Brooke's POV:
"Class dismissed!" My teacher yells overtop the bell signaling the end of the school day. I slowly rise out of my seat, making no effort to hurry home. As I walk toward the bus, I place my earbuds in my ears and block out everything around me. Going home is the worst part of the day. For most, the school day couldn't go fast enough, but for me it protected me from the horrors of home that no one knows about. Not even Paige or my mom. Sitting in the back of the bus, no one notices me. I don't mind though. Life would be so much better if no one noticed me.

The New World
An AI calling itself Schema has assimilated earth into its system. As a consequence, everyone gained access to status screens, power-ups, and skills. This AI turned these concepts from fiction to fact. It's easy to become intoxicated with leveling up and becoming stronger. To some, it's too good to be true like living out a dream. Not only has the Spirit Internet been formed, Spirit Qi has also changed the course of Human Civilization, causing the world to enter a civilization of cultivation. This would later come to be known as the Spirit Inception Era.
