Gianna's POV:

It's competition day AND Mackenzie's 7th birthday.

It's 4:30am! I'm waking Maddie up in 15 minutes and I've got all the decorations up and the balloons are all blown up ready for Kenzie.

I went to wake Maddie up and when she woke up, she was so excited. She woke up and whispered "It's Kenzie's birthday!" She didn't even mention the competition. We went downstairs and started making breakfast. We made Blueberry Pancakes and Waffles because that's what Mackenzie loves! After we made them, Maddie went and laid it all on the table while I went and woke up everyone apart from Mackenzie. Which was difficult because Brynn is a heavier sleeper and their beds are so close to each other! But, I did it by whispering 3 words in her ear '' she got up so quick, that I had to then whisper to her "don't wake her up!" I whispered while pointing at Kenzie. She nodded and we quietly tiptoed out the room and into the Chloe and Paige's room because it was the furthest away from Mackenzie.

When we got there, I said "Right, every one go and get your presents for Kenzie and take them downstairs. Then we will wake her up and go downstairs and eat and then she can open presents then we will get ready to go. So, if you guys can quickly get dressed now. Brynn, your clothes are in Jojos room. So you don't disturb Kenz. Let's go. Meet back in here in 10 minutes." Then we all went to get dressed and get our presents for Kenzie. Except me because I will be only giving Mackenzie 1 of her presents now. She will get her others during the day at the competition. I've got her 7 little presents and a couple of bigger ones.

Now, we are all back in Chloe and Paige's room, we are about to go and wake up Mackenzie but before we do. We decided on an order to go in so that she doesn't get overwhelmed. So, Brynn is going to go in first and sit on her bed. Then Maddie is going to go in and sit with Brynn. Then Jojo and Kendall. Then the rest of us will walk in and stand near her bed. Then we will sing Happy birthday. Brynn is going to wake Kenzie up as Maddie walks in.

It's now 8:30am and we are at the competition. Mackenzie loved all the presents that she got. And she got excited when I told her that there is more to come. We got to the dressing room and I said "Right, so far so good. We haven't seen Abby yet. I have a programme so I know when our dances are. So first is solos and all of you are against someone from the ALDC. Mackenzie and Jojo, you are against a girl called Sierra. Paige, you are against a girl called Ella. And Kalani, you are against Leila. So let's get the soloists ready. After solos we have 1 hour until duets and then trios are straight after duets and then we have a while until the group. So, soloists, go and get your costumes on and then come out and get your hair and makeup done and then you can all go through your routines."

It's now time for solos. We managed to get backstage without Abby seeing us. But now the fun part, getting to the audience. Luckily,we are behind Abby and the door to go in is behind Abby, so it should be fine as long as Abby doesn't turn around. We all sat down and I messaged everyone who was sat with me - which was Christi, Kelly, Brooke, Nia and Kendall - saying

They all looked at the message, looked at me and nodded. Then the MC came on the speaker and said "Welcome everyone to the competition. First up today we have our Petite solo category. And first up we have Act Number 001 from GMDC Mackenzie with an Acro solo entitled The Lioness."

Mackenzie's solo was amazing! She put everything into this dance. And I saw Abby looking at her throughout the whole dance. I'm not sure if she recognised her or not. Guess we will find out soon.

Then the MC said "Well Done Mackenzie. Next up we have Act Number 002 Jojo from GMDC with a HipHop solo entitled Legend."

Jojo messed up a bit. Abby looked mad! She definitely recognised Jojo and she probably pieced it together and realised that it was Mackenzie! Oh No!

Then the MC said "Well Done Jojo. Next up we have Act Number 003 Sierra from ALDC with a Lyrical solo entitled The Dancer."

I didn't watch her dance. Instead, I got my phone out and messaged the others -

They all looked at their phones and then looked at me and nodded then I got a message from Maddie -

Then I went backstage and saw Kenz crying and being comforted by Maddie and Brynn and Jojo crying and being comforted by Kalani and Paige.

I got both girls to calm down and look at me, then I said "Mackenzie, are you okay?" She shook her head, so I said to Maddie "Take her back to the dressing room. I'll be there shortly." She noodles and they left then I turned to Jojo and said "Jojo, your solo was good. So what if you messed up a little. I'm not mad. Okay?" She nodded and calmed down. I gave her a hug and then said "Let me go and check on Kenz. I'll be back to watch you two do your solos." I said pointing to Paige and Kalani.

