Chapter 10.
Brooke's POV :
Trudging back to Paige's house, I think of how my life will be without Brandon. I have no job, so all of 'my' money will be gone. I'll probably get kicked out of the house and Maddie will move in, speaking to my kids, maybe even taking care of them. There's no way I can leave my girls with those beasts.
I know it won't be safe. Where would I stay? Paige's house maybe? She's moving back to Pittsburgh in a few months. I'll have no where to live with no money. My girls will live a terrible life. What if I just pretend I haven't seen anything? Brandon will never know because he didn't see me recording him.
Paige is sitting on her front pouch drinking a cup of tea when I come back. She recognizes my look of distress.
"Cookie, what happened? What did you see?" She worries. I say nothing but hand her my phone. After watching the videos she looks ticked.
"That's why we aren't friends with Madison Ziegler anymore. This is what she does! This is what her mom does!" She sighs and hands me my phone.
"You ok?" I nod and wipe a tear away.
"I should've expected this. On my wedding day she promised she would get revenge for not inviting me. I wondered how she even knew, but then I remembered I invited Kenz. How could I not invite her? She's cuter than a button! Apparently this is her 'revenge'." Paige gives me a pity pat on my shoulder and tells me the girls are asleep. I check my phone. They should be: it's 10:39!
"Lets go to bed. Ella has school tomorrow." Paige helps me get up and leads me down the hall into her guest bedroom.

...
I forgot about the Brandon thing last night, so I'm all happy and cheery when I wake up. At least more than I should be. I dress Ella for school and drop her off. I pick Ella up at 1:30 and bring her over to Nolan's house so she and Joslin can play together. Those two have been together at whatever time they can. Ella calls Joslin her Josie Bear.
The girls go into Nolan's living room and play with Barbies or something. Nolan can tell I'm upset. I explain to him what happened, the whole story starting from my wedding, and end with a heavy sigh. Talking about this definitely does not help.
I apologize that I'm not feeling too well and get up to leave. Just as I'm about to go out the door, Nolan calls for me to stop. His strong arms wrap around me and hugs me right.
"I'm here if you need anyone to talk to. Even at two am." He says.
"Thank you." I smile slightly to show him I'm grateful for him saying that.
....
I wait on the couch for Brandon after I put Ella and Ali to bed. He's really late, as usual, and I'm so tired I'm about to sleep walk upstairs to bed. Then he bursts through the door, babbling on about how great work was for him today.
"Brandon," I calmly say.
"Can you come over here?" I hear him shuffling with papers in his brief case then his shoe tapping against the cool tile. He leans against the wall like he's been stressed all day. His eyebrows are furrowed together and her lips form a straight line. He looks almost…innocent.
"We should go on another vacation this week; lets leave tomorrow!" I exclaim. Brandon looks confused.

"We just went on one. Why would we go on another one?" I bitterly sigh and continue,
"Ok, the girls and I can stay here while you go to your girlfriend, Maddie's house for the week. I'm sure you would just love that!" I snap. I swear I can see all of the color drain out of his face.
"Who's Maddie?" He asks.
"Don't play dumb! I saw you go into her house this week and I have recorded evidence from last night. You sir, have been tricked by a woman. It won't be the last time." I smirk.
"It's not your place to be doing this kind of stuff! This is my private life I'd like to be kept private!"
"No! You got me into it because you only wanted my parents inheritance for you and your precious Maddie. Now get out before I call the cops!" I yell.
"Just let me get my stuff." He mumbles and jogs upstairs. I don't want him doing anything to my girls or stealing anything valuable.
He doesn't, and I watch his car drive off into the direction of Maddie's house.
Feeling satisfied of what I did, I lock all the doors and windows and go up to bed.
