《Toxic Thoughts》Chapter 6: Sick

After a while, Katsuki finally found the strength to move. He crawled up from his spot, stumbling over to the staircase and letting the warmth fall over him. He sniffled, wiping away the last of his tears as he slowly descended the stairs. He didn't need a mirror to know his eyes were puffy and red from all the crying. Some of his make-up had rubbed off in the snow too, making some of the bruising visible where the layer of foundation was thinned out.
He prayed nobody was in the hallway as he opened the door and for once his prayers were answered, there was not a single soul to be found. He sniffled again, wiping his nose as he strolled down the hallway to his room. When he arrived, he found his door slightly ajar, making him frown. As soon as he pushed it open, he could see why. There was a large container standing on his desk, filled with smaller transparant containers.
He recognized it as the brunch those idiots made. Didn't he lock his door? He must've forgotten... With a click, he made sure the door was certainly locked before walking over to the food. A small note laid on top. He recognized it as Ashido's handwriting.
Hey blasty! Sorry for entering without permission! Your room is super clean though! (I'm kinda jealous) Anyway, we saved most of the food for you if you still want it. We could eat together or you can eat it alone, your call XD
-Ashido Mina (Raccoon eyes)
PS. You gotta lend me some of that make-up some time!!
His eyes widened and his gaze shot towards the small bathroom, seeing the door open, its contents on display for all to see. She saw his make-up... Did the others see it too? Were they here as well? He took a shaky breath as he laid the note aside, seeing there was a backside as well.
PPS. We placed your math book back in the drawer
PPPS. You're drawings are great!!
His breath hitched and his crumbled up the paper, exploding it in the palm of his hand before tossing it in the trash. Staring at the box in front of him, he realised how hungry he was. He clicked it open, taking out one of the top boxes. It was filed with chocolate dipped strawberries. After clicking that contained open as well, he settled down on his bed, pulling his blanket around him as he leaned against the wall, nibbling on the strawberries.
They were sweet, but he didn't really mind in that moment. Slowly, he started gathering more containers around him, spreading them out on his bed as he ate. The food was good... He liked it even though he still felt like he didn't deserve it. Katsuki was glad no one bothered him for the rest of the day and he fell asleep, wrapped up in his blanket, the empty containers littered throughout his room.
"Has anyone seen Bakugou?" Kirishima asked, looking at the empty kitchen. It was almost time for dinner and the blonde hadn't made an appearance yet. He'd been missing ever since the failed brunch and nobody knew whether he was in his room or not.

"Not since he ran off this morning" Jirou answered him.
"Maybe someone has to go check on him?"
"I'm not sure if he would appreciate that..." Midoriya frowned.
"Well, I'm not gonna sit here and do nothing. Wish me luck you guys" Kirishima smiled, getting up from the couch.
"Don't get killed!" Kaminari yelled as the red head walked into the elevator. Eijirou rolled his eyes, pressing the button for the top floor. When he arrived, he saw the ash blonde boy shuffling out of his room, a wide smile appearing on his face.
"Bakugou!"
Katsuki flinched at the loud noise, glaring at the red head as he approached him. Eijirou noticed that Bakugou was wearing a hoodie now, unlike the shirt he was wearing this morning. And his face seemed pale, besides his nose, which looked a little red.
"Don't yell at me" he grumbled, but there wasn't the usual anger behind it.
"What are you doing here anyway? It's almost dinner time..."
"Yeah, that's why I came to check up on you" Kirishima said with a small smile.
"Oh..." Katsuki breathed. Of course... He was only good to make them food...
"I was on my way before you fucking yelled at me... Now move out of my damn way-"
He stumbled forward, almost tripping over his own feet. Kirishima stopped him immediately, giving him a good look. He carefully placed his hand on Bakugou's forehead, surprised the blonde even let him.
Truth to be told, Katsuki lacked a lot of strength at the moment. His head hurt and he felt miserable.
"Dude, you're burning up" Kiri stated, his voice filling with worry. That's what he gets for sitting out in the cold, I guess... Before he could mutter out a weak 'I'm fine', Kirishima had grabbed his shoulders, gently turning him back to his room.
"You're probably coming down with a cold. Come on, let's get you back to bed" he sighed, opening up the door to Katsuki's dorm.
The ash blonde allowed the shark boy to guide him towards the bed, his body moving limply between all the empty cups and containers.
"I see you ate our brunch" Ei chuckled, pulling the covers over Bakugou as the blonde laid down.
"Did you like it?"
Katsuki grunted in response, his eyes already closing. Man, he was sleepy... But the headache was keeping him from falling into the comfortable darkness.
Kirishima gathered up all the boxes, stacking them in the larger container so he could take them away again. The sight of Bakugou all cuddled up in his blanket was so peaceful... With his little red nose, no scowl on his face...
"I'll bring by some medicine later, okay? You just rest up"
Another small sound escaped his lips, but he didn't open his eyes. The red head gave him a small smile before leaving the room, carefully closing the door behind him.
People gave him questioning looks when he came downstairs again, carrying the Tupperwares from the morning.
"Bakugou is sick" he declared, putting the empty boxes on the table.
"I think he might have a cold..."

