A day later, a taxi van was seen pulling up to the Thomas F. Regan Memorial Park and getting out of the vehicle was Abby, Shane, Lauren, Skye, Megan, Sylvia and the girls, who had blankets so they could sit on the grass.
"This is amazing." Paige stated, admiring the mountains and lake.
"You know it, Pagey." Chloe agreed.
"When you look at it, it's a work of art." Maddie added.
"Nature's amazing." Mackenzie commented.
"Yeah." Brookie said.
"Sis, this is so cool!" Lauren exclaimed to Skye.
"Yes it is." Skye replied.
"Sylvia, remember when you and mom used to bring us here on vacations?" Shane told Sylvia.
"I sure do." Sylvia responded.
"We had a lot of fun times here and we even rode the ferry." Megan stated.
"How was the ferry?" Brooke asked.
"It was awesome."
"Cool to know."
"We brought you here because we're tired of being stuck in a hotel ballroom for a competition, so we want you all to enjoy the view." Abby told everybody, then as the girls were all relaxing, Abby was talking to Shane.
"Shane, i can't believe it's gonna be your very last competition as a competitive dancer." Abby spoke.
"Man, where did the time go?" Shane wondered.
"I was asking myself that same question this morning."
"Mom, once Nationals is over, the girls are gonna have to carry that mantle. But they know it's gonna be tough." Shane said.
"Yeah. I remember those duets you and Megan used to do."
"Those were some great times."
"You know it." Abby agreed with her son, then they enjoyed the rest of the day and headed back to the hotel when the sun was setting.

They were back at the studio a day later and Melissa had gone on her vacation with Greg fo Florida and that meant that Maddie and Mackenzie were gonna be with Abby as Megan and Sylvia were outside with Skye and Lauren.
"Maddie, Chloe, Brookie, Nia, Mackenzie, you five can go through the group and we'll rehearse it later, Brooke, Paige, you two can go in the other studio room and work on your duet." Abby informed and a male guest choreographer that Abby called was going to be teaching Brooke and Paige their duet, known as Ooh La La while Abby, Shane and Gianna would work with Maddie on her solo, Shane had already did his solo rehearsals.
"Why are there two teachers and Shane in there that know what my kids could do?" Kelly wondered to herself, she was unhappy over Abby, Shane and Gianna not teaching her daughters and instead, they got a guest choreographer Abby called in. "They're working with Maddie and that's why she wins and my kids don't, they're gonna learn their dances in 15 minutes from a choreographer that doesn't know what leg to kick on."
"You want me to say something to her? I mean..." The choreographer asked.
"All i'm just saying, the globe has to see why Maddie wins."
In the main studio room, Abby and Shane rolled their eyes at hearing Kelly gripe yet again.
"I knew Kelly was gonna start something." Shane muttered. "She needs to let it go."
"You know it, if there was a mute button and it got put on her, i'd press it in a heartbeat." Abby agreed.
"What's worse, the debacle with the guest choreographer back in L.A. or this?" Shane asked.
"They're both as bad."

"With Kelly, it's a neverending tale."
"Yeah."
Shane went into the other studio room to have a word with Kelly. "Kelly, do you honestly believe that Maddie cannot work with a choreographer that she met last week?!"
"Shane, i believe there is no reason for you or your mother to be in there and my daughters are in here with someone that doesn't have a clue on which leg to kick on!" Kelly told him.
"He is supposed to be choreographing!" Shane exclaimed.
"How about he choreographs a dance for Maddie? That would sure never happen!" Kelly retorted as Megan, Sylvia, Skye and Lauren came in and could hear Shane arguing with Kelly.
"Kelly needs to chill." Skye suggested.
"Yeah." Lauren stated.
"Maybe she needs a nap, that'll chill her out." Megan commented.
"However, that would probably last a few seconds and she'd be back to going nuts again." Sylvia said.
Back in the other room, Shane and Kelly were still going at it.
"Kelly, we'd have no problem with working on Brooke and Paige on their duet, but you are going to have to wait." Shane told her.
"You, Abby or Gianna should be helping him." Kelly referred to the guest choreographer. "You can work with Maddie yourself, but nooooo, Maddie's the priority like usual! Maddie, you can go ahead and win!"
Kelly then got Brooke and Paige's bags and she stormed out with her daughters.
"Jealousy is gonna get her nowhere but Idiotville." Shane said as Abby, Gianna, Megan, Sylvia, Skye, Lauren and Maddie laughed after he said 'Idiotville'.
"Yeah." Abby told him, then they continued rehearsing and they all headed back to the hotel and called it a night, tomorrow would be Nationals, which would actually be held in Reno.

Diary Number 999, year I-don't-care, location home. Parenting. Of all I've found clear answers except for this most mundane topic. And not for the lack of trying. My library, so humongous my good friends told me one after the other there is no book it doesn't contain helped little. There are crumbling tomes of ancient magic, vocabularies depicting the evolution of the magical language itself, grimoires and holy bibles of cults long past, rows and rows filled with scrolls bearing the efforts of my magical research, contracts, diaries, letters and more. But parenting? There was none. Yet a struggle nearly every member of the Races is not foreign to. I...must have lived under a rock. Across aeons no less. What a humbling revelation.
