《Drunk & Sober : IN LOVE》Chapter 26

I sat on the bed while Rex was getting dressed. The boys had finalised on a black blazer with black pants along with a white or black shirt beneath.
He looked at me while he adjusted the cufflinks on his sleeve. I went near him and while adjusting his tie I said, "Maybe we can make the most of this party and get engaged today."
He started coughing and this made me chuckle a bit. I handed him a glass of water and while rubbing his back I said, "I didn't mean to make you feel nervous. I was just kidding."
"You were?", he asked me while he looked at me expectantly. I smiled a bit before saying, "Obviously I was! Do you see us getting engaged within two weeks of our relationship?"
My face was now serious as I looked into his blue eyes trying to read them. "I have absolutely no problem. It's you for me, now or 3 years down the line. Nothing's gonna change", he said while looking down at his tie.
I didn't know what to say and so I just nodded at him giving him the most genuine smile I could muster. Just then my phone rang and it was as if god could sense my embarrassment and had sent a saviour for me.
"It's grandma", I said to him while looking at the screen. "Baby, I got a message from Rey asking if I have an extra tie. Do you mind if I join you later?", he said while holding an extra black tie in his hand.
"No worries. See you later!", I said while kissing him. I then went near the window to receive her call.
After 15 minutes, when I ended the call I saw Austin sitting on my bed with a rectangular box in his hand. "Hey", I said before moving closer to where he was sitting.
"Hey", he said awkwardly while tracing the tattoo that was underneath his sleeve. "You look handsome in formals. Have I ever told you this? And by the way how long have you been waiting?", I said while noticing his green eyes that I was once so fond of.
He chuckled lightly before replying, "Thank you so much Becs. It means a lot coming from you. And it's hardly been 10 minutes since my arrival. By the way I am sorry for enjoying your martini. I could get you one more if you want." I scrunched my eyebrow not exactly remembering when I ordered a martini.
"No thanks. Infact I don't even remember ordering one", I said while smirking at him. "By the way what brought you here to my room today?", I said while breaking the silence.
"Uhh...oh yes! I forgot. Here, take this", he said while giving me the box.

"What is this?", I asked while carefully inspecting the blue velvet box. "See for yourself", he said while passing me a faint smile.
I opened the box and discovered a bracelet with Austin and my initials on it. I traced my finger over the letters and it brought a smile on my face.
"Do you like it?", he asked me nervously. "I love it Austin. Thank you so much."
He then got up from the bed and made his way towards the door. He stopped midway and after turning to look at me he said, "Burgundy suits you Becs. You look beautiful as always!"
As soon as I made my way downstairs Talia looked at me with a surprising look on her face. "Hey Tal! That dress looks pretty on you", I said while I noticed her from head to toe.
She passed me a big grin that somehow looked superficial to me before she asked me, "Are you feeling alright? I mean you aren't feeling ill right?" I gave her a confusing look before adding, "Yes Tal. I am good. Do I look sick?"
She giggled a bit before saying, "No...Nah! You look like an angel in that dress. Maybe I can borrow it sometime." I smiled at her before saying, "Sure"
I saw Rey and April standing near the bar counter and I half expected Rex to see there as he last told me that he was going to help Rey with the tie problem. I made my way towards the counter hurriedly and as soon as Rey saw me he filled a glass of champagne and gave it to me.
"Always the one to turn heads", he said while eyeing April in an attempt to mock her. "Stop being a douchebag to her. She is looking so stunning", I said while I punched him on the chest.
After taking the glass from him my eyes wandered around to catch a sight of my man. "I saw him going upstairs", April said when she realized I was searching for him.
"Okay. Thanks much", I said while keeping the glass on the counter and making my way to the stairs. I checked my room again but it had no sign of him.
I was going to check in Alan's room when on my way I heard gagging noises from Austin's room. I swung the door open to find Rex sitting on the bed with a first aid box in his hand.
"What's the matter? And where is Austin?", I asked sounding worried. He pointed towards the bathroom and continued, "I was coming to look for you when I saw his door open. I came inside to check if he still hasn't left and here he was puking his guts out on the floor."
Just then Austin came inside and his eyes grew wide when he saw me standing there. "How are you feeling now?", I asked him while I took a few steps closer to him.