So, I went to the dressing room and saw Kenz sitting there crying and Maddie comforting her. But she wasn't having it. When I walked in the door, they both turned to look at me and Kenz cam running to me, I picked her up and she hid her face in my neck and cried whilst saying "I'm sorry. I let you down." I put her down and then asked her "Is that why you're crying?" She nodded so I said "Did You hurt yourself?" She replied by saying "Yeah, I hurt my arm but that feels better now." So I hugged her and said "Thats good. Don't worry about your solo. It's done now and it looked great. Now, it's nearly time for Paige to do her solo, so let's go and watch yeah?" She nodded and smiled and then I asked her if she wanted to go backstage again or come and watch in the audience. She said can she come t other audience so I said "Of course." Maddie went back stage so I went with Kenz into the audience and as soon as we got there, she climbed off of my lap and went and sat on Brooke's lap and I smiled.

By time I looked back at the stage the MC was announcing the next solo "Please welcome to the stage Act a number 017 the last dancer in the Petite solo category. Alice from Studio Bleu with a Jazz solo entitled Wonder."

Alice forgot her solo and ran off the stage crying then the MC said "So, that was the end of our Petite solo category. Up next we have our Preteen solo category. And starting this group, we have Act Number 018 Paige from GMDC with Don't Bully Me."

Paige's solo was amazing!

The MC then said "Well Done Paige. Next up we have Act Number 019 Ella from ALDC with You Don't Know Me."

Abby is going to have a go at her, she forgot her dance and just stood there like a deer in the headlights.

I didn't pay attention to the other dancers until I heard the MC say "And that was the end of our Preteen category. Moving into our teen category, first we have Act Number 030 Kalani from GMDC with a lyrical dance entitled Be Yourself."

Kalani's solo was breathtaking.

Then the MC said "Now, please welcome Act Number 031 Leila from ALDC with You can do it."

Leila's dance was amazing! It's going to be a tight score between her and Kalani.

"Okay, now we have 50 minutes before the duets. So the order for duets is Petite, Preteen, Teen, Open Age. So, Jojo, Brynn, Maddie and Chloe you go and get your costumes on first. Then Kendall, Paige, Nia and Kalani can get their costumes on and then Brooke and Kenzie can get their costumes on. Be as quick as you can." So the 4 girls went behind the curtain and then I said to Kenzie "Kenz, come here, I have something for you." She came over to me and I pulled out a small purple box from my bag. She opened it and saw a necklace with Angel Wings on it. There was also a note that said Dear Mackenzie, if you are reading this, it's your 7th birthday so Happy Birthday! I gave this to Gianna the day you started at the ALDC and asked her to give it to you on your 7th birthday. Maddie has got a matching one as well. I got this made the day I found out I was expecting you so that you and Maddie will always have something to remember me when I'm gone. I'm sorry I am not there to celebrate your birthday with you and I'm sorry I didn't pay more attention to you when you were younger but I know that you are with people who love you right now. So, Happy Birthday my little Superstar. Love Mom. xoxo

Mackenzie started to cry and she came and sat on my lap and Maddie came out wondering what the noise was and when she saw Kenzie crying she ran to her side and she saw the box and the necklace and said "You got one too. I wear mine everyday!" Then Maddie showed Kenz her necklace and the sisters hugged and then Chloe, Jojo and Brynn came out and I sent Kendall, Paige, Nia and Kalani to get changed. While Maddie sat with Kenz I did their hair and Christi did Chloe's hair and Kelly did Jojos hair and Brooke did Brynn's hair and then the others came out in their costumes so Kenzie and Brooke went to get changed and then when they came out and got their hair and Makeup done, we then had 20 minutes so they each ran through their dances and then they all headed backstage.

The MC said "Starting our Petite duet category, we have Act Number 045 Jojo and Brynn from GMDC with a Lyrical dance entitled Human Mirror."

They were so good. They were in time! It was great.

"Well Done Jojo and Brynn. Next up we have Act Number 046 Alexis and Priya from ALDC with a Jazz dance entitled On the Dance Floor."

The duets were all very good, the duet from ALDC that went up against the preteen duets was 2 dancers called Thomas and Susanna and they had a love song. The duet from ALDC that went up against the Teen duet was 2 girls called Priyanka and Hannah. And the duet from ALDC that went up against Brooke and Kenzie was 2 girls called Nancy and Grace and the forgot their dance.

Now it's time for the trios. So, The petite trio is first. They are about to be called onto the stage.