"Kacchan is really sensitive to cold temperatures due to his quirk so he get's those easily" Midoriya muttered.
"It's because he sweats more than a regular person and sweat makes heat leave the body, cooling it down. So if the surrounding temperature is already cold, he only gets colder and his immune system-"
"We get it Midoriya" Todoroki interrupted him.
"W-was I muttering again?" the green head squeaked in embarrassment.
"Sorry!"
Uraraka laughed, saying it was fine as Deku kept apologizing. Meanwhile Kaminari walked up to Kirishima, sighing as he stared at the empty boxes.
"So he ate everything huh? What did he think about it?"
"I'm not sure, but I think he liked it" Kirishima shrugged.
"So that means our surprise was a success after all!" Ashido cheered, suddenly standing on his other side.
"Maybe... But we'll have to make our own dinner tonight since Bakugou is sick. I promised him I would come back with medicine later"
"Aw, you're such a good friend Kiri~" Mina said, hugging the red head.
"Yeah but we still have to make our own food now" Kaminari groaned.
Everyone in class quickly caught word of the fact that Bakugou had fallen ill and they all made soup together. After they ate, Kirishima and Yaoyorozu made their way upstairs. Eijirou carrying some soup in a thermos and Momo carrying medicine.
"Bakugou?" Kiri asked carefully, softly knocking on his door before opening it. Katsuki cracked his eyes open, still rolled up into a blanket burrito.
"I have some soup if you want. The whole class made it together"
"And I have some medicine" Momo added. It seemed as though Bakugou only now registered the second presence in his room and he slowly rose into a sitting position.
"This one is for your fever. You should take it twice a day" Yaoyorozu continued, placing it on the nightstand.
"I also have something in case you feel nauseous and something for headaches"
Katsuki's gaze followed her movements as she put the bottles and prescriptions down on his nightstand. He didn't seem fully awake yet and was silent as she explained how to take it and how much he could take a day. The truth is that he was unable to process why they would even care. Nobody ever bothered with medicine when he had fallen ill in the past. Quite the contrary, he had to act like nothing was bothering him or she would hit him for being weak...
Why are they treating him so nice? If not even his own mother would? Like he hasn't been a jerk to all of them, insulting them and making them hurt. He doesn't deserve this...
"Bakugou, open your mouth" the female voice demanded. He did so without question, not realising where he was or who was talking to him. A second later, a spoon filled with some disgusting thick liquid filled his mouth. He coughed after he swallowed it, his face scrunching up at the taste.
"I know it's terrible, but it'll make you feel better" Momo chuckled.
"Remember, twice a day, okay? So you have to take another spoon tomorrow morning as well"
Katsuki blinked, confused for a moment, reminding himself he was in his dorm room.
"Do you feel okay otherwise? No nausea? No headache?" she asked, fussing over him.
It made him think of the worried older sister he never had. Of a sibling that would care for him if he fell ill. It was a nice thought...
"Headache..." he mumbled, seeing Kirishima grab another bottle and shaking out a pill.
"I'll go grab a glass of water so it's easier to swallow" Momo said, standing up and walking over to the toilet area. She didn't comment on his make-up, just taking the water and coming back.
"Here" Ei said, handing him the pill after she gave him the water. Bakugou had never swallowed medicine before, his parents wouldn't buy it for him. It was a sign of weakness to need these little helping hands for his own immune system. He didn't understand why they were giving it to him. Did they see him as weak? Someone who needed help? Who couldn't take care of himself? Most likely...
Yet he didn't really seem to care about their opinions in that moment. He was tired and he felt like crap. He just wanted to get better as soon as possible. So he placed the pill in his mouth and took a big sip of the water, swallowing it like he'd seen people on tv do it. He coughed a little afterwards, not expecting the feeling to be this weird.
"Drink some water" Kirishima urged, tilting the glass back to his mouth. Katsuki did what was asked of him with no complaint. It was strange for the two others to see him like this. So compliant and calm... Scary almost.
"You want to eat something? Or just sleep for now?"
"Sleep" Bakugou muttered, already sinking down on the bed again, his eyes struggling to stay open.
"Okay, just know I'll be back in the morning to make sure you take your medicine and eat something" Kirishima stated, earning a whine-like noise from the ash blonde as he turned around in bed. With that, he and Momo left the room, closing the door behind them.
"I didn't expect him to be affected this bad... He didn't even complain" Yaoyorozu said in slight shock at what she had just witnessed.
"I know, it's nothing like him" Eijirou frowned.
"Anyway, thanks for creating the medicine. I'm sure he appreciates it"
"I wouldn't be able to call myself an aspiring hero if I'm even unable to help a classmate in need!" Momo smiled, a determined look covering her face.
"Let me know if I can do anything else, okay?"
"Yeah, thanks" Kirishima smiled, yawning a little as he stretched.
"Man, I think I'm gonna sleep in early today too. I'm beat!"
The two of them laughed before bidding each other goodbye and returning to their dorms. Ei sighed as he flopped down on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
'Please get better soon Bakugou'
