《Cherry Scent》LIV. Love Doesn't Always Win

Love may not always win but it gets a hell of a lot more winnings than hatred.
I was on edge, I was so scared that I wouldn't be with my father anymore.
I closed my eyes as I held onto my father, tears streaming down my face faster than expected.
Before any words could be said, I took out my emergency small cherry Scented perfume and sprayed it on my wrist.
Everything was silent now, I kept my eyes shut and prayed to whoever was listening that my dad would take me and not my mother.
To at least have mercy on me as I was a good kid and that I wouldn't ever do something horrible, I wanted a good life.
"Spencer Delmonico, you may be her permanent parent and legal guardian."
The judge finally said with a smile as he hit the desk with his gavel, I crumbled onto the ground with tears of joy sliding down my face.
My father shouted in happiness as he picked me up and twirled me around, I squealed with excitement as he kissed my forehead.
"I told you to trust me kiddo, dad always has your back."
My dad whispered into my ear as he set me down, I didn't doubt him once.
My mother looked furious but that wasn't my problem, I walked over to her and hugged her softly.
"You will not have the title mother but you could still be in my life."
I mumbled, I didn't want my mother to leave my life but with all she's put me through I didn't think there was another option.
My mom looked at me and rolled her eyes, instead she pushed me away from her and shook her head.
"No, I don't think I could handle that."

I sighed and moved away from her, she began to mutter curses under her breath.
I didn't want to care but she was my mom, it was still going to hurt.
"Love won't always win, you know that Scarlett Elizabeth!"
My mother shouted after me causing me to turn around and face her, she was right though.
Love won't always win nor will it be there for me to help me win, but it was something that a person would be glad to have.
Love may not always win, but it gets a hell of a lot more winnings than hatred.
I hissed at my mother, I turned my heel and ran to my dad.
He shook the hands of our lawyers and grabbed my hand, we walked out of the courthouse with smiles as big as Texas.
"That took guts Scar, I know we promise to keep that in the past."
My dad spoke softly, I smiled at him and squeezed his hand in response.
It was my decision, it was something I had to do to win the case and it did help win.
I got into the car and buckled up, my phone had been powered off for a while since the whole thing started.
I looked at my hand, I was afraid of taking that gauze off so I just traced the bandages.
"I bet you're excited that you'll be able to see Jaden."
Alana sang with a smirk dancing on her lips, I looked at her and rolled my eyes playfully as I scoffed.
I wasn't going to deny it either, Jaden was another reason I wanted to stay.
He was like the added perk for buying something that nobody else would buy, although a bunch of girls wanted him, I was lucky enough to have him.

As we arrived to the house, I was actually nervous to see him again.
I didn't know why, I just felt like I was seeing Jaden for the first time again and I wanted to look and certainly smell my best.
I sprayed my Cherry Scented perfume on me and got out the car, I was actually freaking out.
I knew I liked this boy but I didn't know I liked him so much, I watched as Jaden left his house and ran full speed towards me.
A smile on his face was bigger than anything on this planet, he swept me off my feet and twirled me around causing me to giggle.
I hardly ever giggle, what was this boy doing to me?
Whatever it was, I enjoyed it.
"I missed you!"
He whispered into my ear, I laughed at his childishness and kissed him softly.
I didn't want to pull away but I did, I wanted to hold onto him again.
"I missed you too Jay."
I said as I began to cry again, so much has happened within the last forty-eight hours that everything felt like a dream.
But I was awake, I know I was.
Jaden made me happier than ever, I couldn't have been more glad to be with him.
I like him.
I like him a lot.
I like him so much.
I love him.
