me ice cream after comforting her. I had asked for one more, for Auden.
Stepping inside the house, I looked around, hoping to see him and he was there. He was standing in front of a glass shelf, looking at a photo.
"Hey," I said.
He turned around at the sound of my voice. His blue eyes brightened up immediately and once again, I felt myself drooling at the sight of him. He was devilishly attractive.
"Hey Kitkat." He acknowledged and eyed the ice cream. I smiled at the nickname and shrugged it off.
"I got you one too," I said, handing the ice cream cone to him. I bought a vanilla flavoured one.
"Vanilla is my favourite you know." He answered back, smiling softly.
"You look sad," I said and his eyebrows raised, pursing his lips. He turned around, pointing at a photo of him holding a basketball and a group of boys were huddled together. There was a man, with a whistle around his neck, looking more than forty years old, posing together with the boys.
"Just received news that my coach died last week. Somehow, I had missed the news. The funeral is today." He said and I gasped, placing my hand on his shoulder in a comforting gesture.
"I have to go to the funeral. I'm sorry." He said. I understood what that meant. No Winston for me today.
"No. Don't say sorry for that," I said and he smiled, pursing his lips. "It's okay. When are you leaving?"
He narrowed his eyes at me. Tingles shot up my body at his gaze and he leaned forward, making my breath hitch. "Come with me."
"What?" I asked, feeling the ice cream melt and touch my hand. "What am I going to do there?"

"You can just stay beside me. Pretend to be my girlfriend." He winked and I groaned, trying to hide the blush on my cheeks. He noticed it and smirked.
"In your dreams Mr Auden."
"Ooh." He said. "Kinky. What's your favourite sex position?"
My eyes widened a fraction before I composed myself. "It's called 'the moon'. You get 273,000 miles away from me."
His smirk widened, taking joy in the fact that I just rejected him. He breathed out a sigh, looking very amused. "Where have you been all my life?"
"Urgh." I rolled my eyes, dismissing the butterflies in my tummy as I shuffled away from him.
"You know you want me. I can see it in your eyes Kitkat." He shouted behind me.
"No. I don't want you." I sang, replying playfully.
"We have chemistry you know."
"Chemistry?" I asked, halting on my way to the bedroom, as I turned around to look at him.
"Yes. Chemistry." He explained. "My atoms love your atoms. It's chemistry."
I laughed but I couldn't get rid of the word he used.
Love.
Brushing my thoughts away, I calmed my speeding heart and ran into the bedroom.
After an hour of getting ready, I checked myself in front of the mirror, making sure that I looked a little good. Auden had asked me to pick a dress from the closet and I picked a black dress. A simple one, with lace patterns near the collar. I tied my blonde hair up to a messy fishtail. It was supposed to be neat, but whatever.
Fortunately for me, there was a make-up set, so I used them and applied dark red lipstick on my lips. Feeling satisfied, I walked out of the room and Auden was slanting against the wall, waiting for me.

He looked up, his eyes landing on me and they slowly ran down my body. My neck, my chest, my hips, my thighs, my knees, my ankles before coming back up slowly again. My body felt hot at his burning gaze. His waves of blue had darkened immensely and desire glinted in them. I shivered involuntarily as he closed the distance between us.
"You are so beautiful, it hurts." He said, his voice low and husky, leaning down further and his eyes went down to my lips. I licked them, feeling scared at how my body was reacting to him. He took that as a cue to lean in further. My breath hitched and the atmosphere burned. It was too hot.
"The funeral," I said weakly and he backed away. His eyes were still dark and he looked like he was resisting himself.
"You won't escape next time." He said before backing away entirely and I released out a sigh. He held my wrist, holding me beside him as both of us walked out of the house. Tingles shot up my body from the place he caressed.
We were soon in front of his sleek black car and he opened the car door for me as I slipped inside. We were soon on our way to the church. It was a short drive, with comfortable silence. Soon, we were getting out of the car, walking through the crowd. Stares were thrown us away and I fidgeted, getting a little nervous when I felt a hand circling my stomach, pulling me close to a muscular body. Somehow, it seemed to calm me down.
My eyes widened when abruptly a blonde girl, slim and tall, stopped in front of us. She was pretty. Her blonde hair was straight reaching her chest. Her face was caked up with make-up.
"Auden!" The girl squeaked. "It's been so long!"
I almost covered my ears at her bothersome voice. She tugged on Auden's hand and for some reason, it antagonized me.
"Hey." Auden smiled back, politely.
"Come on. You have to meet the others." She shrieked again and pulled on Auden's arm.
"This is..." He paused, and I mouthed "Katherine." Auden introduced me, completely ignoring her plea. "Katherine, this is Vanessa."
Her eyes turned to me. They held disgust but there was a sickly sweet smile on her face. "Hi, Katherine."
Bitch alert.
