《Pandora's Gift》Chapter 1

High school had been rough. It was hard enough working hard to get through the best of the best hero course in the area at UA. Throw in the joys of a teen body and hormones that came with a second gender and life at times was horrible. Especially if a person was an omega. Such was life as a teen for Sakaki Shinzuko. Her name seemed befitting as the woman had always been a quiet soft spoken child. When she found out she was an omega it was rough, but it only drove her determination up as she was curtain she would make it into the UA hero course and become an omega hero with no need of an alpha partner. It was a bit rough at first, she had to train harder than everyone else.

But if she said she regretted it she would be lying. She made amazing friends during her years at school, had nice rivals who were also clearly aiming for that number one spot in the future. But it kept school exciting and life was never boring while going through high school. Even though the suppressants she was one during the years took a toll on her body she didn't care she did all she could to suppress her secondary gender. Few among her classmates knew that their classmate was an omega and that's how she liked it. Especially with alpha's like Bakugou Katsuki, he was hard enough dealing with on a daily basis before he would have thrown his superior gender into her face. But aside from the angry Pomeranian the rest of her class had been great.

Sakaki had actually stayed in slight contact with a few of her classmates after they finished school. She had worked with Midoriya and Uraraka once or twice after the two had moved over to work in All Mights old agency. Yaoyorozu had followed Todoroki over to Endever's old agency as he was taking it over. She had heard the stories of Bakugou and Karishima having started their own agency. Which still surprised Sakaki. She always saw their friendship as a commensalism symbiotic relationship. She really couldn't see what Kirishima got out of the deal. Bakugou on the other hand had someone who kept him grounded and from just blowing everything and every one to pieces. Kirishima was the friendly face that smiled and waved at people. Bakugou tended to scare people off, it almost reminded her of Endeavor in that aspect neither pro hero's were good with people. Denki had worked with them but she heard rumours he left to go team up with Shinsou but she wasn't sure if that was true or not.

So imagine the young woman's surprise when she walks into her bosses office one morning to retrieve her latest mission to learn she was about to team up with some old classmates. Miruko had looked so pleased when she informed her young up and coming top employee of the news expecting the girl would have been happy to hear she was working with old classmates. Yeah the ear twitch from the bunny woman gave away her disappointment when Sakaki had remained as stoic as always. She remembers the older woman pouting telling her she was no fun. There was a reason the young woman had picked Miruko to work under and it wasn't just because the female alpha was understanding but because she didn't want to work with any of her old classmates.

She had known she couldn't stay on the suppressants her entire life and she had no desire for her old classmates to know her secret even with Yaoyorozu and Uraraka being the only two people she had ever openly told. Though she had a feeling by now Midoriya since Uraraka told her boyfriend everything. But the man never said or treated her differently and she thanked him for that. But still she worked hard to get into an agency away from her old friends, somewhere she could more freely be herself. So of course when the mission was handed to her she tried to decline. But apparently Miruko was having none of it, a desk even ended up flipped over in the heated discussion before Sakaki was dragging her feet out of the office with the case file in hand.

So here she stood staring up at a rather large building, it was bigger than she anticipated for such a new agency. She expected something smaller and more simple but this place very much resembled Miruko's agency. Taking a shaky breath the dark haired woman walked up to the front doors of the agency pushing them open before walking towards the front desk. Her heavy combat boots barely made a sound as she walked up. Her dark hair was pulled back into a long tail. She wore the black skin tight spandex suit that had no sleeves and was low cut in the back and the front. The legs went all the way down to her ankles clinging to every inch of her body. She was in her hero uniform, after all this was business related and she really had to hope that neither alpha would recognize her. The mask she often wore around her face hung down around her neck though she really contemplated putting it on before meeting either men.

The receptionist didn't even seem to notice the newcomer among the empty lobby till Sakaki cleared her through which had the poor middle age woman behind the desk jump and turn wide eyes towards her.

"I'm here to speak with Red Riot and Dynamite," she said, simply getting right to the point.

"Do you have an appointment?" Of course she should have expected the question but she still blinked her eyes softly at the receptionist.

"God damn it Miruko!" She hissed under her breath expecting the woman had not called ahead and booked an appointment and just told Sakaki to show up at this time and hoped for the best. But it seemed at the mention of her boss the receptionist came alive apparently now expecting her.

"Oh Miruko sent you! That's perfect please follow me," the woman said, jumping to her feet and taking off at a brisk walk. Her heels clicking along the tiled floor of the lobby filled the air as she quickly followed the woman as she had been instructed to.

