《Toxic Thoughts》Chapter 20: Aftermath

Bakugou ended up falling asleep on the couch in Kirishima's arms not much later. The red head was a blushing mess and both Kaminari and Ashido teased him about it while taking pictures. Everyone was relieved to have the ash blonde gremlin back, even if he was beat up. They were glad he'd never have to return to that house again and never see that abusive witch anymore.
Later that evening, the boxes from the Bakugou household arrived. There were plans to renovate Katsuki's part of the dormitory, seeing as he was a permanent resident now. He had an empty room next to his so the wall between those two would be broken down. The part of the hallway in front of those two rooms would also become part of the bigger whole, making the hallway shorter than others in the building. He would get his own bathroom and living room, together with a small kitchen. It would be like a small apartment of his own, his little home within the dormitory.
Katsuki slept right through the rest of the day though and the class decided it was better to leave him be on the couch. They put a pillow under his head and a blanket over his body before leaving to their own rooms to go to bed. When Bakugou was still sleeping the next morning, the students decided to make that whole brunch thingy over again. They had most of the ingredients anyway and there was a supermarket not so far off.
It was quite a sight, seeing class 1-A try to cook together while being as silent as possible so Bakugou wouldn't wake up. When they were almost finished, Katsuki started sleep-talking. Something he did often if the class had a say in it.
"Kiri... Kirishima..." he mumbled, his face still neutral, unlike the times he was having nightmares. The red head blushed as he heard his name fall from Bakugou's lips. He always called him Shitty Hair or hair for brains but never Kirishima. It almost sounded strange coming from him...
"Eijirou... S-stop... Tickles" he continued, a small giggle escaping his mouth. The class fell silent. Did the Bakugou Katsuki just giggle? Impossible. But then it happened again, and Bakugou turned around on the couch, laying on his back, smiling.
"Seems like he's having a good dream" Denki muttered, elbowing Eijirou with a smirk.
"Oh hush" Kirishima muttered, his face the colour of his hair.
Katsuki squirmed before laying still again, his eyes slowly opening. He sighed, dragging a hand down over his face.
"Fuck" he muttered, letting out a small yawn as he sat up. He squinted his eyes at the rest of the class, glaring a little.
"What the hell are you all staring at? I fell asleep on the damn couch, so what?" he grunted, standing up.
"Ugh, I feel like shit..." he added as he rubbed his eyes, glancing at the table.
"What the hell is this?"
"We made you brunch! Again!" Mina smiled, guiding the ash blonde to the table.
"The chocolates are still in the making though"
"And you're not allowed to walk out on this one!" Denki added. Katsuki silently sat down and everyone began the chatter happily while sitting down around him, enjoying the brunch they made together.
Bakugou started gathering some things on his plate he remembered to be good the last time he ate it.
"Hungry?" Jirou asked, raising a brow.
"Fucking starving. I only ate, like, 4 protein bars yesterday and they tasted awful" Katsuki mumbled, making Momo choke on her drink.

"I did sleep better than ever so I'll have to thank the old healing lady for exhausting me"
"All Might told me you'll have to go back today for a second healing" Deku spoke up, making him huff and mutter out a sarcastic 'great'.
"You seemed to be having a great dream before waking up" Sero chuckled as they continued to eat.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Bakugou barked.
"You talk in your sleep blasty" Ashido laughed.
"Yeah, you have the cutest giggle, oh my God! It was so adorable, I still can't believe it came from your mouth" Uraraka smiled.
"I don't fucking giggle, round face! There is no way that happened!" Katsuki growled, only to be met with the sound of a soft giggle as Todoroki held up his phone. It was a video of Bakugou on the couch, underneath a blanket as he was smiling, a small giggle escaping his lips.
"DELETE THAT RIGHT FUCKING NOW YOU HALF-N-HALF BASTARD!"
"Okay, I already send it to the class groupchat anyway" he stated, putting his phone away again.
"WHAT?!"
"Oh my God! Todoroki, you're my hero!" Ashido squealed. Bakugou's eye twitched as Kirishima chuckled, trying to keep him from exploding.
"You also whispered Kiri's name~" Kami teased, making the ash blonde flush a bright pink.
"W-what?"
"You stuttered!" Izuku gasped.
"Fuck off Deku!"
"But you did say Kirishima. You even said Eijirou! I didn't know the two of you were on first name basis" Sero grinned, making the both of them blush.