"Now, moving onto our Petite trio category. First up we have Act Number 085 Mackenzie, Jojo and Brynn from GMDC with a Jazz dance entitled The three Muskateers."

They were really good. So was Abby's trio.

"Next up we have Act Number 100 Maddie, Chloe and Paige from GMDC with a Jazz dance entitled I'm back."

They looked breathtaking! It's like they have been dancing together from ages. Not that they haven't dance with each other for ages!

Abby's trio was a mess!

"In the Teen trio category, please welcome Act Number 115 Brooke, Kalani and Nia from GMDC with a Contemporary dance entitled We Rule the World."

They were so good. So was Abby's trio though!

The girls just performed their group dance and it was amazing! Now the ALDC are performing and their dance is a mess, the little ones aren't remembering the dance and the seniors are not in time!

Now it's time for awards!

"Well Done to everyone who competed in this competition. We are going to start awards with the Preteen groups. In 10th Place .......... In 9th place .......... In 8th place.......... In 7th place.......... In 6th place we have Act Number 158 ALDC. In 5th place.......... In 4th place.......... In 3rd place.......... In 2nd place.......... And the winners today, with a perfect score of 300 we have Act Number 157, GMDC."

I was shocked but very happy!

"Moving onto our teen trio category, in 5th place.......... In 4th place.......... In 3rd place we have Act Number 116 from the ALDC. In 2nd place.......... And in 1st place we have Act Number 115 Kalani, Brooke and Nia from GMDC."

"In our preteen trio category, in 5th place.......... In 4th place.......... In 3rd place.......... In 2nd place.......... And in 1st place we have Act Number 100 Maddie, Chloe and Paige from the GMDC."

"In our petite trio category, in 5th place.......... In 4th place.......... In 3rd place.......... In 2nd place we have Act Number 086, from the ALDC. And in 1st place we have Act Number 085 Mackenzie, Brynn and Jojo from GMDC."

"Moving onto our teen duet category, in 5th place.......... In 4th place we have Act Number 066 from the ALDC. In 3rd place.......... In 3rd place.......... In 2nd place.......... And in 1st place we have Act Number 065 Nia and Kalani from GMDC."

"In our preteen duet category, in 5th place.......... In 4th place.......... In 3rd place we have Act Number 055 from the ALDC. In 2nd place we have Act Number 054 Kendall and Paige from GMDC. And in 1st place we have Act Number 053 Maddie and Chloe from GMDC."

"In our Petite duet category, in 5th place we have Act Number 046 from the ALDC. In 4th place.......... In 3rd place.......... In 2nd place.......... And in 1st place, we have Act Number 045 Jojo and Brynn from GMDC."

"In our Out-of-Age duet category, in 5th place.......... In 4th place.......... In 3rd place we have Act Number 079 from the ALDC. In 2nd place.......... And in 1st place, we have Act Number 078 Mackenzie and Brooke from GMDC."

"Moving onto our Teen solo category, in 5th place.......... In 4th place.......... In 3rd place we have Act Number 031 from the ALDC. In 2nd place.......... And in 1st place we have Act Number 030 Kalani from GMDC."

"In our preteen solo category, in 5th place.......... In 4th place.......... In 3rd place.......... In 2nd place.......... And in 1st place we have Act Number 018 Paige from GMDC."

"Finally, in our Petite solo category, in 5th place we have Act Number 003 from the ALDC. In 4th place.......... In 3rd place.......... In 2nd place we have Act Number 002 Jojo from GMDC. And in 1st place with a perfect score of 300 is Act Number 001 Mackenzie from GMDC."

We got a clean sweep against the ALDC!!

Then the MC kept on talking and I knew what was coming.

"I have been informed that it is a certain little girls 7th birthday today, so Mackenzie Ziegler. As well as your First place trophy please accept this $500 in cash to get yourself something nice. Now can we please have Maddie Ziegler and Brynn Rumfallo backstage please."

They went backstage and got told that there were flowers to give to Kenzie so they each got a bouquet of flowers and waited for the MC to tell them to come out. Mackenzie was in tears. Then the MC said "Now, can we please have Gianna Martello to the stage please."

I went up on stage and then he said "Now, this lady has opened a new studio, GMDC the Gianna Martello Dance Centre and I would like to Officially say that it is open for official business and has been approved by the competition directors. This studio is already producing winners. All of her dancers either won 1st place or 2nd place today! Well Done GMDC! We will be seeing you at the next competition!"