"Red Riot is out on patrol at the moment, but Dynamite should be in training room 1," the woman was quick to inform her of where and what both men were doing. It didn't really surprise her to learn that Kirishima was out on patrol and Bakugou was left behind. Actually the thought almost made her snicker thinking that the agency probably had to limit the angry pomeranian's people time so he didn't get into trouble. Nothing like having to keep your angry little dog on a tight leash. She almost felt sorry for Kirishima.

The receptionist didn't even knock as she just walked right into the training room. It was rather large with a lot of open space in the middle. Some weights, boxing equipment and other workout equipment lined the walls. The sound of a punching bag being slapped around was the only noise that filled her ears. Though it was the heavy musky smell in the air that made her light headed. It almost reminded her of the smell one would have clinging to them after enjoying a night around a campfire cooking marshmallows. Smokey, woody, with even a hint of sugar seemed to sweeten the scent ever so slightly. But this wasn't some faint scent, it was overpoweringly strong. She nearly reached her mask wanting to protect her nose from the invading smell. It made her head spin and her mouth water. She remembered the scent from high school but it seemed to only have grown more potent in the nearly 8 years since she saw the classmate last.

She hadn't even noticed the receptionist walk away from her and start to call out to Bakugou till the noise of the punching bag taking a beating stopped. Sakaki forced her body to move and catch up to the woman as they approached the blonde. To say she was surprised to see him was an understatement. She almost barely recognized her old classmate. He had really grown up, though that bright blonde hair and those crimson red eyes were still the same. He had grown taller, she hated how he had been taller than her before but now he towered over her having to easily be well over 185cm tall. It almost made her feel short, still being the same 170cm she had been in middle school. He was not as thin as he used to be in high school, his shoulders had grown broad though his waist was still a bit tiny but it created a rather nice form for him.

And that scowl was the exact same as when he was in high school. Seemed the explosive boy was still a scowling, unhappy, yelling person. Still the angry little pomeranian she remembered. Though with the glare he shot at her she almost wished Kirishima was there to keep the man on his leash.

"What the hell do you want?" He barked, turning his attention and anger to the poor beta receptionist. But she seemed completely unfazed by the man's outburst of anger at her. She probably was well used to it having to work for the asshole.

"The hero Miruko sent has arrived," she said, though realized quickly she had never even asked your name.

"Pandora. It's nice to be working with you Dynamite," she said as those red eyes turned their attention to her and she watched his lips press together as it seemed his scowl only grew darker.

"I agreed to work with Miruko. Not some damn extra!" Bakugou roared, turning his anger once again to his poor secretary. Wow Sakaki wondered how many he went through in a given year treating them so poorly.

"I am sure Miss Pandora comes highly recommended if Miruko decided to send her. The files are on your desk containing the information that had been sent over earlier this morning," the older lady said before turning on her heels and just walking away. A little rude but honestly Sakaki couldn't blame her, being that way was probably the only way to deal with Bakugou.

And it seemed that was a normal interaction for the two as the blonde just scuffed. No more yelling or screaming, hell he didn't even cuss the woman out. Well that was an improvement from high school. But now that angry look in his eye was fully turned to her. Great, now she had to deal with an irritated alpha.

"Go back and tell Miruko I am not working with some halfwit extra. It's her or no one," he growled at her. His pheromones and anger sent a shiver down her back as she refused to step back. Thanks to training with Miruko she had gotten good at standing up for herself especially against alphas but it was still hard pushing that instinct to submit down. Especially now as the room filled with his scent. Her head spun and it was hard not to reach up for her mask. It's actual purpose was to help with these issues and help keep alpha pheromones from affecting her so badly. But she took slow breaths through her mouth to try and help as she stood tall before Bakugou.

"Listen! I am not happy about this any more than you are. But if I go back to Miruko without being able to tell her we are working together she's going to kick my ass," she hissed and Miruko threatened to cut her insurance back and not cover her scent blockers which Miruko didn't have to pay for but did through the agency. But she wasn't about to admit that to Bakugou. Her reply only seemed to aggravate the blonde as his top lip pulled back and he stomped towards her.

"I don't give a shit about you. Go back and get Miruko and bring her here!" He growled trying to intimidate her, she was sure.

"And I'm telling you. I am not going anywhere. You are stuck with me till this stupid mission is over," she refused to back down to the blonde. Her own top lip pulled back to growl back at him as she looked up at him. Fuck he towered over her as he nearly curled over top of her trying to force her to obey him and submit. And it was hard every fiber of her being wanting to lick her lips and flash her neck to him and submit. But she refused to allow some stupid instincts to control her body.

It seemed the duo was in a stalemate, neither one was willing to back down as they each stood tall. It wasn't till the sound of the door to the training room opened that both heads whipped over to take in the sight of Red Riot returning from patrol. Sakaki released the breath she had been holding that she didn't even notice she had been holding. Damn it she wanted to run over and through her arms around the tall red head.

