What Sierra said is true but this pack is still a member of our kingdom.
"Sierra! We can't let our personal problems drag the whole pack down! We've teach those bastards a lesson but we certainly can't let their pack face the consequences too."
Sierra stay silent afterwards, knowing that I'm right. I need to fix this before it gets out of hand.
I continue my conversation with the groups.
"Please Luna, you have to help us and let us go with you."
"James!" One of the female protest.
"What's with letting you move to my pack got to do with helping all of you?" I ask.
