《Looking For A Place Called Home》Chapter 5 ~ My Chance

"Brooke Marie Hyland! Paige Mackenzie Hyland! What do you think you were doing running here when I told you did that I'd come later?" Kelly sighed walking in angrily. Her face instantly softened when she saw me, "Hello Maddie!" She said happily. I was confused, nobody was ever happy to see me. I smiled and cried, "I'm so happy that you're here!" Kelly looked at me and grinned. "Mum tell Maddie what you said!" Paige yelled, unable to contain her excitement. "Alright, calm down Paige! Maddie, I said that if we ever found you, we'd offer to adopt you." Kelly stated.

Ms Blair practically ran in. "You want to take her? You can! She's yours. She's never belonged here anyway. She is a horrible little brat and she's rude and inconsiderate and I'm happy to be rid of her!" Ms Blair said. Kelly looked at me and raised her eyebrows and I quickly shrugged my shoulders. "No she's not. We love her." Kelly yelled, starting to get annoyed. "Whatever!" Ms Blair laughed, "just sign here and here and here and she's all yours"

I could finally have my happily ever after, the ending that I felt like I deserved. I could have a family, a family who loved me and cared for me. I'd have big sisters and a big brother, and not just the silly other children that lived in the orphanage with me. There were a few of them that I'd miss though, such as Sophia and Sarah and Max and Lucas.

"Maddie are you ready?" Brooke said, walking into the dormitory. I was surrounded by the children who loved me. "Don't go Maddog!" Max cried sadly. "I'll miss you all so much!" I whispered, trying to hold back the tears that were about to flow out. "Mads we've got to go!" Brooke said softly, putting her arm around me and helping me with my things.

We walked downstairs and Paige immediately grabbed my things. "No need to do it yourself now. You're free from this vile place!" Kelly smiled and we left the orphanage. I looked back at it one last time and stated "I forgive you for the way you treated me, but I must let you know that nobody deserves to be treated like you treated me. I hope that you learn that you should treat the others well, they're worth it." And with that, I left, never to return again.