"You're really testing my fucking patience here, you damn extra's" Katsuki gritted out, biting down in his food.
"He's not denying it" Hagakure snickered. Bakugou shot up from his seat, instantly being held back by four other guys. The rest of the brunch went relatively well and everything was eaten completely. They split up after that, everyone doing what they normally did. The squad stayed in the living room and Katsuki laid on the couch while scrolling through his phone, nibbling on a chilli chocolate. He looked peaceful and content, happy now that he knew his parents could no longer hurt him.
Later on, he and Kirishima went over to Recovery Girl so he could get fully healed up. He brought Shitty Hair in case he was too tired to walk back afterwards.
"Oh, and these arrived today" Recovery Girl stated, putting a small container of pills on the table.
"Take one every morning"
"What are those?" Kiri asked confused.
"My anti-depressants" Bakugou sighed, taking the box and putting it away. Eijirou went quiet for a second before frowned.
"Do you...still need those? I-I mean, you're happy now, aren't you?"
"I'm just living off the high that the old hag is going to prison" Katsuki scoffed, having more self-awareness than others.
"I-I... I can't control my thoughts sometimes... My mind wanders off to dark places a-and we both know what happens when it does..."
"Trauma doesn't vanish when its source does. Take one every day or I'll personally come to force it down your throat! You hear me young man?!" the old nurse yelled.
"Yes! Geez" the ash blonde groaned.
"Just fucking do your thing already..."
She healed him up with a kiss and removed his bandages. Bakugou was tired, but it was better than he thought it would be. Yet Kirishima still let him lean on him as they walked. The sun was shining, giving surprisingly much warmth for a winter day.
"You really like the sunshine huh?" Kirishima chuckled, subconsciously thinking about the poem.

"Hmm" Bakugou hummed.
"You're like sunshine too, you know? Your damn laugh is blinding"
Eijirou blushed at that, stopping in his tracks. Katsuki frowned, stopping too.
"What's the fucking problem?"
"I-I need to confess something" the red head sighed.
"I-I... I read your poems..."
Bakugou's eyes widened as panic washed over him.
"You once called me sunshine when you were falling asleep, but I guess you forgot about that" Kiri chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.
"W-what I'm saying is... Please don't be mad at me-"
He was cut off however, by a pair of soft lips on top of his own. Katsuki raised his hands, letting them rest in Eijirou's neck as he pressed their lips together.
It was a sloppy first kiss, but you can't expect the first time to be perfect, now can you? This isn't a movie, this is real life. Not everything is perfect, but you can choose to see it as perfect if you wish to. Neither of them knew where the sudden boost of courage came from, but neither of them asked questions either.
"Fuck... I-I like you, okay?" Bakugou stuttered, a pink blush on his face as he pulled away.
If he wasn't looking at the ground, he would've noticed the pure red face of Kirishima, who was overwhelmed by the sudden action.
"That's... That's what the stupid poem was about... I fucking like you"
"I-I like you too, Bakugou"
With that, ruby red met dark deep red and they both blushed. It's impossible... Nobody could ever like an imperfection like him...
Katsuki was looking for any signs of lying, his toxic thoughts running wild through his mind. How could this little sunshine boy like him when all he ever did was insult him and push him away?! There was no way he was telling the truth! He was just saying that of pity or because-
"Bakugou" Kirishima hissed, grabbing his shoulder, making Katsuki wake up from his trance. He felt tears running down his cheeks but he didn't remember when he started crying.
"Are you okay? Do you need a minute?" the red head asked concerned. He hated and loved that little worried look of his...
"Why do you like me?" Katsuki choked out, wiping away his tears.
"There... There is nothing to like-"
"Don't talk about yourself like that dude! You're amazing!" Ei stated.
"You're talented and strong and super manly and you're a gorgeous man! What is there not to like about you?"
"You want me to fucking cry my eyes out, don't you?" Katsuki sobbed, pulling Kirishima close so he could hide his face in his chest.
"So, uhm, does that mean you would, uh, maybe want to uhm consider going on a-a date with me?" Eijirou asked nervously as he wrapped his arms around the blonde.
"Oh hell yes, we're boyfriends now, you're never getting rid of me again" Bakugou pointed out, jabbing his chest with a small smile lingering on his lips.
Kirishima laughed, holding the smaller male even closer to him.
