oh thats not gonna slide, instead of coming up for air i swim further down and grab dahlias ankle yanking her underwater. we were just able to stand here in the water so i stood on the tips of my toes taking a breather waiting for dahlias head to come back up instead however i feel a body collide with mine and im under water again.

we both come up with a smile 'dork' she smiles. dahlia moved the board back up infront of us 'ready y/n/n' she says with a smirk extending her hand. she pulls me up onto the board lifting me easily.

'dahlia ive never even surfed' i tell her as she puts the ankle strap on.

'you'll survive, you've skated right' she laughs

'yeah...years ago. i never said i was good' i tell her caught in her eyes.

'you'll be right mate. and y/n/n try not to fall off, i dont have a camera' she than proceeded to give me the rest of the instructions on what to do. it seems easy enough ish not really. i lay flat on the board as dahlia guides me to a good spot in the water waiting for the right wave.

'okay this one' she smirks lining it up.

'i dont think this is a good idea' i try to say but its hard to be serious with the smile on my face.

'nah your good' she laughs as the wave comes closer. i sigh and begin to paddle. i feel myself begin to get pushed by the wave so i attempt to jump up on the board. oh this is uh yeah this is happening. it feels like one of the stunts i did for the movie. i begin to slow down so i jump off the board. i turn around with a smile and dahlia was smiling at me. i swim back over and she smirks giving me a high five.

'that was great' she nods

'beginners luck' i counter wiping hair from my face

'wanna go again' she asks

'its your board you can go if you want' i offer. she just smiles and lines me up again.

we alternate going a couple more times. and i cant help but stare in awe as dahlia surfs it was the smoothest thing. she does tricks here and there they look so effortless. i go again until she gets an idea

'you sure this is gonna work?' i ask her looking behind me to see her and the massive wave coming up

'shush it'll work' she says as we paddle

the wave comes and we jump up. we were standing for about a total off 3 seconds before falling into the cold water once again. when our heads emerge again dahlia looks over at the electronic board thingy next to the lifeguard tower. it has they time, tides, temp and other things.

'come on we got time for another run. she says pulling me through the water again. i laugh and splash water in her face. she looks offended for a second before splashing me as well.

thats it we've gotten up, but now we gotta stay up. the board begins to stumble she grabs my waist steading both her and myself. dahlia begins to lean one way taking me by surprise, but we manage and begin extending the ride. this feels so cool. just gliding across the water. that is until we come to a stop by the sand.

'so cool' i state, and she smiles and nods.
