《The Reject (On Hold)》Chapter 6

"The hell? Is this a joke? What kind of messed up shit is this?"
Instead of jumping into conclusion, I will just ask Riley when he is free. I quietly turn around but I didn't pay attention to my surrounding as i was still in a trance.
I accidentally hit my head into a wood pillar, making a loud "BANG" noise and I fall to the ground.
All heads turn towards me as I lay there with a dumbfounded look. I quickly get up and regain my composure. Walking straight to the crowds of people staring at me.
"Let's take this to my meeting room," I took notice of Alpha Lucas and we immediately walk to his office.
Nobody said a word as we walk. Another person that have a feature similar to Riley walk at the back. The tension is thick enough to cut a steel clean.
Everyone sit at their respected place and Alpha Lucas is the first one to speak. He mention that all of this is related to my dad's order.
The girl who claim to be princess is actually the daughter of my mom's right hand maiden. Her name is Grace. She was asked to be my duplicate and they have a witch to cast a spell on her so she have my aura and it is the same for Riley's body double.
Since they are not sure if that rogue is scouting me, my dad staged out a plan. Mine and Riley's body double will head back to the next pack with other guards while me and Riley will catch up a day later.
They have given me a potion which needed to be drink every 12 hours in order to suppress my aura. I was ordered not to shift as it would blow up my cover.
My newly disguise name will be Amelia and I am the princess's right hand maiden. I will be late to arrive because I still have some matter that needed to be finished in the previous pack.
"It is a perfect cover up story." I hear Sierra in my head.
My dad also asked Phantom Light's members to keep quiet about this incident. If that rogue still appear than it was no mere coincidence.
Grace handed me my sword that was specially customised by our royal blacksmith and a witch. I took it from her and sheeted it from its leather case.
It was made from silver for the exception its handle. Its black handle was made from a cast metal furnishing. The witch crave some protective runes on it once it was finished.

Grace and Riley's body double will depart tomorrow alongside 4 guards that depart with us in our earlier journey.
After we confirm the motive of that rogue, we are ordered to go back home and report. There are still a few packs that I have yet to visit.
A representative from our royal family will announce that I got sick. Hence I will be unable to continue my visit.
Our meeting is dismissed and I immediately went to meet Grace. I have met her several times in the palace and sometimes we would study together.
She have an ombre short hair which have been transform into a long wavy red coloured hair. Both me and her have the same height.
She is quite shy around stranger but she have a personality befitting a princess. She is kind-hearted, soft, calm and level-headed.
I introduce her to Krystal. Due to her shy personality she doesn't talk much. But with Krystal way of approach, she become more comfortable and the tree of us ended up getting along well.
The next day, members from Phantom Light including their high-ranking official gather in front of the porch to send Grace off.
They try to make it as rowdy as ever so it would attract the intention to anyone's watching. Both me and Riley on the other hand, stay inside our rooms to hide.
A few hours have passed since their departure, which means it's safe for me to leave my room.
I head straight to the pack's training room carrying my sword with me.
I swing my swords forward a thousand times in order to strengthen my slash. Finishing my set, I find a nearby dummy and hitting it using the method that our Royal sword trainer told me.
Nearing into an hour of training, I start to feel my biceps, triceps and shoulder begin to ache. I force myself to train even harder and ended my training half an hour later.
Sweats cover my whole body and I take a shower before finally enjoying my lunch. I spend as much time as I can with the whole pack members knowing today is going to be my last day of visiting.
At night I let Sierra out for a run as she have been complaining about me not letting her out. Since the rogue could still be around, I make sure that I stay far away from the border.
I woke up the next day feeling all tense but ready to go. Riley just confirm that Grace's party have arrived safely and they saw no rogue.

Various scenario running in my head, either they did not take the bait or they take the bait but become more careful not to be seen.
Nevertheless, I prepared myself if anything were to get worst. I put on my black carbon-fiber suits and my combat gloves. I strap my sword on my side and put on my jacket and combat boots.
I meet Riley on the lobby. As we try to keep a low-profile, no one is here to send us off. Krystal and the others have send me their goodbye last night, wishing me well.
I drink my potion and I got to the left side of my black 2020 SSC Tuatara. I'm driving while Riley's job is to be on a lookout.
I turn on my car and it start to roar into life, I feel my heartbeat pound even louder as the machine also roaring louder.
"Where are we heading?" Re-strapping my gloves while checking if we have bring everything that we needed.
"Shadow Ridge pack."
Sensing tension in the air, I decide not to continue our conversation. Riley have set our GPS and we're ready to go.
Halfway on the road, we enter a highway and for the first time since I got this car, I am able to test its limit. It just took my breath away as I'm getting faster and faster.
It took my mind off a while from this rogue problem. Nothing matters anymore as I drive coursing through the road.
Within 4 hours we have arrive safely. We park our car in a garage and I strap my sword in my back. A wolf decide to greet us and deliver us to our room.
Along our way, he inform us to join others for dinner and we are allowed to venture within the pack's territory.
I enter my room and take a breather. Along the way, we saw nothing suspicious. But my intuition telling me something is wrong. Shadows waiting in the dark waiting for a perfect opportunity to come out.
I realise there's no use thinking about it now, all we could do is to prepare while we are safe.
Deciding to move on to the next problem in hand, which is tonight's dinner. I need to prepare myself and play my part as the princess's servant.
Recalling my memories, the alpha of this pack is a twin. If Dawn Mountain pack is known to have lots of strong warriors, Shadow Ridge pack is known for its alpha.
The Clawford twin. They're obsessed with increasing their influence and power throughout the country to match Dawn Mountain's pack.
As far as I know, Clawford twin is ferocious, tyrannical, bloodthirsty, etc. They have manage to expand their territory a couple of miles in a year, whether it's by challenging other alpha or exterminating rogues in that area.
I finish recalling my memory so I decide to look for Grace and I mind-link her.
"Hi Grace, how have you been?"
"Greeting princess, I'v been doing well and everyone in this pack treat me well."
"That's good to hear. Do you mind meeting me outside?"
"Would you like to meet at the edge of the forest?"
"That's a great idea Grace, meet you in 5?"
"See you in 5." I cut through my mind-link.
I take my sword and strap it behind my back. For the rest of my journey, I will keep my sword close to me.
I exit my room and walk straight to our meeting place. Ever since we arrive, Sierra have display quite a weird behaviour as if she is nervous.
She chase her own tail, mumbling to herself, walking back and front, etc. I just decide to ignore it. Maybe she was just stressed out and a run tonight would calm her down.
I make sure no one is around. When things are safe I inform Grace through mind-link.
I saw Grace walking towards me and I hug her. Then she proceed to tell me what have been happening within the pack.
Everything is normal and she just need to introduce herself the moment she arrive and that's about it. She also inform me about tonight's dinner.
Walking back to my room, I decide to take a nap. Since tonight is just a regular dinner, I wear something casual and make sure to not attract any attention.
I wake up, take a shower and put on my clothing. Deciding not to be rude, I left my sword in my room and tie my hair up into a ponytail.
I exit my room to meet Grace beforehand. I see her standing in front of the dining room, waiting for me.
"Everyone have arrive and they're just waiting for us." She inform me.
"I'm ready now, let's go inside."
I open the door for her and I'm hit with this delicious smell of brown sugar and cinnamon. I look up and saw 2 curious pair of eyes looking towards me.

Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before.
