husky voice whispered in my ear and I jumped, dropping the carton of milk on the table but it was closed, so nothing spilt.
It was early morning and it was Halloween today. My dress was hanging in my closet and the mere thought of wearing it in front of Auden made tingles shoot up my spine. Last night, both of us had talked over Pizza. He told me about his day with Theo and I told him about mine.
He mentioned that he was going to be at the party too. He also pointed out that he purchased a costume. I wondered what it would be.
"We are running low on food," I said and I heard him shuffling behind me. I turned to see him look at me with amused eyes. "What are you looking at? Go buy some food. Unless, you want to eat pasta dipped in pineapple juice."
"I feel like we are married," Auden said, his eyes brightening up immensely and my eyes widened. "You, asking your husband to go to the grocery store and buy food." My eyes widened at his sentence and my face felt heated all of a sudden. I wanted to shift the topic immediately.
"But I am married to Auden Milson remember?" I said and now he was beaming, vastly amused at the situation.
What is wrong with him?
"Yeah. You are." Auden mumbled and I sulked at the tone he used. He appeared extremely happy and looked like he knew something I didn't.
"Want to go grocery shopping?" He asked and I pursed my lips, narrowing my eyes at his still excited face.
"I... " I paused, trying to think of an excuse. But, then I realised. Why I am even thinking of an excuse when he is not going to take a 'no' as an answer? "Alright."

"Come on." He held onto my hand. Sparkles shot up my hand immediately at the touch but I didn't let go. I loved the feeling it gave me. I looked at our intertwined hands and couldn't help but smile at them. Suddenly, Auden lifted our intertwined hands high until the top of my hand met his lips. He placed a soft kiss on it, never breaking eye contact with me and I almost shuddered at the intensity.
"My heart stops for a split second when you look at me like that." He whispered, inching closer and I creased my eyebrows in confusion. My heartbeat was like a drum against my rib cage.
"Like what?" I whispered, too trapped in his ocean blue eyes.
"Like you are looking at me for the very first time." He said, stroking his thumb along my cheek and leaning forward, placing a tender kiss on my forehead. It was delicate like the smoothest of silk and I wanted to rest on them and sleep. His stubble brushed my nose and my heartbeat boosted at how sexy it was. "You make me so happy Kitkat." He whispered against my forehead.
My heart skipped a beat like a scratched CD.
It was still a mystery to me— how he likes me and has a great attraction for me. Why me? Why now? And why do I reciprocate those feelings too?
Auden moved away, before turning around and grabbing his car keys. He pulled me towards him in a swift move and both of us were out of the house in no time. It was a short ride to the local grocery store. Auden was wearing dark shades and he was pulling off the look too well it almost made me drool.
Since it was early morning, the store was not crowded much. There were still a few people scattered here and there though. We walked inside the store, looking for things to buy.

"Oh, look." Auden chirped and I whisked my head around, clasping onto the trolley.
"KitKats!" Auden held a whole package and my eyes widened in happiness.
"Can we buy those?" I asked, pleading Auden. It's his money we are using to buy all the stuff. I don't have any money left after yesterday. I spent them all with Shira. I only brought a handful with me when I fled the wedding.
"Nah." Auden placed them back and started walking ahead of me. I withered and Auden swivelled around, giving me a cheeky smile and I could see his amusement through the shades. I remained tight-lipped, propelling the trolley and eyed the pack of KitKats with sorrow.
I felt like it was calling me to pick it up.
"Maybe I will buy it..." Auden hung back and I immediately perked up, stopping the trolley and looking at him with hope. He had a mischievous glimmer in his eyes. "If I get a kiss."
My shoulders dropped in defeat.
His smile got wider.
I quickly turned away, feeling my cheeks turn hot and nudged the trolley forward.
"Don't you crave the KitKats? They are calling your name." Auden cooed behind me.
They are?
I whirled behind, looking at the KitKats and then looked at him, showing me his kissable cheek. I grunted, leaning forward and gave his cheek a soft peck and pulled away at lightning speed. I hid my face behind the cascade of hair to prevent him from seeing my blush. I could hear his amusement. I took the package of KitKats in my hands and placed them in the trolley. My heartbeat was sky-rocketing and I was waiting for Auden to say something cheeky.
Why isn't he saying anything?
I spun to look at him. He was staring at me with a delighted smile. "I was waiting for you to look at me." He spoke out softly and my heart skipped a beat. He inched forward, looking around for anybody and the whole aisle was empty. He circled his hand around my hips and pulled me closer, making sure that I am looking at him.
"Don't be shy with me. Show me how I make you feel." He whispered into my ear, leaving my skin tingling and my heart beating rapidly before he moved away.
