《R I D I N [zhong chenle] ✓》T W E N T Y - F O U R

It was late afternoon, Chenle's parents had already left his house. He was getting ready for his night journey and now is walking to his signature bike, hidden at a corner where it is nearly impossible to reach.
"Chenle", he knew that voice, it was far too familiar but at the same time a certain distant feeling was laced onto his accent. But he knew better than to turn around the sound of his real name, he's not Chenle now.
"...Devil Rider", and there he stopped. Almost teasingly, he turned around slowly putting the whole atmosphere on edge. His dark eyes pierced through the old man's soul.
"Professional with your job, I see", Mr. Zhong walked closer to the boy, his eyes never leaving his moving figure.
"Don't act like this, I know who you are son", Chenle looked away, not bothering to see the man.
"How did you know?", he questioned, with no reaction. Mr. Zhong just let a little shrug. "It's not hard to figure out when you know how corrupted of a man I am"
"But that's not the main point here", playing with the multiple rings that adorned his wrinkly fingers, Mr. Zhong gave a crooked smile. "Why are you doing this? Do you not have enough money? Not enough attention from your mother and I? Or do you want to tarnish our name that much?"
"I have enough money, I spend it properly unlike some. I've done this since I was a freshman, yet I've never got caught so keep your name. Lastly, your love is the last thing I want", words dripped with venom, cold tone cutting through the thick atmosphere. "I had never truly felt an ounce of love, especially from you"
"I see, but what would your mother think of knowing her beloved son is in the dark business?"

"What would your wife think, knowing his husband is a corrupted asshole!?", Chenle raised his voice, only louder by a bit for both to hear clearly. "And you're teaching my brother the same steps, mom is oblivious to what is happening. Don't you feel bad?"
"The most I ever did was killing the policemen that chased me, but you have done way worse though", it was silent. Even a cricket sounded louder, but it was soon broke by the sound of...laughing?
Full of menace, the old man's eyes showed a glint of murder. "You know a lot about me then. Which brings me to my exact point, why don't you work for me son? We can become the biggest business ever, and no one will dare to come against us. It's what we both want, isn't it?"
"That's what you want, so go for it. But don't include my name with your deals",with one last glare, Chenle got onto his bike and rode away.
He must've accelerated, because he ended up reaching the meeting spot in the blink of an eye. Head clouded with thoughts from the unexpected rendezvous, a sudden buzz from his pocket didn't go unnoticed. Taking out the phone, he glanced at the message he had gotten.
The message from who he wanted to met made him forget his thoughts for a moment, but it soon came back. Taking a deep breath, he opened his eyes and rode his bike again towards another familiar area.
Not too soon, Chenle had reached the cliff. The cliff that he brought Rosie to, when they were talking about his father. What a coincidence, that he's here again for the same reason.
He kept silent, tongue continuously wetting his lips. It wasn't long until he let out a aggravated scream, frustrated with everything.

His phone out of the pocket, he dialed a number and the line didn't take long to reach the other end. With that, he didn't dare stop to let out everything he wanted to say.
"I joined this side because it was boring and I wanted fun, I did almost harmless shit but you did worse. You've killed millions, I only wanted to steal a few bucks. Yes, I'm a criminal too"
"But don't put me on the same pedestal as you, I don't want to be associated with you so fuck off. I'm your son? Sure, but where were you? Where were you when I needed love the most? You can't expect mom to give everything, she has her limits and she's tired too"
"I know you're having this call on speaker, so mama", he called out his mom in the sweet nickname, feeling bitter at what he was gonna say. "I'm sorry I never became the son you wanted, I failed you badly. But, unfortunately I can't stop", hearing the sobs of his beloved mother, his heart broke. But he still stayed strong, in front of his father.
"I've said it once and I'll say it again, I work for no one. Have a good life without me, bye", hanging up, Chenle exhaled deeply through his nose as he looked at the city lights.
For the first time, he felt at ease.

What would an anime be like from the perspective of a background character? From birth, Reikawa Yuuya has had the ability to see the character arcs of the people around him, a skill passed down through his family. Gray's Crucible
“The value you have brought to trade is immense, more than a thousand fold what any other traveler to Crucible has ever produced. More than even I produced during my journey.” The old man paused for a moment here, seemingly reluctant to continue. After a few seconds he begins again with weariness creeping into his voice. “As the Messenger of Crucible I have received the value of your life. You shall be awarded a body with potential equaling the value you have brought to this place in accordance with the laws of the higher realms. Now you shall depart for Crucible, but first; I, Jaze, will give you some advice.” The old man, Jaze, he had named himself paused a time. Time enough that Gray began to wonder if he was still present, when he suddenly continued in a low and serious tone, “You will undoubtedly have great potential Gray of Earth, but it is still only potential. What could be is not necessarily what will be. If you step foolishly in my world, if you can not live up to the potential you have bartered for, Crucible will crush you mercilessly and tear away your very soul.” A thought, cheerful and light was heard from Gray before his presence was sent rocketing away like a shooting star. “I’m looking forward to it.”
