Brooke’s POV:

I sit in the living room with the police while we wait for my mom. Within a few minutes our mini van pulls into the driveway and mom runs inside, followed by Paige and josh- both of which coming much slower because they loaded themselves with grocery bags. As my mom rushes in officer Pyle gets up and starts to talk, "Kelly Hyland?" "Yes officer?" My mom replies with a touch of relief in her voice. "Do you believe your daughter? That your husband has repeatedly raped her?" He asks with a sense of power in his calm voice. "Yes. Yes I do." My mom says confidently. "Do you know what this means for your family and your husband?" The officer continues. "Yes." Mom replies a little less confidently, but more with a touch of sadness. "Okay. Do you know where he is?" We all shake our heads, he didn't even tell mom where he was going. After my mom finished answering a few more questions we heard the garage door open. Everything tensed up. Officer Hank slowly gets up, ready for anything.
