《incomprehensible thoughts》the moon that lost their way
Advertisement
once upon a moonlit field
sweet honeysuckle cried as their petals were peeled
by the candy, the invisible poison
who broke the flowers without a noise and
did the same to the moon that lost their way.
she was so tempting, so sickeningly sweet
she smiled as her victim grew weak
for instead of them consuming her
she trapped and suffocated and took over
the moon that lost their way.
their glow grew dim and soft and fragile
and the sweet facade fell away as she left the child
to weep and wish for something sour
to overthrow the horrid sweetness that they devoured
oh, the poor moon that lost their way.
there was but a single light in the sky
to guide and help them as they cry and die
but that singular star was all they need
as they finally grinned and forgot to bleed
the blood of the moon that lost their way.
but then that light, it started to fade
and the little moon had no escape
from that field of wilted flowers
and memories of people who had power
over the moon that lost their way.
and just as they thought that everyone left
to leave them broken, despaired, and pointless
they found a saviour, a glowing soldier
who extended its hand and offered to hold
the moon that lost their way.
it brought them to a little place
with a group of people, glowing with grace
and here is where they found a home
and here is where they realized they were no
longer the moon that lost their way.
in this place, this space, this universe
there was one star who showed them their worth
she glowed, she shined, oh so brightly
and she reached out her arms and held on so tightly
to the moon that lost their way.
finally home, with their people
they realized that they could be peaceful
and as an overwhelming warmth took over their body
they were truly happy, in a field of bright red poppies
and the moon that lost their way.
for now they were whole, and they glowed too
not just a shadow, or a quiet echo
no longer were they tattered and torn
and as they were confidently reborn
they were no longer the moon that lost their way.
read this as fiction, if you desire
but this is not just a story, it's created from the fire
that burns through my veins, from my soul and my heart
and this story is true, for i am a part
of the moon that lost their way.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
