Look man, I nearly failed algebra, do you really think I know what the total is?

~ Scarlett's POV ~

I sighed and snapped out of my trance, my stomach growled a bit.

I didn't eat dinner since I took a nap so I walked to a supermarket, I walked around and decided to buy some food.

I bought essentials that were needed since I was running out, I grabbed a lot of snacks and drinks.

I walked to the cashier and waited for her to finish scanning the person in front of me.

It has been two years since I had a body image problem or wished I was slimmer or thicker.

Soon it was my turn and I watched as the lady scanned through my items, she flashed me a smile and finished scanning.

"You look very young, parents around?"

She asked, I sighed and shook my head trying to give her a soft smile but it came out forced.

She nodded her head and continued to interrogate me, I really didn't care enough to pay attention so I zoned out.

"Well, do you know the total? Simple math really."

The lady asked, I sighed annoyingly and looked at her.

It's summer, do you really believe that I would remember anything at all from the school year?

Trick question, no because I barely remember how to do fractions.

Look man, I nearly failed algebra, do you really think I know what the total is?

I asked to which I never got an answer, she looked at me as if I was disrespectful and gave me the total.

I smiled at her and gave her the money, grabbing my bags and walking away.

"Have an amazing life."

I said as I raised my middle finger to her back, I walked out of the supermarket and began to walk back home.

As I was walking home, I felt my phone vibrate, I looked down and smiled as it was Cora.

"Sup Coraline from wish?"

I greeted my best friend as I continued to walk to my house.

"Shut up, where are you?"

Cora asked as she laughed, I showed her my supermarket bag and then showed her to my face.

We continued talking about some stuff until I got home, I unlocked the door and walked inside.

"Is Jayla there? I need my lesbian icon."

I said as I put the food away.

"I thought I was your lesbian icon?"

Cora asked with a fake sad tone, I shook my head and grabbed a cup of ramen and soda.

She dramatically put her hand on her heart and gasped at me, making me laugh at her.

"You're still my favorite best friend!"

I tried defending myself as I set my phone up, I took my soup out and poured my soda into a glass cup.

"I'm you're only best friend!"

"Not true, Jayla, Daelo and Javon are my other best friends!"

I replied as we laughed, I ate my food and went upstairs.

After some hours, Cora and I decided to hang up but not before planning a sleep over with Jayla.

I laid in bed and watched some YouTube, I was really bored so YouTube was my best friend for now.

Whilst watching Nick Sturniolo justify how Staffs are better than Spears, I got a notification from Instagram.

I groaned and paused the video, I went on to the app and looked at what the notification was.

It was Layla, I sighed and looked at what she posted.

I didn't want to continue getting notifications, I could just have Cora tell me whatever she posts.

I scrolled through her page, I watched the videos of us together and slowly began to cry.

How does someone straight up change on you for no reason?

The worst part is that I still want to be her friend, I still kept her secrets and I felt like an idiot.

After having an hour of scrolling through her page, I took a deep breath and let it out although it was shakey.

I sat up from my bed as the tears ran down my cheeks and landed on my bed sheets, I clicked on her profile and clicked the block button.

I put my phone down on my bedside table and laid back down, I turned on my LEDs to purple and turned on my AC as well.

I wrapped myself with my blanket and closed my eyes allowing myself to fall asleep.

I wasn't able to go to sleep, I grabbed my phone and began to dial Jaden's number.

He answered after two rings, I decided to click the face time button to which he accepted it.

"You alright?"

He asked as he took a sip from his soda, I nodded my head and placed my phone up and closed my eyes.

I smiled as I heard him chuckle, he turned on his TV and continued to watch it.

He never really hangs up, he goes on mute if it begins to get too loud or he might turn off his camera but he won't hang up.

I definitely liked that about someone or more specifically, him.