He motioned for me to stop and said nervously, "Just something that I ate. I don't think I will be able to attend the party as I have no control over my urge to puke and it doesn't seem to stop anytime soon. You guys go and enjoy. They need you down there." I was about to convince him that I shall stay with him in the room when he added, "Please"
I shook my head at him and before leaving the room with Rex I said, "You take care of yourself and if you feel fine after some time do join us at the party. I will keep checking on you after ever y few hours." He just nodded at me and with that I left.
The beach in front of their house was beautifully decorated. They had set a small platform with daisy and lily decorations.
There were lights and ballroom lanterns hanging above from the translucent white cloth that squared the place into a close tent. There were teakwood tables and chairs spread in circles.
A small DJ was set up in one extreme corner which played light romantic music which acted more liveliness in the atmosphere. Once it got dark and the lights were turned on, the place looked breathtakingly divine.
The orange blue sky acted in support of the orange light that was shining through the lanterns. The cold breeze from the sea and the salty taste in the air swayed across freely like butterflies in a garden.
Talia, April and I stood together in the back while the boys were near the bar counter to get some drinks for us. Just then Stella came towards us with a frown on her face.
"I need one person from my group to speak about Alan and me." As soon as she completed her statement Talia added, "I'll do it. There is no shortage of those cute moments that you'll shared back in school."
But Stella didn't look satisfied with her answer. Just then the boys came holding our drinks.
Stella stared at me and this made me a bit uncomfortable. "What?", I asked her while giving her a serious look.
"Actually Alan and I would love it if you could do it for us", she said internally begging me to say a yes. I looked at Talia in disappointment but she just behaved as if it was absolutely fine and flashed me a big smile.
"How do you manage to be everyone's favourite?", Rey screamed as Stella took me along with her.
Once I was done with the speech that I was allegedly chosen for, I came back to where everyone was standing. "You were so good with your words", Rex complimented me by kissing me on my cheeks.
"Yes! And you looked so beautiful on that stage. I even overheard one of the boys in the back regarding how you made them hard", Rey said while winking at me. "Stop exaggerating things guys! I am sure Tal would have been much better if she was up there", I said while holding Talia's hand.
Just then from the corner of my eyes I saw Austin coming towards us slowly, his face looked pale. "Hey pal! Where have you been? Fucking some girl in the house I guess", Rey said while punching him in the chest.
"He's not well. Food poisoning I guess", I said while rubbing his arm. I saw Austin glaring at Talia with a doubtful look on his face but as soon as he saw me looking at him he just smiled at me softly.
Just then the DJ turned some party songs and suddenly I felt like dancing my heart out even when I wasn't drunk at all. "Let's go guys", I said while pulling them along with me.
We danced and danced till our heels ached. I was swaying my body along with the music without giving a care to the world, to the problems that I had yet to face and to the people who watched at me with a judging look on their face.
Suddenly I felt the straps on my dress tearing loose and just when my dress was about to uncover my breasts, I found a muffler wrapped around my body.
I turned back to see the person holding me tightly in an attempt to keep the muffler in place and it was no other than Austin. "Come along with me", he said while holding my hand.
I followed him quietly till we exited the beach and were now in the penthouse. He looked at me in the eyes and while resting his hands on my shoulders he remarked, "Hey its okay. No one saw this and it stays between us. You fine?"
I just shook my head before hugging him tightly. Just then we saw the others come inside the house.
As soon as Rex saw me with tears in my eyes he came running towards me and said, "What happened baby? Why are you crying?" I just hugged him but it seemed as if he understood when he tightened his hold on me.
Alan and Stella also came running inside the house. "Oh my god Becca!", she said while her voice dripped of sympathy for me.
"Guys we need to talk", Austin said breaking the silence and he again looked at Talia one last time before making his way upstairs.