"Bakugou you can't go around picking fights with other agency hero's. That's not very manly," Kirishima said as he walked in spotting the blonde man he called his best friend. Bakugou now turned his scowl and bad temper over to his friend who didn't even bat an eye. Sakaki had a feeling that the really nice receptionist called Kirishima as soon as she left the young woman alone with the angry blonde.

"Shut up shitty hair. You know I only agreed to the mission because of Miruko," Bakugou growled at his friend.

"Then take that up with Miruko. In the meantime I'm not going anywhere," Sakaki hissed before turning to Kirishima flashing him a warm and friendly smile. Or how she missed the large red head. He always had been a great guy. And she would never understand why the hell he put up with Bakugou at all.

"Please don't let him get to you. He was really looking forward to working with Miruko and her agency," Kirishima flashed her an apologetic smile. That only seemed to piss Bakugou off as he yelled at Kirishima to shut up.

"Don't worry about it," she said softly, trying to bite back the urge to admit she was well accustomed to Bakugou's outburst from high school.

"Kirishima Eijiro," Of course Kirishima had to go and be a gentleman and introduce himself with his actual name and not his hero name. Well fuck Sakaki had really hoped she could of avoided giving out her real name as she liked it better when neither man knew who she was.

"And that growly man is Bakugou Katsuki," Kirishima said, also introducing the angry pomeranian since both her and Kirishima knew the blonde wouldn't introduce himself willingly.

"Sakaki Shinzuko," she said, trying to sound as friendly and warm as she could even as she watched both men blink their eyes taking in the sight of the woman before them before it seemed they both realized why she looked so familiar. She had really wanted to stay quiet about her name. She liked it so much better when people from her past didn't know her. She worked hard to stay out of the spotlight and remain hiding on the down low.

"Sakaki... Shinzuko?" Kirishima rolled the name off his tongue slowly as if rolling the name in his memory since he knew it before his face just lit up like a kid at Christmas. Really wasn't hard for him to remember the girl from high school. After all she really had not changed much. She bulked up a little but still kept that lean figure she always had no matter how much she worked out. Her hair was longer now than when it was in school. And her costume had changed a good bit but other than that she was almost surprised that neither had recognized her. Okay Bakugou not recognizing her wasn't a surprise. The man saw everyone around him as extras and paid them no attention so of course he wouldn't remember the quiet girl who studied hard and really didn't make much of an impact throughout school.

She let out a surprised squeak as large hard arms had suddenly lifted her off the ground in a large bear hug, quite literally Sakaki was pretty sure this was the equivalent to hugging a stone bear. She was easily lifted up over a foot off the ground. The action surprised her as she didn't expect such an action. But then again maybe she should have. Kirishima had always been a warm soul who tried hard to be close with all his classmates. The complete opposite of Bakugou. How the two were such good friends she still never truly understood and felt she never would.

"Kirishima," she called out his name softly when he didn't instantly let her go and seemed to have buried his nose in her hair. She was starting to sweat. She had on pheromone blocker patches to hide her scent but still being this close made her nervous.

"Oh yeah sorry about that. It's been so long. So you're working over at Miruko's agency?" He asked as he gently placed the woman back down on her feet allowing her the chance to step back and crank her head up to give him a small smile.

"Yes, I started there shortly after graduating from UA. I've been there ever since," she admitted, not seeing any reason to hide it now.

"Well you must be pretty good if Miruko sent you over," She knew Kirishima was just being nice and complementing her. But still she wanted to correct him and say Miruko was just passing off a job she didn't have time for, too her. But she bit her tongue not wanting to say anything.

"Not at all. But now isn't really the time for catching up. I read the file on the way over. Seems rather cut and dry. Small time criminal loop dealing drugs and your basic illegal firearms. So why am I here?" She was quick and to the point. She wanted to get away from the two alpha's sooner rather than later. Especially since all she could feel was Bakugou's hard glare digging into the back of her head ever since she introduced herself. Though it was nice that the angry pomeranian had stopped barking for the moment.

"Yes well that's how it started out. But we have some new intel. We have learned that there is a new drug going around. Although the criminals we have been watching are not the creators, they have started to distribute it. Criminals are getting their hands on some pretty strong quirk enhancement drugs," Kirishima was quick to give Sakaki a simple run down before telling her he would get her more papers to read over. Seemed simple enough quirk effecting drugs where a pain to deal with. Was one thing when they only lasted a few minutes but apparently one that lasted an hour had been perfected, or was being well tested on people now and being distributed. That was a problem for hero's who had to engage criminals on the drugs.