"Okay, deal"
They stayed like that for a little longer before Katsuki pulled back, stating he was tired and they should get back to the dorms. Eijirou laughed and nodded, intertwining their hands as they walked. It made the both of them blush, internally screaming with happiness at the small gesture.
It was tender and gentle and full of affection and Bakugou just didn't know if he could handle all the fluffy love shit that this shark boy would throw his way. But he was determined not to falter, willing to let himself get used to the feeling of love and care. Nobody would ever rip this away from him again, he'll make sure of that.
- Time Skip -
The Bakusquad was hanging out in Bakugou's room, seeing as it was the biggest one in the dorm and he had his own tv and living room. They were doing a marathon on some teenage soap that Mina recommended and it was actually not that bad.
"Just kiss already!" Ashido yelled at the screen, almost throwing her popcorn at the tv.
"Hey, no spoilers!" Kirishima pouted, pushing Mina a little.
"Do they really have to tease us a whole season and then cut off the kiss in the season finally?! These people are torturing us!" Sero groaned, falling back in utter frustration.
"Yeah, it's almost as painful as watching those two find each other" Denki stated, pointing at Eijirou and Katsuki, who were basically sitting on each other's lap. The last semester was almost over and exams were lurking around the corner.
The red head and ash blonde had been together for weeks now and Bakugou had learned how to accept and give affection to those he cared about, even if he was still, you know, Bakugou.
"Fuck off Pikachu! I could say the same about you and that purple cat lover! When are you finally gonna ask him out huh? You two have been dancing around each other like fucking oblivious idiots"
Kaminari gasped, placing a hand over his heart.
"Excuse me, but me and Shinsou are something entirely else!"
"You're not dude, you're just a bisexual disaster and he can't flirt" Sero stated.
"The truth has been spoken!" Mina declared, grabbing the remote.
"Ready for the next season guys?"
"I call toilet break!" Kirishima exclaimed, shooting up from the couch and walking over to the little bathroom.
Since the red head stayed over a lot, he had his own toothbrush and some of his clothes in Katsuki's closet. The ash blonde had a double bed now, filling up his room a bit more now that he had so much space. UA had agreed to be his guardian until he turned 18, which basically meant all teachers treated him like their son. It gave pretty funny situations. If he needed parental permission to leave campus or something and one of said no, he just went to another one to get his paper signed.
Bakugou was even added to the staff group chat and sometimes the teachers would mess with him and call him son in front of the class. In rare moments Katsuki actually went along with it, calling them his mom or dad or auntie or uncle. One time he called Aizawa Dadzawa and now the class is constantly teasing their homeroom teacher with it.
When Eri came into the picture, she instantly claimed Bakugou as her older brother and the blonde had accepted it. 'Guess I have a sibling now' was all he had said when the small girl was decorating him with flowers. He didn't hear anything else from his biological parents and the teachers did everything in their power to prevent them from reaching him.
They were the ones who took things to court and got them in prison, all without involving Katsuki. The last thing they wanted was for him to get traumatised even more or having to relive all of that in court. And so a new, happier, family was formed. Somewhere Katsuki truly felt at home, surrounded by people who care about him.

SHE'S A MOTHER TRUCKIN' DRAGON I dunno about you, but I'd like to read a story where a young, Southern woman gets reincarnated as a hill dragon and has to fight vicious fairies, handsome dwarves, and plants that make you sneeze assisted by only her wits and a very passive-aggressive system that sends her weird emoticons. ... And My Skillet
A long time ago, a child was born under the great blue sky. Many a Dwarf grumbled at the auspicious event, tugging furtively at their beards at this ill omen. A year later as the expedition had begun digging into the virgin hills of their new home, the grumbling of the doughty mountain people rose to a disbelieving furor when the yearling passed over the ritual offerings that would determine his lot in life. Instead, the as of yet unnamed child crawled over to a skillet fresh out of the fire and begun picking at the rock bread, unconcerned with the heat. Shouts turned into laughter, frowns lifted into craggy smiles. Upon placing a handful of the bread into his mouth, the infant’s face grew so grim and stony not even the eldest of the present Dwarves could match him. There was a durable ore within this babe, of that the Lore Keeper was sure. Yumly Ironhand was thus named, the beginning of his great tale immortalized on the rune walls of his clan’s history. “It’s pronounced Yoom Lee and no, rock bread isn’t a misnomer.”
