if any person could be a rainbow, it's her. she's all the colours and more, like iris and persephone, a rainbow in springtime. a goddess reanimated. they're the crimson hues of rose petals as dewdrops drip from them in the early morning, the bright red of a robin's wing as it flutters its way to a tree branch and calls into the still air. they're the light orange at the bottom of the sky as the moon says goodbye and welcomes her lover into existence, the coral tint of the flowers blooming on the tree outside my window, the same colour blossoming its way across my face as i smile aimlessly at a screen. they're the pale yellow of the baby dandelions spreading through the grass i walk on, the bright twinkle of the stars as i dance under their giddy light. they're the dark green of the leaves that float their way down to the grass as the trees weep and mourn their loss, the lighter green of a stem as it fights its way into the world and supports the little bloom, never taking credit for all the work it does and letting the flowers smile. they're the clear blue of a little flowing stream in the woods, cool and relieving as i step into its waters and take a break from the chaos that lies outside these woods, the bright tone of the sky as it protects us from imminent death and lets us sing under its blanket. they're the purple and pink blends that flow their way up and down the vines overtaking the white, peeling fence outside, the beautiful patterns that sway along the clouds at sunset. they're the warm, comforting black of the night sky and the cool white glow of the moon as she shines her motherly light down upon us. they remind me of these beautiful sights and smells and sounds, perhaps because the feeling she gives me is twice as beautiful and infinitely more precious. she's spring encaptured, because spring is the season of life, and dear gods do they make me feel alive.
