or the rusted wood

of a lonely swing?

is it the fleeting sight

of the northern lights

or the soft twinkling

of a million fireflies?

the whiff of smoke

from a steam engine

or do your eyes see eyes

corralling pretty lies?

what do you see

with lightly closed eyes

in the middle of the night

that's about to set you free?
