y/n pov
i walk back through the halls to get to my class and everyones eyes were on me. or well it felt like it. sitting down in the back of class people turn around and stare at me. great. i take a deep breath but regret it when my chest tightens because of the bruising from last night. it all still hurt i dont know how i was gonna do stunts today. the teacher walks in and begins teaching us about rocks. woo hoo.... i dont need to know about sedimentary rocks or igneous or metamorphic. i lean back in my chair and just think zoning out. suddenly there is a note passed onto my desk. i turn to look at who gave it expecting them to tell me to pass it to someone else but they point at me, shrugging and pointing to the jocks in the corner. sighing i unfold it
i internaly gag and tick no screwing it up in a ball and throwing it back to him. he looks all cocky and brings his mates over to look at the result thinking it was gonna be yes 1000 times yess with hearts and a cherry on top. him and his goons are smirking as jackson opens the paper ball.
when their dumb minds read the paper, jackson looks furious some of his friends are laughing at him , he looks over to me with an angry expression. i just smirk and wave before returning my expression to bored and looking away.
out of the corner of my eye i can see him scribbling something on the note before it lands on my desk again
^
i write back and throw it at him. receiving the note a couple seconds later
^
great looks like you have other options stop bothering me jackson

i smile at his reaction and fold up the paper putting it in my bag. i was gonna frame that when i get to set. suddenly a new girl walked in with the principle. id have to admit she was quite pretty, she saw me looking at her and gave a small smile, i smiled back. then looked over to the teacher who had started talking again.
'thats where you are class this is our new student Dahlia' the teacher says with the fakest smile that most teachers put on in front of the printable. dahlia thats a nice name. the princable leaves and the teacher asks her to introduce herself
'uh hey, im dahlia my family moved from Australia like a week ago, the no uniforms things great' she says with a deep voice and everyone could tell she was Australian from the accent. she had dark wavy hair, a deep tan and dark freckles, her light blue eyes stood out.
'what do you like to do in your spare time' cindy a popular girl asked
'uh i grew up next to the beach on the sunshine coast, so surf every day after school, out in the water all weekend-' so thats why she was so fit and tan 'when i couldnt surf i enjoyed reading, and painting' dahlia says smiling thinking off her time back home
'okay class 2 more questions' the teacher says waking up her laptop again
'why did your family move' jasper asked from his spot off to the side
'uh my parents job, they are marine biologists' she explains. i look around the room briefly and see jackson and his friends drooling. god.
'do you have a pet kangaroo?' some kid asked and now i was amused i looked over at dahlia to see her almost laughing. one of the persons friends hit them with their pencil case, and this makes her giggle a bit.

'oh uh no, they are a bit feisty' she laughs
'i bet i could take one on' jackson says getting up and putting one leg on the chair while flexing his muscles, or lack there off. dahlia raises her eyebrows and makes a straight line with her lips,
'okay thats enough, go take a seat wherever' the teacher dismisses. there was a couple free seats around the room. 1 near jackson, another next to me, a couple towards the front and thats it. i was kinda hoping she would sit next to me. she seems cool and i need new friends.
as i hoped she smiled at me and walked down the isle to the seat next to me. 'can i sit here' she asks politely i smile and nod
'hi im y/n' i smile at her
'dahlia, but you probably herd' we both laugh and the teacher continues the lesson. about 10 minutes later we were told to get into pairs jacksons group was odd and to everyones luck he was the odd one out. i was about to ask if she wanted to be partners when jackson walked over.
'hey beautiful, why dont you ah come be my partner we could y'know, do the worksheet' he winks. dahlia looks over to me trying not to laugh.
'yeah nah dude' she laughs 'bye' she finishes he looks disgusted and walks away. laughing she asks 'is he always like that'
'unfortunately, wanna be partners?' i question casually.
'i thought you'd never ask' she smirks thanking the teacher as she handed out the paper, which i thought was strange
'do you always thank people?' i ask
'yeah dont americans?' she asks tilting her head looking at me
'some but not many of them no' i say
'interesting, so like you dont thank your bus driver either?' she asks. i slowly shake my head and she nods 'wow American schools are more different than i thought' she adds,
for the rest of the lesson we were talking and laughing while filling in the sheet. she was really smart
'where did you learn all this' i ask as she gets another answer
'we learnt this in grade 8' she says 'when we were like 13' she tells me
'oh thats cool, what was your school like' i ask
'uh, we had mostly shit uniforms, the teachers shouldnt have jobs, the year 7's act like they own the school' she laughs
'do you miss it?' i ask her
'yeah, its definitely different' she says
talking for the rest of the lesson id say we were friends. the bell goes and everyone rushes out of the class we pack up our stuff.
'hey y/n, could i sit with you at break?' she asks putting her dufflebag strap on her shoulder
'yeah of course' i say as we walk out of the class room
'your friends wont mind?' she asks cautiously
'nah, they dont go to this school' i tell her and she nods
'so whats your next class' i ask her.
'uh i dont know its some code' she says handing over her print out of her timetable.
'oh thats drama, your in the same class as me the teacher is great' i tell her with a smile
'sweet,' she nods and i help her make sense of the rest of the timetable, giving my opinions on the teachers.
