Chapter 17, Saying Goodbye

If you guys end up dating, tell me please!

~ Scarlett's POV ~

We were all in my front yard, with the Waltons.

Today was the last day we would spend since Javon and Layla were going to be in Euphoria for seasons two, if anyone were to remind me that I was going to miss them, I would deny it.

Layla's been my best friend for years and we have never been apart for more than a week, I didn't know what I was going to do when I needed her in person.

FaceTime, calls and texts weren't the same, I needed the physical contact.

"What am I going to do without you?"

Cora asked as she draped her arms around Layla's shoulder.

"Die of boredom."

Layla responded with a laugh, but what were we going to do?

She was the core of our friendship, when things got rough we ran to her for help.

I found Cora looking at something or someone to be more specific, I followed her gaze which guided me to Jayla.

Jayla was playing around with Daelo, I smirked and nudged Cora.

"Looks like someone's got your Corazon."

I teased, Cora looked at me and laughed.

Just saying, their sister is hot so set me up when y'all get a chance.

Cora said before walking off to grab a soda, I smiled and walked over to Jayla.

"Hey Jay!"

I greeted her as I sat beside her, she looked away from Daelo and smiled at me.

We began talking about how weird it's going to be for a while without the two people that made us feel sane.

"Whose that girl?"

Jayla asked as she nodded over to For as direction.

"Cora, she's super sweet and super into girls."

I said what I said, Jayla was going to figure it out anyways.

Besides Cora was giving her heart eyes and Jayla unknowingly gave them back.

"She's Daelo's babysitter."

Jessica added herself into the conversation which is something I love about her, she's so supportive of everything so she became a second mom to me.

She's Daelo's babysitter? Does nobody care about my love life?

Jayla complained jokingly, I laughed and looked at her.

Jessica and I shared a look and nodded, I stood up and walked over to Cora.

"Jayla wants to talk to you."

I said happily, Cora didn't waste any time walking over there.

Everyone was talking to each other, My dad and DJ, My mom who surprised me was talking to Jessica, Jayla and Cora, Layla, Javon and Daelo.

I had no idea where Jaden was but I didn't bother asking or looking around for him, instead I laid on the grass and cloud gazed for a bit.

Soon I felt another presence next to me, I looked over and smiled.

"Didn't think you would be here."

I spoke to Jaden, turning onto my side because my back began to hurt.

"My twin and your best friend are leaving tomorrow, I want to be here for the last day."

Jaden responded with a smile, soon we found ourselves talking about baseball and the fight which we made fun of.

The sun was setting soon, so we turned on some music and danced around.

Once it was completely dark, we went inside and went to sleep.

I slept over at Layla's and so did Cora, we spoke about how exciting it's going to be working with Zendaya and all of that.

We went to bed since it was getting late and we had to wake up early to take Layla and Javon to the airport.

I wasn't ready to let her go even if she was going for a few months, I felt like a lovesick dog but we grew up together and it was going to be difficult.

When my alarm woke us up, I knew it was time to let her leave.

I changed into a tennis skirt, collar white shirt and white vans.

I brushed my hair down and put on a white bucket hat, I walked into Layla's bathroom and brushed my teeth when Cora came out.

When we finished, we walked outside and waited for the Waltons to come out.

"Let's go."

DJ said, we piled into two separate cars and drove to the airport.

We sang along to different songs, but when we got there, I played depressing music.

We rushed as we heard the passengers of her plane must board now, I hugged her tightly and smiled.

If you guys end up dating, tell me please!

Layla shouted before Javon grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the plane, I laughed at her words but I was definitely going to tell her everything.

We got back home safely, but I soon was informed I had to go to school.

I grabbed my phone and called Jaden, if I had to do back to school shopping so did he.
